Goddamit Nickelback, you almost had opportunity to make a good, heavy, concept (politics) album and then you blew it with 3 soft ballads and "meat n potatoes" formula (to please as much people and radio stations as possible), as you always do.
In my opinion, it is much better album than their previous "Maroon 5 wannabe" album but they screwed up when they didnt match the album title with ALL songs featured, except "Feed the machine".
3/5

Why would you even bother listening to this shit?

I like post-grunge.

The first time I listened to this I had a terrible flu. Every time I hear it now I get the kind of feverish chills I had when I first listened to it. No so much emotional but the album is kinda haunting to me.

Sloop John B. Everytime the song starts I just get emotional because how beautiful the song is.
WHERE MAH BASSHEADS AT?
say happy birthday to him
heard this on the radio while at work the other day
still one of the most powerful songs they ever wrote
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF4GS9cSll4
it got me thinking though, why do you almost never heard anything they did in the 90s on the radio? aside from one, that is.
achtung baby was a fucking massive album with massive singles, it would make sense for people to remember it for more than one fucking song. zooropa was pretty big as well and pop was a hit in europe too so what the fuck?
happy birthday bono

I guess In Flames was basically an emo band by 2000. "Suburban Blues" just made me think of this song.

I like this album. It's hard to compare it to Flamingo, which was basically a Killers album under Brandon's solo name. I enjoy them both and am looking forward to the new album.

Holy shit, it's ridiculous how much Coldplay circa-1998 sounds like The Bends era Radiohead. When everyone jokes about Radiohead sounding like Coldplay but with bleeps and bloops I didn't really get it but this is some other shit...
>>73364792
there was a meme a year or so ago about their 1st album being decent, all of their early stuff is fairly decent
>>73364840
It's super derivative but derivative music is pretty much the philosophy of the band and it's better rip off music than they make these days
It really is a mystery
Geez, maybe Brian really did dick Van Dyke
