Is this post-rock?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2epv7pCTjO4
I cringed hard. The whole thing comes off as derivative of Godspeed! You Black Emperor. But yea, definitely post rock.
i'm kinda impressed that limp bizkit were ever capable of writing anything beyond generic nu-metal shit
huh
>>68803720
instead they made generic post-rock trash
radio static, lo-fi, noise music. I've only listened to very little of it (I think) but I love the use of distorsion, radio static (or radio chatter that's hard to distinguish), noise in music
Stuff from the likes Merzbow, Kazuma Kubota, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, I am a lake of burning orchids, The New Honey Shade, Philip Jeck, Joseph Hammer, William Basinski, Jim O'Rourke, Tim Hecker, Set Fire to Flames.
I got into it because of the noise elements present in post-rock groups such as Mogwai, GY!BE and Tarentel.
I need a compilation of such music. Is there one?

What the fuck are these guys smoking?
Yes, the band with some of the highest selling albums and the fastest selling album in British history didn't leave a mark in popular music
They were massive in UK, only Beatles have been bigger.
>>68802783
oasis sucks ass
What did /mu/ think of this album? What happened to her?
>>68802675
Another lady artist used up and thrown on the scrapheap. Sad.
>>68802675
It was good, but her second album blows it out of the water.
>>68802891

>it's an album goes ambient for no reason halfway through episode
Why? Why does he keep doing this? Please tell me some good albums of his that don't pull this shit
Station To Station and Scary Monsters. Best non-Berlin Bowie albums
You're pretty much good after that album
Listen to literally any album but Low or "Heroes"
I don't know why but I listened to the whole of Blurryface by Twenty One Pilots twice recently. I'd already heard some of the songs and thought they were alright but nothing more. My retard of an ex fan girled the fuck over them which confused me. They were given such high acclaim by her and I just didn't see it. I can see they try to be edgy and try to push boundaries but in my opinion it fails quite badly. After we broke up I constantly saw and heard about them as they gained popularity and I was questioning whether or not I liked them, I think they can write a catchy hook or two but I felt as the hype they got was so undeserved so to make my mind up I wrote a little review. Here's the first song. Tell me if you want me to carry on.
>PS: I don't claim to know anything about music this is just my opinion
Heavy dirty cock:
PROS:
Memorable lyrics
Catchy hook
Good singing
Decent dynamics
An attempt to have a deep subject matter
An attempt to make deep metaphors
CONS:
Gimmicky shit flows
Terrible rap voice
Implies he's even slightly related to a gangster
Disgusting break beat in bridge
Stuttering
"Sing with me" cliche
Really unneeded melodramatic transitions
Edgy metaphors
Repeating the same shitty chorus 4 times
Really unsubtle metaphors
>>68802580
Stretched out:
PROS:
An attempt to have a deep subject matter
An attempt to make a character
Catchy hook
Good singing
Cool reverb
The smell thing
Decent stones throw rhyme
CONS:
"I didn't do this one thing but I'm going to talk about how I wish I did"
Overused theme - Now I'm an adult everything's shit
Addressing social anxiety but saying literally nothing about it
Edgy name for his mental illness
More disgraceful disjointed flows
Pointless deep voice breakdown
>>68802594
MC ride:
PROS:
Catchy hook
Good singing
An attempt to have a deep subject matter
An attempt to make a point that's unique
Good doubled vocals
Good dynamics
CONS:
Another song about death not really saying a whole lot
A criticism that is pretty much invalid
"I think about this thing but I won't go into detail about it"
Gay emo kids can relate with the help me part
>>68802609
Fairy liquid:
PROS:
Catchy hook
Good singing
An attempt to have a deep subject matter
Cool mix of classic and modern instruments
CONS:
Look at me I'm edgy because I reference the music industry in my song even though we pander to an audience of gay impressionable morons to become the people I say I dislike
I'm emotional, won't say how or why though. gotta keep it vague for the emo kids buying the record
Another pointless deep voice breakdown
Hook literally says nothing
Trap influenced christian music doesn't really go together
So has anybody actually found the origin of this yet?
I mean, I know its from a magazine and Ride kept it in his wallet for like a decade but the original has to be on the internet somewhere right? We should search for it.
search for album cover origins general I guess
I really want to know actually.
>>68802523
Not even a fan of Death Grips, but I always wanted to know who that guy is too. Somebody will find it someday.
>>68802553
I know! I want to see it uncropped or with text surrounding it describing what exactly is happening, the mystery is killing me
