AMBITION IN THE BACK OF A BLACK CAR
IN A HIGH BUILDING THERE'S SO MUCH TO DO
...and why is it Perverted by Language?
It's actually Hex Enduction Hour
Have you read the interview with them three? It's hilarious. Mark makes enemies with them from the get go and it just gets worse from there.
i like hex enduction hour much more than the others ive heard (live witch trials, slates, this nations...)
what is some other good the fall
>>69626053
I did actually, I liked how it suggested it was mostly Mark and Shane arguing, and Nick quietly provoking it and laughing to himself.
I'm in a local band, and I'm trying to find out what people want more: tapes or records. Would you rather pay $8 for a 7" record with 3 songs on it, or pay between $5 and $8 for a cassette tape with 6 songs?
>inb4 more songs for the same amount! Duh!
Some people prefer vinyl. Some people prefer cassette. I'm asking about format. Tapes can hold more, while still being cheaper to produce, but some people think vinyl is cooler.
records
I'd prefer vinyl, but I may be biased since I like to collect vinyl records.
Still, vinyl seems to be more popular, and has better sound quality, does it not?
>>69626008
Even if its a bit more expensive, and holds less tracks?

>he imagines
>>69625672
>actually got a chance to do this during talent show
>audition went well
>chose catchy song (Brown Eyed Girl)
>got only friend to play backup guitar while I lead
>had good singing voice, good playing
>judges liked it, everything looked well
>day of show
>our turn to play
>audience keep talking and making noises
>the host (a popular student) tries to get them quiet, but even she couldn't get them to shut up
>try to play anyway but before I even start singing people start booing
>teacher comes to stage and tells me I have to get off
>friend is pissed off, blames this on me, and hates me from now on
>tfw can't play guitar ever again because the memories are too painful
The worst part is I was going to ask this girl I liked out to the prom after the song, but this was the only chance I had to impress her and it's gone.
>>69625896
I'm sorry you fell for the talent show meme, I did too
but from the way you wrote that it seems you haven't learned from it
Popular music in general is not that outstanding. If you really enjoy it then have fun, but I don't see how you can expect serious critics to affirm your taste. You do not see Harry Potter fans getting up in arms about Ulysses being considered a better book. Why should rock music, unlike any other art form, be judged by mass appeal?
>>69625656
>You do not see Harry Potter fans getting up in arms about Ulysses being considered a better book
Lol yes you do. Plebs in all media demand that their tastes be taken seriously.
>>69625656
Everything but classical and trad folk is popular music trash.
>>69625700
Not all musicians other than classical or folk musicians are popular though.
>British """Music"""
>>69625529
this. It's either shitty Beatles aping guitar music or bleep bloop EDM shit that isn't even real music.

Great thread /int/
>>69625578
Inorite, if only there were more niggas making nu-metal like Death Grips
Serious, what's his role in the band?
Alex Turner is the lyricist, Matthew Helders the drummer and much probabily the best musician in the band, Nick O'Malley gives good backings, what about THIS nigga?
>>69625528
*psst*
hey
they're all shit
>>69625580
Alex Turner is objetively a great lyricist
>>69625917
Nah, he's just better than any other lyricist in that crowd
24 is easily the best song on this album. also Red House Painters general because I don't like how the Sun Kil Moon stuff gets talked about 10x more.
>>69625209
>24 is easily the best song on this album
wrong, Medicine Bottle and Michael are easily better. You sound insufferable.
>>69625209
nah this is the best song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d12a1kJ0bL8
this one also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLTWr6RSQeg
>>69625263
Sorry if I've listened to Medicine Bottle for 6 years and I don't really like it anymore.
You sound insufferable.
First time I actually sat down and gave it a whole-hearted listen.
Airbag - 3.5/5
Paranoid Android 4/5
Subterranean Homesick Alien 5/5
Exit Music 4/5
Let Down 3/5 (boring)
Karma Police 4/5
Fitter Happier 6/5 (I replayed this one)
Electioneering 4/5
Climbing Up The Walls 4.5/5
No Surprises 5/5
Luck 4/5
The Tourist 4/5
I finished it a few minutes ago.
Overall pretty good. That said I didn't have the same emotional reaction as a lot of others did. I appreciate what the point is but I guess what I mean is that it doesn't really relate to me too much.
Musically I think it is fantastic. My least favorite songs were Airbag and Let Down. After I finished the album I went back and listened to Airbag again and I do think it is a good song but it could have been better.
Let Down is my least favorite because I found it boring. It wasn't as musically interesting as any of the other songs. The lyrics are good.
>>69625177
>Let Down 3/5 (boring)
Get out
>>69625177
Keep relistening to it once a week
or be thankful you don't have an emotional connection to it.
I can't even listen to the album anymore because it makes me depressed
>Let Down above Electioneering
But for real I do agree with No Surprises and Subterranean Homesick Aliens being 5/5 (Along with most of the album but that's beside the point)
Can we stop having threads about a shoddy Beatles tribute band and instead have one about the real deal?
