When did you realize that the Islamic State is the living realization of the radical Traditionalist revolt against modernity that men like Julius Evola dreamed of?
>>8039219
ISIS is pretty cool once you get down to it. Cyberpunk hackers, neo-situationist rebels taking denouement to extreme new heights, 21st century Rockstars badass tribal warriors and defenders of eternal tradition against modern degeneracy
>>8039219
Is evola the single most fedora tipping 'philosopher' there is?
>>8039230
I feel the same way honestly. At the very least I can't condemn them for resisting globalized modernity in the way that they are
Is there a correlation between homosexuality and creativity/intelligence?
I don't know, but they seem to be a lot more creative than straight people such as myself.
>calling the Greek's gay
>>8037236
As a gay guy im not really creative in an artsy way, although I read a lot and love philosophy. Most gay men grow up more attached to women than men, and it's possible they pick up women's more creative instincts
>Being this new
Science has already proven that creativity and IQ are both elements of the male sperm: it's a well known fact that the number of dicks sucked has a direct linear relationship with the quality of your work and the success of your life.
I can't seem to find very many flowcharts for authors in the sticky, thought it might be nice to do a dump of what we have. I'll go first
>>8033766
I bought pic related.
Did I muck up?
Strictly book readers need to quit their bitching and fuck off. It is still the number one show on television. Just be grateful your book series gets a TV deal in the first place, ungrateful faggots.
>>8052369
>It is still the number one show on television
sadly true
>>8052369
This is the wrong board anon, we don't talk about trash here.
>>8052369
"It's popular therefor it's good"

>>8052348

I work at Half Price Books (largest used book dealer in the US, for those unfamiliar.) as you can see in pic related, it's dead in here. Raining outside. What should I look for to read till I get off?
Paper towns
My Ántonia by Cather. Probably readable in a day and really enjoyable.

All you had to do is not contradict yourself. Thread ruined.
>Freud has taught us that...
>Marx has taught us that...
>Scholars today agree that...
>thinks marx and freud beneath him
>frogposter
>>8050769
Freud was a literal sexist, Marx was a literal bourgeoisie. I wonder why American academia say their names like a broke record when their core ideology is neoliberalism.
How do I become a pesudo intellectual?
read stirner and become a neet
Read the Greeks and engage with the modernity
>>8050605
Practice rhetoric for a few years and then make a career out of publicly defending whatever religion you think will receive you the best. People give guys like that shitloads of money because they're a key part of helping them feel like their beliefs are on even intellectual footing with stuff that's actually taken serious by philosophy departments.
What's your opinion on Dutch literature? Best works?
Stick a Finger In It by Guido van Rudeman
>>8050594
bumping for interest. I am Dutch myself but I lack a thorough knowledge of anything Dutch lit other than Mulisch
>>8050604
Same. I read some in highschool but i have the feeling most of those were shit and it's long ago.
So, I'm an unknown writer (obviously, I'm here) and I was thinking about entering a fiction/poetry contest in a pretty big name journal.
I was about to do it until I started second guessing the entry fee.
I'm not saying I lack confidence in my work, it's just a pretty steep fee for something that's, ultimately, subjective.
Are writing contests a scam?
>>8050472
Traditional publishing is all a scam.
>>8050549
Maybe. I don't have enough of background knowledge to argue otherwise.
>>8050573
It's true. The whole setup they have, whether it's a magazine, publishing house, or what have you benefits editors and critics far more than authors.
