Hey /o/
so some worthless cunt stole my Jeep I guess.
Walked out the door to go to work yesterday morning and it's just gone. In a really safe low crime area too. But anyway, I submitted the theft report to Police who came and took a bunch of details and also filed an insurance claim and waiting to hear anything.
My question is, outside of the obligatory Facebook post to my town page and regularly scouring Craigslist, what other options do I have for getting a lead on it? I've tried searching for tow records and parking tickets in my town (alameda) and the surrounding cities (oakland and berkeley etc). What are common sites people can try to sell boosted cars from?
Also, am I fucked? It's insured, but it has a $500 deductible for theft I guess. Plus I know they'll undervalue the car. I'm pretty sure Bluebook is like $1,300 - $1,500, unlike the local market value for an unmodified, mechanically solid, straight body, clean paint, 5 speed stick, 4x4 Laredo with good condition everything, which is more like $2,500 - $3,800. Not to mention all of the fucking maintanence I'll have to do up front again into any used car I'll buy.
How much am I likely to get paid for this thing?
btw, OP pic is my car and so is this pic. The main identifiable feature of the car aside from the plate (5YPD485) is the duct tape covering a small hole in the fiberglass on the rear.
File a police report and pray. If it makes any odd noises, tell the cops.

Did you leave your keys in the car? Nobody is stealing this hunk of shit unless it fell into their lap.
That face when they don't make your dream car so you gotta buikd it. 4x4 crown vic with swampers and a blown V10... sigh.
Just buy a V10 pickup and mount the vic body on it?
>>16630856
the good v10 trucks are rare and expensive
>American V10
... why is that your dream car?
Here is my second dream car, next to the W126 SEC
so, i'm buying a tandem axle rear end truck and i wanna suspension lift it because mud and cool and 'murica. it's a really uncommon truck. how would one suspension lift a truck that has almost no aftermarket parts available? more leaf springs?
>pic only sort of related.
>international harvester, not ford.
Big boy airbags. weld brackets in locations that allow for big lift.
Blocks in the leaf springs

but if i puncture one, then im out like a fuck ton of money.
Never post on a FB auto group asking why so many "enthusiasts" hype up their 2015 auto civics
Never get wrecked by normies on Facebook and come to /o/ for validation.

Fair, there were just so many

Leave.
Watching car shows on TV got me thinking if this could really be as profitable as they show. Any tips on how to pull this off properly? I already found one car that could be restored for a profit, a 1967 Chevy Camaro for only $5500.
https://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/5960613443.html
Fully restored they sell for up to $30,000. I'm thinking with a $15k budget I can still walk away with a $9k profit, what do you think?
Just no
Do you have the skills?
Do you have the knowledge?
Do you have the space?
Do you have the time?
Not to mention, drivetrain work and cosmetics of a car that shit will blow your budget and any hope of profits out the window.
You wont get high dollar for a 6 cylinder camaro
You will spend more than 10k in body panel replacement, body work, and painting alone
>>16630348
Profit margins are slim.
TV shows are bullshit. They make money off the network, not the cars.
You need ALOT of knowledge. Otherwise you'll spend a year doing what should have taken a month.
Everything you have to outsource (have someone else paint it, someone else do the upholstery, etc) cuts into any profit.
Only way to make money is to do everything yourself. Turning wrenches isn't enough.
Just for starters you'd need:
>complete tool set
>lift
>sandblaster
>paint booth
>sewing machine for thick upholstery
>the knowledge and skill to successfully craft parts that people would be willing to pay for (I.e., not just "good enough", but correct) for all of that.
>>16630348
It is a great business but you have to be a good business man as well as a master craftsman.
>anon why did you buy this thing it doesn't even have a touchscreen dash board and there is no usb ports ugh!!!

>doesn't even have a touchscreen dash board and there is no usb ports ugh!!!

Hey /o/
I got a 2004 GTI, no mods, the check engine light came on a few weeks ago, pulled the code and it was system 1 bank too lean...
Now, when I start driving it (after sitting all night) i'll go to brake, and it'll choke, rev up to almost 1000 RPM and shudder.
Any thoughts? Think the MAF is going out? I looked for boost leaks, vacuum leaks and checked my air filter, they are all good.
Thoughts?

bump pls
I had a 2003 GTI, I miss it

Time for a new car... VW's from that era are full of issues.

VERY fast merlin cornering at incredible hihg speed
English meme car.

It's a custom made car known as The Beast. Under the hood is a WW2 Meteor engine.

What is a 'true' sports car? Is there a minimum hp they need?
a car designed for sport at the expense of practicality and utility.
in the age of google threads like this don't need to exist

After having been exposed to /o/ for a full year, i have concluded that literally every car is complete trash. There isn't a single good car on the market
born and raised in NYC and i've know this since birth
Camry is a good car

t. 30k a year honda driver
here
>>16629759
he mad lmao
Stacey hurted your feelings anon?
Am I supposed to speed like crazy on a motorcycle?
I follow the speed limit, or go over slightly (like 35 in a 30 zone) and a lot of cars really very aggressively overtake me, because I filtered to the front of a queue, got in front of them but I stick to the speed limit.
Why do cars get mad? Especially BMW and Audi drivers. They're just jealous that I'm having fun and they're not?
>>16629735
>Especially BMW and Audi drivers. They're just jealous that I'm having fun and they're not?
This is the case regardless if you're in a car or on a bike
>>16629735
Why would you bother to filter up to a stop light if your not going to stay out in front of traffic? Your asking to get run over. Ride faster or stay in line at the light.
>>16629763
I filter to the front or near the front so that I don't have to wait for an entire traffic light cycle, I can go as soon as it turns green rather than get stuck waiting for it to go green next time.
This is Citroën C3 2017. It has bumbers on the sides so it doesn't get scratched. They say that it is a good design.
GROW BIG CACTUS
Could be worse.
>all those delicate painted surfaces that can still get scratched
when is sitrone going to just cut to the chase and cover the entire car in rubber bumps?
