>VW owns pretty much every well known European car brand from luxurious audi to sporty porsche and legendary bugatti lamborghini
>gets it ass kicked by company that produces boring
and let's be honest
rather overpriced shitboxes
>honda makes engines to everything from lawn mowers to F1 sportcars
>still less the 1/8 profits of a brand known for nothing except for cars
Can someone explain the Toyota magic to me.Is selling cars to old people and trucks to third world militias really the one way to succeed!
>Toyotas
>overpriced
>VWs
>not overpriced
It's fucking ridiculous what kind of money they're asking for cars with the same tech as Skodas and Seats in them. And people continue to pay for that crap.

I want a GTI but I'm worried about that VAG reliability. Has anyone here owned a GTI?
>>16642693
Just buy from Carmax and get the warranty.
>>16642693
depends on your location
a gti will more reliably pull vag in stuttgart than it will in cincinatti
>>16642818
wrong type of VAG anon.

I can't be assed to search craigslist again but there was a 1988 celica with 200k miles for 14,000. I don't know what the boomer was thinking.
>>16620255
sounds like it was a Toyota Celica All Trac.
Still not worth $14k tho even if it was taken of for all 200k miles
Apparently the Giulia is not big enough

How the fuck can you review a car when you're a fat enough fuck to affect the L/R weight distribution?
>>16645872
>2017
>Not having your own gravitational pull help steer the car through left hand corners.
Anytime you hear someone shitting on a god tier car its because they are a fat slob that can't fit in it.
How BIG is your STICC?
It's one of the rare cases where shorter is better.
Do you measure including the boot or just the handle?
>>16641896
>better
>harder to tell which gear it is in
>higher chance of getting into wrong gear due to less traveling distance
You have 10 seconds to explain why you don't own a 3K Civic

I live in Brazil
Not a poorfag and would look trashy in my area. Recently bought a new '17 civic.
>>16641060
>look trashy
Just keep it clean and well taken care of, wouldn't look trashy at all.
>'17 civic
What does a brand new Civic do that a 3K Civic can't?
Buy a hybrid, they said...

just turn off the car....
>>16638122
>shit driver
>loses power steering, brakes, everything at over 100 miles an hour
really just stop accelerating
>>16638149
You don't lose brakes when you turn off the car faggot
brake-by-wire is illegal
power steering loss isn't a big deal at 100mph, its super easy to turn the car at those speeds
Is there anything less financially responsible than buying a car new.
>>16638071
realistically probably not
>>16638071
How about buying a new car, having a work truck break down, and trading in the new car for a new truck and still paying it off over the course of ~10 years? Also the truck's underpowered for what you're doing and you take shit care of it so you end up junking it 15 years later.
modifying your new car
modifying your car in general is stupid
This is the only 4 door car that also looks badass

As iconic as the Crown Vic was, I feel the Charger was born to be a police vehicle.

>>16637604
Chargers are for niggers
Invented the production line.
First affordable car accessible to the general public.
Three of their vehicles in the top best selling of all time.
Best selling trucks for decades.
Invented the pony car.
Created the best power-to-weight-ratio vehicle of any production car ever.
Sold in all regions of the world.
The Mustang was the best selling sportscar in... fucking Germany.
Reliable as fuck.
Why are JDM fags and Eurotrash kids so mad? Camaro and Chevy owners wish they had the prestige of the Ford and are too busy with recalls. Dodge's barges can't touch this company. German cars are stuck with the reputation of reliability but break every few thousand miles and make you pay thousands in repairs.
All hail the best company on earth.
When I hear Ford, I picture this....some really sad shit in other words. Ford is just meh tier.
If I don't end up getting an Italian shitbox in the near future, I'm going after a Ford, either a Fiesta or Mustang. They make damn good cars.
bravo, hyundai

Have a mercurial time.
So we're really doing this.
Want to contribute since i'm getting my hopes up a bit for actual discussion or at least what little i can pull out of this.
With the new "GT" out some people in /sp/ (also known as the better /o/ for racing cars) have speculated that Ford and their modern-day homologation of a racing platform might make the whole GTLM class faster (maybe even faster than the post 2000s GT1 cars they replaced) as other manufacturers try to edge out any and all advantages they can such as porsche moving the engine forward for an MR and the Mid-engine corvette could also be so GM could homologate a faster Corvette as to ensure Ford has no advantage over them.
