How much should someone spend on performance upgrades? Is there a general rule of thumb? I have a 2000 Toyota 4runner that valued at around 3k on kbb so I don't want to spend TOO much. How much is a good idea when considering the value of the car

Is using higher octane fuel beneficial or not? My Honda wants regular 87 octane but I can buy 89 octane or premium (91 octane). The question is: should I bother? Is there any benefit to buying the more expensive fuel?

Any Optima users out there?
My Optima battery doesn't seem to hold a charge anymore. I bought it about 5 years ago.
Is that normal?
I remember when I first went into the auto parts store to see if they could give me a regular car battery, they wanted a certain price for a regular car battery, but then I told them I could get an Optima for less on Amazon, and they stopped and said, "Dude, you gotta get the Optima, those things run forever."
Anyway. Back then I thought car batteries lasted 10 years on average. Now I looked it up again, and the consus is about 2-6 years. But I thought Optima would last longer than that.
Anyone here have any experience with Optima batteries?

5 years isn't bad at all. There is no straight answer, you can smoke a battery in months if it's dropping into the single digits or your charging regulation is bad, or it could last 10 years if you are lucky and in the perfect conditions.

Looking for a pure comfy car to buy.
Want really good cup holders / center console area as my truck's plastic cup holders won't hold the newer designed 20 oz bottles of water or any larger bottles of water which is getting on my nerves while driving.
I'd like to stick with sedan or hatchback just because of crossover insurance premiums.
Probably stick with something 2005 or newer.
Budget is anything under 15k.
Probably get automatic so i'd like to avoid CVVT/DCT.
May look at manual but it's not a weekend car it's a grocery getting a-b comfort mobile.

neither. the is200t is the badgewhore lease special and the 328i is one step above that but it doesn't have a dipstick and it's a shitty 4-cylinder. You could get a used ls430 or 460 that's more luxurious or a cheaper car that's more fun to drive.
