I read Bolano's savage detectives and it sparked my interest for infrarealism movement (a small part of mexican avantgarda) and I can't stop reading about it. Savage detectives is about infrarealism after all.

However, I don't speak spanish and english resources on the web are very limited (Papasquiaro's Advice from 1 Marx disciple to 1 Heidegger fanatic and Papasquiaro and Bolano manifestos). Anybody knows any articles, poems, whatever about infrarealismo or from it in english? For example Anaya's infrarealist manifesto?

I already read all Bolano's published novels and some short stories, but that was neither poetry nor infrarealism.

Bolano's infrarealist manifesto:
http://altarpiece.blogspot.si/2009/06/first-infrarealist-manifesto-english.html

Papasquiaro's manifesto: http://altarpiece.blogspot.si/2013/04/infrarealist-manifesto-mario-santiago.html

Some Bolano's poems:

Also Infrarealism discussion thread.

Reading about it in the spanish wikipedia, and yeah, looks like The Savage Detectives is detailing this shit:
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infrarrealismo

Bunch of pretentious, retarded, marxist faggots with fuck all talent for anything but self-fellating alright. Though then again, that applies to pretty much all postmodernism.

Anyway, try to see if you can understand the spanish wikipedia version. If you are having issues with any section, paste a paragraph and I'll translate it for you.
>>
>>9096019
I am google translating through it right now. I would kill for translation of Anaya manifesto though, I can't even find the original.

Well yeah, but they aren't as self-fellating as joyce. I guess infrarealism is like a stoned shizophreniac dream, yet not without symbolism and substance.

Here's Anaya's manifesto in spanish.
http://circulodepoesia.com/2013/08/jose-vicente-anaya-manifiesto-infrarrealista-de-1975/

... I guess, sure. I can translate it. Give me half an hour or so. Though just by glancing over it, man, am I cringing. But yeah, translating. Be back soon.

So basically this is Canadian / Quebec Pynchon. No one has ever seen him, there are no photos of him etc. He writes more lyric/profound/melancholic stuff about childhood, innocence etc. No irony.
Thought he would be an interesting choice for you.
Cheers mates.

We need a comfy Moomin thread. Who's your favorite character, /lit/?

>>
From what I understand Moomins are some kind of Finnish "meme." I'd like to know more but you're going to have to explain it to me. Is it related to "Return the slab"?
>>
Snufkin's got it all figured out
>>
>>9093879
Hmm, Moomins are characters created by Tove Jansson, Finnish author. She wrote short stories, comics and there is an animated series (also some movies). Although Moomin stories are for kids, many adults like them because they are very deep and comfy. I used to watch the anime when I was a kid and found the stories and comics just some years ago, since then I've tried to find all Tove Jansson books (not only the moomin series, she wrote novels for adults that are pretty good). Give them a try, anon. I suggest starting with Tales from Moominvalley.

Who wants to replace Normie Chumpsky?

I am very interested in rules for writing. I am seeking materials in which the author shares his perspective on what constitutes good writing, material that could be categorized into the same genre as Nietzsche's advice to Salome, George Orwell's 'Politics and the English Language, and Ezra Pound's 'A Few Don'ts by an Imagiste'.

Any recommendations? Preferably essays and lists.

(I'm tackling Strunk and White next, but I already know they will disappoint).

Matters of grammar and syntax also fall into this request. Things of such a nature as 'never end on a preposition', or that 'however' ought to be postpositive.

Ive always been told to keep my imagination "short" and have always found that to improve my writing for what its worth.
