good job, you finally did it
How can I tell the difference between tryhard garbage for poseurs and pseuds and genuine patrician music?
Good question. I'm interested in the answer, whoever got it.
If you genuinely like it, it's patrician
>Pleb
Famous normie albums
>Poseur
Look up something on RYM. If it has over 50 ratings but has several people raving about it it's poseurcore. Bonus points if it's avant-garde or Japanese.
>post-trap
>doesn't post an example of the genre
this is why white people shouldnt listen to trap, they over classify shit
Are you saying 'is this post-trap' or ''is this post here an example of trap, meaning the picture?'
I have this ambient playlist I quite like. It's a constant work in progress. I like to play it in the evenings as I'm winding down the day and while I sleep. I also enjoy it for reading because I can't process text if there's any vocals. I would love to hear any suggestions to add. The criteria are as follows:
>no drums or vocals with lyrics, patterned melodies kept to minimum
>songs must be under 15:00 as to not hog the playlist (this precludes a bunch of music from the Zeno ambient category)
>one song per artist is preferred (exceptions for if songs are sonically different between artists)
>generally, the rule of thumb is "Could I sleep to this?" An "ambient artist" is not a categorical requirement as an artist, and music will be examined on a track by track basis. For instance, I included a track by Nmesh (vaporwave) because it is an ambient track.

Aphex Twin - Stone in focus (not on Spotify. alternatively, Aphex Twin - Lichen)
>>70701565
These are nice, wish it was on Spotify.
What is some actual depressioncore?
Not just music for anons who want to seem depressed but aren't actually and are just kinda sad or feel a bit of ennui (deathconsciousness, giles corey, et al.)
>>70700853
>thinks depression is something to brag about
>posts Basinkski.
oh anon, i know you feel like a piece of shit but depressed people really don't listen to some Akustik-Elektronik hack. Most slowcore feels appropriate, maybe very quiet ambient like Stars of the Lid.
>>70701022
Yeah its depressing how bad it is compared to her Antony and the Johnsons albums
>Called The Velvet ""Underground""
>1,245,416 monthly listeners on Spotify
/mu/ is more mainstream than the mainstream desu
>Called "Death Grips"
>Death grips what? Certainly not my attention because I'm way too patrician for that overly abrasive and mind-numbingly pretentious garbage."
>>70700616
this
Why /mu/ don't respect Grimes as much as Bjork and Kate Bush? When that is going to happen?
>>70700513
Because you permavirgins talk about her too much as if she's a god or something.
>>70700513
Give it another good album or two...then we'll see the spunk fly!
>>70700513
grimes isn't good
heres some good pop music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAbxS-6XsMY
I tried to do this last night but it was prettymuch a ghost town by then.
Each year will be getting 2 (two) more albums!
So pick your favorites.
i actually like the chart as it is remember how hard '09 was to fill
>>70700492
I actually got some pretty good ideas for expansions (which I'm re applying now)
I'm gonna be posting the 'updates' I already got soon.
Also I want all 3 charts to match collum wise. I feel like it's weird to have the 10s chart have 12 collums but the 00s and 90s only to have 10.
>>70700466
huge omission imo
Why couldn't they ever do it again? Did they just... forget how to be good?
they were never good
Has this album really aged well? It was great back in 07 but it doesn't hold up well next to something like a Daft Punk record.
>>70700976
Sure it does. In fact, I'd say that it's better than both Homework and HAA (but not Discovery).
What does /mu/ think of Frank?
IE SANATRAAAAA
Official frank rank:

Honestly don't get why MHTRTC gets the most praise. Honestly atmosphere wise even Tomorrow's Harvest beats it.
