I am getting my motorcycle endorsement next week (Oregon if that matters) and I want to get an adventure bike. I understand I shouldn't jump right in to the 650 range but I was wondering if there are any smaller bikes that would be reasonable for a beginner but also good for hauling some shit? Preferably something that'll last me a while so I don't end up having to shop for a bike real quick. Another thing to keep in mind is that I'm a manlet so I don't want any ridiculously tall bikes (I've heard that for some reason 400cc bikes can be really tall). Obviously keeping price in mind as it will eventually be replaced by a DR 650 or something down the line.
>>16883607
You would be absolutely fine, assuming you're tall enough, on a wee Strom or adr650
>>16883614
Really? Even as an absolutely new rider? Everyone always tells me to wait to get a bike that big.
>>16883626
Depends, how big are you?
The real worry is an i4 600cc bike which is a much different beast than a 650cc single or twin
Used caddy, has a small oil leak and needs new tires. Otherwise in immaculate condition. Is this worth it? What would you buy it for?
10/10 aesthetics
$500. Northstar? I've heard those things are nightmares.

Would it be a problem if i get a modern honda or toyota with a CVT transmission? I hear CVTs suck.. also can you guys redpill me on the ford focus and fusion? Which is better .. i like how they look
GOOGLE MOTHERFUCKER.
USE IT.
THIS IS NOT A SPOONFEEDER CICLEJERK
Yeah CVT's suck hard.

CVTs are the transmissions of the future. Other types can't compete with the ability to change gear ratios instantaneously at a continuum.
Hey /o/, I posted this project a couple months ago asking for your guys opinions about it, and I got some good responses, so I figured I'd post again.
Quick rundown:
>1972 Honda N600
>was lifted, sitting on a suzuki samurai chassis with 33" tires
>decided to tear it down and build it into something different
>was originally gonna keep it lifted and make it a pre runner with long travel suspension, but decided instead to make it into a quick little street car
>pulled a nissan L24 out of a 240z and rebuilt it from top to bottom to use in this car
>plan on building it with a low ride height and some nice wide tires and good coilover suspension
Thats where I'm at currently with this build. Still have a lot of decisions to make in regards to basically every component of the vehicle, so it's a very open ended project at this point.
>cont.
A couple years back I bought a complete LSD rear end/subframe from a z32 300zx from pick n pull. I figured since i have it just sitting here I might as well try and use it in this project. So I took it and mocked it up underneath the body.
It is WAYY wider than this tiny little car, and the disks sit about 6" outside the fender wells on each side. Total track width is 64" for this rear end. I'm not 100% sure that this is the rear end that I'm gonna go with, but it would certainly be nice if I could use it. An alternative would be the rear end out of the 240z which is about 6" narrower but doesn't have LSD and isn't a 5 link like this one is
As you can see here, I'd need some wheels with a huge positive offset to try and suck the tires back underneath the car. It's gonna need some big ass wide body fenders as well. I wanted to go with some 15x9 wheels so that I could run some really wide tires, but I'm not sure if a 15" wheel will clear the brakes and calipers on this z32 rear end. So I might have to go with 16" or 17". Rims that big on this little car will look stupid though, so I'm trying avoid that if possible
I'll be cutting out the entire firewall and floorpan and building a custom chassis using the center section of the suzuki samurai framerails, mated to a tubular front and rear subframe. This L24 is a straight 6 so it's gonna be a fucking tight squeeze trying to fit it into a car that was originally designed for an air cooled 600cc 2-cylinder lol. It'll have a 5 speed manual of course.
I'm thinking that since I have to wide body it in order to fit the rear end, I could possibly go for a group B rally look like pic related. Add some fat side skirts and boxy fenders, maybe some air scoops? Any advice or opinions are welcome, I want to hear what you guys think I should do
Alright, so ive got a bit of spare cash and was thinking of getting a 2nd gen camaro/firebird as a sunday driver while i fix em up.
What are typical problems with them? And what are some cheap simple mods? Dont really care about looks, probably gonna rattle can it if its paint is bad, i just want somethiny loud and different from my daily. Budget is 3k max in the Mobile Al area.
I have my eye on 3 of them, they have a 305, a 350, and a 400.

They guzzle tons of gas for noise and little power (thank you smog.)
They are basically the todays 90s civic of the 80s
>>16881396
You want at least the 350, the 305 is a dog. Try to go for 400 though. These cars are old as shit, but don't shy away from em. Just be prepared to work on it a lot
What's the weirdest things you've found in the used car you just bought?
I found party balloons and streamers in the back hidden in my jeep cherokee next to some expired penzoil.
I found some silicone earplugs in the glove box 7 months after I bought it.

Worked as a detailer, you find tons of good shit.
-Jumper cables
-Sunglasses and cases
-Maps
-Good extra sets of rubber mats
-Snowbrushes
-Keychains
-Money. Biggest scores were $10 to $20 dollars. I saved all change I ever found in used cars for the six years I worked as a detailer. I got $310 of free money, counted it when I quit.

I have an 89 supra with awful burgundy interior. I have no Photoshop skills so I don't have any examples but I wanted your ideas and thoughts on changing the fabrics to black but leaving the plastics in burgundy. i have seen many cars with 2 tone but usually the dash is black and seats and fabrics are colored. basically i want to do the opposite but I don't know if it will look right, Thoughts?
Pic of trunk
>>16879719
Just get used to it. The interior is so extensively burgundy'd up that there's no way to cleanly do this without tearing it apart 100%.
I'll buy it off you, faggot. Burgundy is god-tier.

Welp /o/, a dickhead bus driver hit me as I was exiting a roundabout because he thought the Yield was optional I guess?
Any others had accidents recently? Or any funny/stupid/etc.. accidents you've had?
As for the story in detail:
>go into the middle lane of a 3 lane roundabout, planning to take the second exit
>blinker on to exit, see bus blocking the outside lane of the roundabout, just stopped there
>buses often do this so assume he's waiting
>stay in my lane and start exiting
>bus driver fucking slams onto my side and makes me spin, end up sideways in the first lane of the exit
>shit self, move car out of the way, walk out, talk to driver, ask him wtf is wrong with him
>he says he thought I was taking the first exit
Keep in mind there are 4 exits and he thought I went to the middle lane to take the FIRST exit
>patiently explain how roundabouts work and what the law is
>wait for traffic cops who were in the roundabout to write citation (necessary before an insurance claim in my country)
>one of the bus' passengers steps out, he gives me his number and tells me he saw everything, that I'm in the right, he'll testify for me if necessary
>traffic cop tells me he also saw the whole thing, he'll also testify and back me up
>laugh heartily knowing I'm getting this shit fixed for free, and I'll maybe get the driver fired for being an idiot
>>16882632

4-way stops have been good enough for my country for hundreds of years. Why fix what isn't broken?
>>16882657
The best part about the ones here is that they connect a ring road "highway" and a couple of regular roads. So traffic is terrible, and it's really dangerous. Thankfully they're starting to replace them with overpasses, so hopefully it works out better.
