Is it worth to read translated poetry? I'd like to hear first hand experiences.

If you read poems - no
If you read epics or drama, there are sometimes some okayish interpretations/translations
It depends, I know that Poe was translated in french by Baudelaire who is also a poet, I think his translation can give an other look on Poe's work. Maybe you should try to read both version of a poem if you're good enough with the language.

Would anyone be interested in reading a book about a smart but lazy, misunderstood, young man struggling with existential crisis after existential crisis?
No; I would be interested in reading a book about a smart young man who overcomes his laziness and conquers his existential crises by applying himself to something he has found himself to be passionate about.
Your proposed book would otherwise be written from nothing other than personal experience and a lack thereof.

yes, just post your diary!
Can someone recommend a novel with a stoic protagonist?
Somebody who has to overcome great hardship and transcends his/her former self in the process or somebody who has to accept the way of the world without falling into despair.
Both classics and contemporary
You're starting to make the protag sound like the good guy. As if that wasn't already evident.

When you read do you covalize the words in your head?
I want to learn how to read super quickly and through my research I'm seeing that
>It’s simply not possible to comprehend what you’re reading and avoid using that inner voice
Honestly I don't think the goal should be to learn to speedread, unless you want to skim before doing an in-depth reading a la Mortimer Adler's method. The goal should be increasing reading comprehension speed, which is doable at first, but you will probably become very difficult and will quickly run into IQ-related processing limits once you've maximized your concentration and become as a familiar as possible with the relevant subject that you're reading.

>I want to learn how to read super quickly
Don't, that's retarded.
>It’s simply not possible to comprehend what you’re reading and avoid using that inner voice
Some people can.

Fun fact, I would like to lear how to Covalize while reading.
What is a good breakpoint of words per day to write? I've been at 1k per day as a minimum but I am trying to push myself to do more. What's a good pace for an aspiring author?
>>9683439
Just do whatever works for you. Some writers (Anthony Burgess and John Banville for example) write only a page or two a day because they're just very meticulous.
The more often you do something, the better you become at it. Continue writing about what you want to write about--speed, words, and the ability to think through a scene will come more naturally to you over time.
Remember this: the number of words you put on paper is inconsequential to their quality. What words would you like to be remember for, for having written?
>>9683454
Burgess wrote 2000 words a day.
These are the first 20 threads on /lit/ right now. All the highlighted threads are shit. What the fuck happened on this board? It wasn't like this three years ago.

I hated the book. Not because of the content, but because Hitler is a terrible writer.
Spanish literature once again.
I think Spanish (from actual Spain not south America) literature can be divided into two categories as of now.
Classics and modern garbage trilogies.
I glance at the shelfs of the library from time to time and all I can see is complete works of important yet dead or almost dead authors and twilight/hunger games/50shades ripoffs.
Am I wrong? I desesperatly wanna be wrong but thats what the spanish panorama looks like right now.
>>9683233
Modern Spanish literature is garbage. Classics are masterpieces though.
>>9683233
People say that about literature everywhere, and yes it almost always boils down to ignorance
What is the best translation for Anna Karenina?

腐ったの女でもかまいませんよ
There is something inherently human about the will to live. I think that this perspective is an interesting, and more logical outlook than the romantics of Mishima. They sort of complement each other in painting Japaneseness, and join together on the principal topic which is to reject what it has become.

>A coward for not succumbing to the herd mentality of nationalism
Conscientious objectors will always exist as long as individuals value the inherent human will to be alive.
