Don't purchase any of GRRM's upcoming books.

Winds of Winter now pushed back...AGAIN to 2018.

If you must consume his content pirate it, he deserves NO MONEY at all anymore from his fans.

He keeps shitting out bullshit excuses, while vomiting out one book after another.

He says:

"I just don't have time to finish it!"

Meanwhile he's writting OTHER books that no one asked for, and taking his morbidly obese ass to every convention that will stuff food down his throat, and money in his pocket.

Seriously at this point FUCK George R R Martin.

Who knew it takes time to write a book.
>>
>>9861377
First of all, you really shouldnt be reading his books because the writing is atrocious. Second, you shouldnt be overreacting to this because it doesnt matter what you or his fans want, even if he's a shit writer, he can write whatever, whenever he wants. Seriously at this point FUCK George R R Martin and his shit fanbase.

>On the outskirts of the city they came to a supermarket. A few old cars in the trashstrewn parking lot. They left the cart in the lot and walked the littered aisles. In the produce section in the bottom of the bins they found a few ancient runner beans and what looked to have once been apricots, long dried to wrinkled effigies of themselves. The boy followed behind. They pushed out through the rear door. In the alleyway behind the store a few shopping carts, all badly rusted. They went back through the store again looking for another cart but there were none. By the door were two soft drink machines that had been tilted over into the floor and opened with a prybar. Coins everywhere in the ash. He sat and ran his hand around in the works of the gutted machines and in the second one it closed over a cold metal cylinder. He withdrew his hand slowly and sat looking at a Coca Cola™.
>What is it, Papa?
>It's the Real Thing™. For you.
>What is it?
>Here. Sit down. Open Happiness™.
>He slipped the boy's knapsack straps loose and set the pack on the floor behind him and he put his thumbnail under the aluminum clip on the top of the Red, White & You™ and opened it. He leaned his nose to the slight fizz coming from America's Real Choice™ and then handed it to the boy. Go ahead, he said. Make it Real™.
>The boy took the can. It's bubbly, he said.
>Go ahead.
>He looked at his father and then tilted the can and drank. He sat there thinking about it. Can't Beat the Feeling™, he said.
>Yes. Life Tastes Good™.
>You have some, Papa.
>I want you to drink it.
>You have some.
>He took the can and Tasted the Feeling™ and handed it back. You Walk on the Coke Side of Life™, he said. Let's just sit here.
>It's because I wont ever get to Enjoy™ again, isn't it?
>Ever's a long time.
>Okay, said the boy.

wtf i love Coca Cola™ now

Human Nature is a term akin to Switch Hook Caramel or Tritone Fencing.

it's not their skin. it's more like a spacesuit that allows them to travel between dimensions. however, it's linked so deeply with their natural born biological systems, responding like an organ to their every wish and need, it might as well be skin.

What are the best non-fiction books that don't require you to read a bunch of books beforehand?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>9865431
First of all, stop being retarded and read more.

Second of all, H.H. Scullard is a great roman historian who I find to be quite accessible.

But if you're really poorly read and must be spoonfed your history in an entertaining yet persuasive way, Erik Larson is the place to start.

i made this thread because i like non fiction and plan to eventually get into the greeks and cover all the major philosophical works at some point in my life but right now i just want to read comfy non fiction books. could be anything, doesn't have to be history or philosophy. could be a book about termites and ant eaters for all i care
>>
What for non-fiction are you interested in? I know psychology, biology and a few others.
And I have to say, the more of it you read, the easier the next one becomes to understand, especially when it is biology.

>>
>>9865149
The pop cultural understanding of the Oedipus complex is retarded. But if you take it as more of a metaphor about how sons eventually come to usurp the roles of their fathers in society it actually has a lot to say. Read Civilization and Its Discontents and Totem and Taboo

(1) We define God as something than which nothing greater can be thought
(2) God as just defined certainly exists as a concept, i.e. in the mind; even the atheist Fool must grant this.
(3) We *can* think of something which is greater than something existing only as a concept
(4) So: something than which nothing greater can be thought cannot exist *merely* as a concept. Ergo:
(5) God - that something than which nothing greater can be thought - exists in reality as well.

Bless y'all.

Anselm's arguments have been refuted.
>>
>>9865082
Don't be lazy. Take a shot yourself.
>>
>>9865073
But you've only proven that the concept of God in my mind has to be thought to exist.
If there were a being which embodies the property of being maximally great in all qualities, then it would have to exist. That's nice and all, but doesn't prove that there actually is such a being.
