Alright /o/ I'm looking for a car that can double as both my daily driver and something I can race if I want to. So what that means is reliability and RWD, so all American cars are out and most Hondas too. I'm also on a shit poor budget like real shit poor. Doing my own research, I arrived at the Miata NA 1.8 version being a great car to do the job. It's cheap and reliable and lots of people use it for drifting and MX. However, I've also had a lot of people say that they're slow cars and not actually good for what I'm looking for. Is the Miata a safe bet or should I go with something else? (Also, I have a preference towards older cars but airbags are nice for insurance)
you could go for an old BMW M as well
>>17828026
>reliability and RWD
So an F-body or Mustang isn't in your search....why?
>>17828026
Miata is the slow and safe bet, if you actually want to go fast you either turbo it, or you go buy one of the many used cars for a couple thousand extra a short list going like this:
Older m bmws (e30. Etc)
Older lexus models (Ls, SC, is)
F body mustangs
Civics or preludes
>being forced into package/trim options
Why the fuck do car companies do this? If I want nice leather seats but manual windows I should have the option, if I want a manual transmission with the best audio system I should have the option. Instead you are forced into a system of you have to get options you dont want to get what you want. I fucking hate this.
>>17827818
shut the fuck up
>>17827818
You could do that in the old days.

>t. auto maker
Why is this allowed?
>>17827734
Toyotas of that year are million mile God machines.
Worth it.
>>17827734
Toyotas have insane resale value. You can bet your ass that a 2017 4runner TRD will sell for an insane price 20 years from now.

>4.2L 6cyl
vs
>3.0L 4cyl
Old toyotas last forever. Inline sixes are godly.

So lads, how do we feel about the new Commodore?
>FF or Focus RS-esque AWD
>i4, i4 turbo or V6
>no mention of manual
Is there any hopes for a sick HSV version? Is HSV even relevant at this point after fucking up so badly with the GTSR W1? And more to the point will the nu-Commodore sell to normies or is the nameplate doomed for good?

What's the best 4WD/AWD road trip vehicle for a couple planning to sleep in the back of the vehicle some nights?
Girlfriend and I are planning a road trip, my first one and her third. There's no way my car would make it and there's also no way we'd fit in the back (it's one of those tiny 90s 'suvs' styled after a dune buggy). I'm looking for a kickass adventuremobile. Budget is under 10k but I'm definitely buying used.
>>17827666
Late 90s GMC Yukon, (not the XL version)
A minivan.
AWD available, plenty enough power, tons of room, either take the seats out entirely or fold them into the floor (chrysler stow-n-go) and put a full size mattress in their place.
Subaru Legacy Wagon

How much of a cuck do you have to be to like a glorified tiburon

That's true, a tiburon is priced more appropriately to what you're getting
Everyone knows about how Civics,Corolla,Accords and Camrys are reliable and long lasting, and their used values reflect that.
What are some good sub $3000 cars that are decently reliable and long lasting, but otherwise have poor resale value and are cheap?
>>17827481
Every E30 ever.
Get a late 90s Camry. They go for $1000. Midsize is cheaper than compact in that range, but the camry is the most fuel efficient mid size. I got mine for $800. It was one owner and a highway car.

Hello friends, I need help with the picture attached, its the last question I'm stuck on and I don't understand it, auto related because automotive engineering
wants you to know about Lenz's law
>>17827598
I still don't understand it, our lecturer gives out work to get done and doesnt explain anything
It's telling you about ohms and their conductor forces upon transdirectional amperes through coil amplitude and gain.

Also, De Tomasa Pantera, Alfa Romeo Montreal, a XJS V12, and an early 80's 7-series BMW. I think everything besides the Pantera is achievable in my lifetime.

Did a 4 year engineering apprenticeship, now stuck on a oil rig 100 miles from Aberdeen for the next couple of weeks.

I bought this game a few week ago and I have been hooked despite some of the jank it has. Its fun building and beating on whats basically a nissan cherry/datsun 100a.
>>17827074
I remember it was one of those flavor of the month games, and made countless general thread about it, like 4 of them, one for each week.
It's a cool game, got boring after 2 hours though.
>>17827100
>gets boring after 2 hours
I have 282 hours and I still love the shit out of this game
>>17827100
It did seem to grab some attention due to the novelty of it but there is plenty of things to do and I'm still loving it after 80 or so hours. Plus the dev has been adding stuff pretty consistently.
Nissan Primera GT P10 4x4.
It has a Redtop SR20DE and 4 wheel drive.
It produced 150bhp without a Turbo and only weighs about 1200kg.
It's not super fast, but fast enough to be fun, and it also looks pretty good.
Strap a Turbo to it, and you have a budget Skyline, i would call it the unwanted step brother of Godzilla.
So what do you guys say?

Here are some pics

Had a pleb 2.0 121KM and FWD. First car I learned to drive with after I got my license. Too bad I had to sell it. I loved this car.
