I've been watching too much Top Gear of late, and the cars on display are absolutely gorgeous. Sadly, their aesthetic appeal scales proportionally with my inability to buy one. The question is this:
How viable would it be (assuming one has done a couple almost-total restorations on older vehicles and has a 454 cubic inch engine laying around) to build your own? Obviously the performance wouldn't be anywhere near as impressive, but could the general feeling be captured?

Just how difficult is drifting?
It looks fairly simple here. I mean really, it just looks like you need to turn your car left all the way, let go of the wheel and let the car turn itself, then grab onto it and turn a little to the left to keep the car drifting.
Is there any more to it than that?

Can someone explain pickups to me?
They often have lift kits making the bed much higher and poor for utility, also even lifted they are not ideal for off road.
The bed walls make adding a 5th wheel kinda stupid because of the big goose-neck that needs to go up and over
Unless you add a topper your load is exposed to theft and the elements
Bed walls don't fold down and wheel wells protrude into the bed so loading a pallet on the truck with forklift isn't feasible
When it actually comes to utility, a van seems better in every way except for the odd time that a load will not fit in the back.

Well, it DOES affect me. Normies and SUV moms don't know the difference between, let's say, stance and a slightly lowered ride height, or functional aero, or anything modded. So when a stancefag spins out at 200 km/h and crashes into another car, and everybody involved dies due to a fire, people will demand legislations for modifications of cars. Like I said, normies don't know shit and because of that, legislation meant to adress spinning stancefags WILL affect me.
Not that I'm from Spain or Portugal, but look at those 2 countries. I'm not sure which of the two, both have fairly strict car laws, but one of them even has shitty rules about wheel size and tire diameter. I believe you can't just switch to a wider set of wheels or so, there's legislation involved.
Tl;dr stance is cancer and stancefags will hang on the day of the rope
