I know Tenacious D is a washed up comedy band but God damn, this is criminally underrated.
>>73366257
They're not washed up, you don't know anything, and the album isn't criminally underrated. Every clause of this post is wrong.
See, in order to be washed-up, you have to be have been young and thin /first/. And Tenacious D always presented to the public just as you see them in the picture - two fat guys, one balding.
You're just floating this opinion because you're a teenager (or mentally thereabouts), fairly new to a real appreciation for music, and you were previously unfamiliar with the album and now that you've listened to it, you feel special and are testing what having opinions about music is like. It's "new to you" and you're mistaking this for "making a discovery".
In fact, the album has been fairly popular and well-liked by white guys and rock fans in general ever since it came out. Even checking the professional reviews on the fucking wiki shows that the critics liked it too, which just underlines how idiotic your assertion was.
That said, I'm glad you like the album! Enjoy!
tenacious D would be good if they didn't write hamy comedy songs

I thought only the japanese were capable of making music like this.

Does anyone like Nadja?
They're one of my favourites but I never see them on /mu/.
Aidan Bakers collab with Tim Hecker is immensely underrated. Thats all I can add to this thread
>>73366225
Great album, I can agree with you on that one.
>>73366184
Baker is a music factory. He just drops albums every other day. I like him and most of Nadja's stuff.
Exited? Will it be better than Slowdive's album?
>Excited?
Yeah
>Will it be better than Slowdive's album?
Probably not
>Will it be better than Slowdive's album?
If the singles are an accurate measure of the rest of the album, no.

Making a spotify playlist for the best math rock you boys got, reply with the album art, title and why it belongs, if enough people participate (5 or more) i'll give the playlist name, starting with Polvo - Exploded Drawing
such a shitty request, you might as well have just made a math rock sharethread, it's just as much work to post all your shit
What do we get out of helping you make a playlist? Go through the archive and make your own, faggot

So, /mu/, your opinion on the genre, the scene of today, the scene of yesterday, the bands? Discuss.
Is neofolk that genre where a white American plays guitar and sings, yet doesn't actually have any connection to the music of his folk? They seem like posers to me. That "genre" seems like commercial/hippy shit.
Speed folk is the future.

Also synthfolk.

20th century commercialism can't die quickly enough in my onion. People genuinely wanting to make music for others will produce something much more soulful than people getting a buck off churning out an album every year for others.
>>73366415
neofolk is neopagan, poetic, post industrial, spiritual folk mostly from europe
Bob Dylan is what you'd call contemporary folk or folk rock.

>>73366415
You mistaken neofolk and indie folk ( which I detest ) The easiest difference to spot, yet the most singnificant is the cultural and musical difference based on geography - Neofolk is Europe, when Indie is American.
Neofolk has its roots in post-punk and industrial, and has started in late 70's / early 80's. It's dark, often flirting with controversial military, totalitarian aesthetics and themes, heritage, etc. Death in June is a really good band to start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp7n4bcInP4
Any Wader fans here?
I got spotify the other day and was surprised that they have almost everything by him
