What a legacy
Let's have a /mu/ charts thread.
Looking to get into DAW's but I got no cash to spend on one or a midi controller. Ideally I would get FL or Cubase and follow SeamlessR. Am I fucked?
cmon, someone must be into DAWs
just torrent

from where tho
can somebody explain to me the differences between understanding and appreciating music especially when it comes to taste.
Like for example a friend of mine is in a prog metal band and goes to uni for music. he can usually identify what chords each song is using etc. but he mainly listens to tool, alt-j and vampire weekend. I tried show him frank zappa , aphex twin and ariel pink and he said all of them were garbage after listening to their songs for 1min.
I myself can mostly just identify what instrument is being used during the song.
Have i given myself Stockholm syndrome that i've passively listen to enough music that im too open minded to anything without truly understand it?
Your friend's right
Literally everything but the zappa beefheart collaboration song Debra Kadabra is fucking garbage. Try playing him that. If he doesn't like it then he's the problem.

>not realizing you're the problem

Hey /mu/!
Show me your private lists on rym!
>>69617793
sorry cute anime girl, i'm not comfortable doing that
if it's private I can't show it to you
my private lists are even more boring than my public ones...
Alright /mu/ I will admit I have a problem. I have fallen into the pit of enjoying poseur core unironically. Bands such as Stockhausen, Death in June, Coil, Gerogerigegege, Les Rallizes Desnudes, and Comus are all im my regular playlist.
The only question I have is how do I save myself?
Christ I just put on the Residents. Help me /mu/!

Sounds good. You don't need help.

what are some modern political songs that don't come off as annoying or preachy?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FY6VcJR2PE
anything that sides with your beliefs
Reminder that if you listen to music for any other reason than "it sounds good," then you're a tryhard.

what about music that really makes you think?
4x4 7 days tapmusic.net lastfm.paddez.com
we could all use some sleep
discuss, recommend music, ask about stuff that looks interesting
rate music (don't though no one cares)
guess silly arbitrary things like what kind of pjs they wear or their spirit animal be creative
tell me what your favorite thing this week was and why
have fun
etc
tfw falling behind on music listenings
>>69617483
hi my favourite thing this week was in your dreams, guessing that yours was free somebody or end again
also
your favourite type of drink is lemonade
you really like those chocolates with caramel in the middle
you get maybe 6 hours sleep a night but that's enough for you
and lastly your ideal house is a nice big place somewhere close to your current area
>>69617668
now for you
your favourite was nothing but thieves
your drink is red bull and food is cool doritos
you sleep for 8.5 hours, usually going to bed late
and your ideal home is some place in new york with a good basement for your band
you're also kinda lazy :)
Help i cant stop listening to loveless
Now that What.cd is gone, where does /mu/ go to get music?
>>69617482

kingdomleaks
>>69617482
is this thread going to end up posting just like "is skrillex dubstep or brostep", "does /mu/ like death metal" and "has anyone else noticed the the selly-ester >wattd field"?
How do you listen to music?
Do you listen to albums only? Do you put your whole library on shuffle? Do you make playlists?
What music player do you use?
Do you listen to vinyl records? Do you use Spotify?
Discuss.
I listen to one song on repeat until I get board of it
>Do you listen to albums only?
I try to. However I do listen to playlists alot (primarily when cooking)
>What music player do you use?
Foobar2k for my personal collection
Blackplayer for portable listening
Spotify for discovering new music and playlists
>Do you listen to vinyl records?
Yes, however I don't listen to them as often as I probably should considering the amount of money I've dropped on them.
I do also sometimes tune into the Craig Charles funk and soul radio show. Again, usually when I cook.
I FUCK THE MUSIC
hey /mu, anyone got more stuff like this? esp. first track
comfy stuff, with that high pitched synth
reminds me of pokemon music. used to play the emerald one and feel a sense of wonder and adventure. this album made me so nostalgic and excited
