So I'm planning on hitting 200,000mi in the next year in my 323i. This car's been through a lot of shit and I love it to death so i was thinking of doing something out of the ballpark from actual maintenance when it hits the mark along with getting it detailed.
The front bumper had a split in it since i got the car 11 years ago so i was thinking of replacing it with a OEM style one. How well can people match 17yo OEM paint? I've never had anything painted before and any time i touched a paint can it's always ended in disaster.
Don't waste money on it, although it has sentimental value just save for something else.
Any pics of your car?

He's right. Its only a matter of tIme before something too big to fix happens and you're looking at a $5k-10k repair bill.
Abort when that time comes
sup auto noob here I have a 2009 Honda Accord and this turned on, is it coolant?
>>17830653
Its the tire pressure monitor system. One or more of your tires is low on air. Buy a tire pressure gauge and check your tires. ($2)
>>17830653
Oh shit that means your exhaust is backfiring which means your burning oil
Vtec is now permanently activated
I'm looking for a shitbox to commute with

I've found a couple of fiat punto for 4.5k€, one is a gpl.

Also this, only one PO.

Brands you enjoy working on.

Cross-usability with any FoMoCo parts is nice.
Like working on my Toyota at least they put a little thought into simplifying stuff. Tons of info, and most parts I can find easily. Pick n pull is full of em

Subaru. Everybody kept saying EJ's are hard to work on but that's bs. Starter is literally at the top of the engine. Spark plugs have tons of space around them. Of course the only thing I have to compare it to is a Tempo with a Vulcan crammed in but still.

hello /o/ ,never been here but since I just bought a VW Golf mk7 I had some security concerns.
Is it possible to start the engine(button) without having the key near the car, that means anyone can just break the glass get in and steal it ? If so , is there anything I could do to prevent such cases/increase security ?

>Is it possible to start the engine(button) without having the key near the car, that means anyone can just break the glass get in and steal it ?
No, only septics make cars that badly.
>>17830381
No, the car won't start unless you take the key inside the cabin. Phones jam the signal btw. My car alarm has gone off many times for trying to start the car with my keys near my phone. Separate pockets at all times. If you turn the car on and walk away a certain distance (15ish meters) for a certain amount of time with the keys in your pocket the car turns off.
Additionally, you don't have to worry about the key running out of battery, if you hold the key up to the button (at least in my wrx) it recognises the key signature and lets you push to start it anyway.

On the off chance that it's green when you get there, you know?
I'd rather buy the extra half gallon of gas every two weeks than waste another minute driving on arrow-straight grids, which is a mandatory activity if you don't want to waste several hours walking, cycling, or taking the bus.
Also motorcycle lane filtering, even restricted to stopped traffic, never, because 'TAINT FAIR! You want to reduce travel times you wait a century for 100% self driving car saturation, move into the crime ridden, sanity-sapping inner city, or give up your cozy high paying job and work in a factory on the edge of town.

Holy fuck this. I feel like I'm the only one on the road with a semblance of patience
Is there anything worse than a fuckin Nissan Versa? God, it's like its kryptonite is accelerating - you don't need to rev 3,000 - 4,000 to accelerate to 45mph!

You are faced with the choice between an NA MX5 and a Third-gen/W30 MR2, both used, in the same condition, at the same price point.
Which do you choose and why?
I'm not soliciting purchasing advice, by the way. I'm genuinely quite curious.
MX5,
by virtue of that i hate how that gen mr2 looks
More parts for cheaper repairs if you go miata.
But mr2 is cooler.
pic related, i just bought a used opel corsa '07

As someone who owned one of those, insurance is going to absolutely rape you. Great little car, I miss mine, but I certainly don't miss the near $250 a month insurance it cost. Fucking 3rd party too.
>>17829966
Seriously? 250 a month for an old ass Civic?
