Corvette as first car. Opinions?
They are powerful machines, test drive it to make sure its something you want to drive everyday. If i had to choose a car around that price itd be a
>>16873211
Nice tiny ass image. as for the Corvette, i assume you would be getting a regular C6 or something and not the ZR1 pictured. not really much to say other than if they are owned by some middle age'd guy who most likely garaged it most of its life it shouldn't have seen much abuse. i heard from Regular Fur Reviews that the clutches (assuming you are getting a manual) are really forgiving too. they are definitely daily'able cars. power and torque might catch you off guard if its your first car.
some guy who goes by the name "Frosty" has one and supposedly hes the most successful drug dealer on /o/ so maybe good hustling skills will be bestowed upon you.. or prison dicks.

Don't spoil yourself so early
>be me
>just get a job
>starting next monday
>wake up today
>go for a drive in my car
>clutch blows up in traffic
I dont even want to daily this car right now, i just need a comfy car,
>go online shopping
>all teh comfy cars are expensive
>all the cars i would like are at the same price
wtf
When did comfy cars get so expensive?
by comfy i mean
>4 door sedan automatics that are clean 90's to early 2000's
At the price most are selling i can get a R33 manual, but i dont want a manual to daily anymore
>e60 m5 w/ paddle shifters

What's the function of spoilers?
I mean, i realize that the less weight the more important downforce is, and the less restrictive the flow before the wing the better response, but i still dont fully get it.
I get that some people get racing FWD cars set up to oversteer and use big rear wings to counter that, and ive read that SOME PEOPLE might have spoilers producing upforce to force the front down (but i think that was bullshit).
However, the actually good excuse i found was that the vortex, dirty air, or basically the mess of air flow behind the car was affecting the performance of the car, and people used spoilers (read, the civic type R spoilers) to get this vortex of trapped air as behind as possible, if not try to remove it entirely, and supposedly this could help reduce drag slightly.
Is that bullshit? or is trapped air behind the car good for drag?
I miss the My Summer Car threads...
>>16873168
I read in the trucker general that the vortex behind the trailer in this case creates a low pressure area which effectively functions as a very mild vacuum and creates the equivalent of drag on the truck by having a high/low pressure differential between the front and back of the car. I imagine it would be the same for a car only to a smaller degree. It sounds plausible but I'm not an air doctor so I can't say for sure.
>>16873168
The function of a spoiler is to "spoil" the lift.
How'd I do, anons? So I need to come up with a vanity license plate. My state has an autism awareness one, so I'm obviously getting that. For the text, all I have is "REEEEEE" and "STILOL". I'm sure you nerds have
I'm sure you nerds have some ideas*
>>16873111
you bought a blue Ford.
You did okay, I guess.
r u s rs
alright /o/, tell me why I shouldn't put $1k down on a Model 3
>$7,500 federal tax credit
>$2,500 state (CA) rebate
>relatively affordable price at $35k starting
>autopilot available if approved, likely first in the nation in my state
>unique styling
>respectable, perhaps excellent, acceleration
>superlative safety
am I missing something here?
I've got a less than 200mi round trip to major destinations in my area, plus charging stations along all major routes in the nation according to Tesla's map
I plan on selling my old commuter car, a 2013 Subaru Impreza, and replacing it with the AWD Model 3. With the trade in/sale value of my old car, plus the tax credits/rebates, and with how cheap car loans are, this seems like a no-brainer.
Any reason not to?

It'll be 10 years before you get your car, if you ever do
You don't have a licence and your mom just renewed your bus pass.
Fuck off.
What have y'all heard about the FreeValve system? I know there's only one production car using the tech, but it's China-exclusive. Is there a possibility we'll see this in other vehicles in the near future?
>>16872918
But will it blow apex seals?
It's relatively new but within 10 years it will be in almost all cars. Just like electric steering appeared out of nowhere and are everywhere now.
In 20 years engines are going to be insane. Pneumatic valves, variable compression, jet ignition, variable geometry turbos, fuck me :)
Opinions? Anyone ever have one?
>20 yr old
>might pick one up with under 80k

Just buy a brz

very solid, good looking car
can't really ask for much more
Which one of these would you guys choose for your first car, I want some second opinions.
>>16872863
Stanced, neither. Barring that, the G35 is 90%the performer, while being 200% more practical. You'll have read sears and a decent trunk to throw shit in.
>>16872895
G35 just looks better too
>>16872863
Fuck the fuck off.
Theres at least 3 350z threads a day.
Its a shit car for scumbags.
Why are mustangs so ugly and idolized?
>General ugly car thread that the media hypes about
the problem with that rear end is that it has a wide bezel and it is too vertical.
they made this rear end a little less vertical and shrunk the bezel a little bit, but it has a black panel and weird louvred tail lights.
try to get something cheaper and not used with

why don't they make tire warmers that fit in between the tire and the wheel and heat up the tire when car is running?
that way you could run summer tires even when it's freezing outside
why don't they make road warmers that fit in between the road and the ground and heat up the road when cars are running?
that way you could run summer tires even when it's freezing outside
>>16872648
that would be many many times more expensive though
>>16872659
but what if the roads paid for themselves and then some?
Gonna buy an 06 Eclipse GT this weekend. It seems like the 3.8L V6 on this is about as good as I can get on my $6000 budget for a year-round car (I live in Wisconsin). Plus it'll be my first manual to learn. Any advice from /o/ on either the car or learning stick? I plan to spend many days stalling
>>16872602
Had an 03 with the 2.4l. The v6 makes 250hp I think so that's not no bad. Fun car, even in auto. Decently comfortable and the hatch was fun. Just make sure it hasn't been abused too much. Mine had a shit radiator and head gasket from the get go.
>>16872602
Get a RSX type S, it is better in every way and costs just as much
>>16872602
Prelude and RSX are better. MUCH better.
For that dude who wanted eurobeat. Meant to linkl this earlier.
