Other than the cast receiver, no carry handle slot, and the $1000 tag,

What's the downside to the FAL Voyager line from DSA?
Sure I can take this to BRG, but they're too busy.

Cast FAL receivers are not the pot-metal Glocknade that their detractors make them out to be, but they will have a somewhat shorter lifespan. You will probably ruin the rest of the rifle before that happens, though.

So i might be moving to San Antonio in a couple of months due to my job. Any /k/ommandos live there or have lived there before and can give me some info about the city, surrounding communities, good ranges to go to and ranges to avoid?

I've never shot around here, but I can tell you New Braunfels, Seguin, Schertz, and Greune (noticing a trend? save for seguin...) are all worth taking a few day trips to. (maybe not Seguin if you don't like hispanics)

In terms of the city of San Antonio, if you haven't taken a day to walk around downtown, you should, as its best to learn firsthand what the city has to offer. You've got a few missions scattered around the place, the Alamo in all its glory, a few historic places to visit, and if you're not afraid to do a little shopping for just souvenirs, then I'd recommend La Cantera, the Marcado, and the shops at La Villita just to get a basic taste.

Only gun store I know of that I personally enjoy is Bracken Guns, but Hill Country rifles is also a place to check out.

Also, become a Spurs fan to fit in. We're on the race for seis now... Brush up on or learn Spanish, as well.

Hope you enjoy it here!

You will never be an operator. How will you cope?

>Tiger Woods, an athlete who at one time dominated his sport like few athletes in history, wishes he'd just enlisted in the Navy and become a SEAL. Woods talked openly to friends and confidants about enlisting in the Navy. "It was very, very serious," the friend says. "If he had had a hot two years and broken the record, he would have hung up his clubs and enlisted. No doubt." Once, Carroll had to talk him down via text message, according to someone present for the exchange, because Tiger wanted to quit golf and join the Navy. There's only one reason to run 4 miles in pants and combat boots. This wasn't some proto-training to develop a new gear of mental toughness. "The goal was to make it through BUD/S," says a former friend who knew about the training. "It had nothing to do with golf."

Tiger and a group of five or six SEALS went to a diner in La Posta. The waitress brought the check and the table went silent, according to two people there that day. Nobody said anything and neither did Tiger, and the other guys sort of looked at one another.

Finally one of the SEALs said, "Separate checks, please."

The waitress walked away.

>"We are all baffled," says one SEAL, a veteran of numerous combat deployments. "We are sitting there with Tiger f---ing Woods, who probably makes more than all of us combined in a day. He's shooting our ammo, taking our time. He's a weird f---ing guy. That's weird s---. Something's wrong with you."

I think that was when he realized, he would never operate.

>Then there's the story of the lunch, which spread throughout the Naval Special Warfare community. Guys still tell it, almost a decade later. Tiger and a group of five or six went to a diner in La Posta. The waitress brought the check and the table went silent, according to two people there that day. Nobody said anything and neither did Tiger, and the other guys sort of looked at one another.

>"Tiger Woods never got wet and sandy," says former SEAL and current Montana congressman Ryan Zinke, who ran the training facility during the years Tiger came around. The BUD/S instructors didn't like the way Tiger talked about how he'd have been a SEAL if he didn't choose golf. "I just reached out to the guys I know who jumped with him and interacted with him," says a retired SEAL. "Not a single one wants to have any involvement, or have their name mentioned in the press anywhere near his. His interactions with the guys were not always the most stellar, and most were very underwhelmed with him as a man."

Don't buy at a gunshow unless you want to overpay for everything. Sometimes you can pick up ammo inexpensively, but the guns are almost always marked way the fuck up.

Hey /k/, I'm looking to get my first handgun. I have a pretty limited knowledge of guns in general despite being around them a lot. I'm learning a little more every day.

With a budget of under $500, I'm looking for something that doesn't require a large amount of knowledge to upkeep and that I can CC when I turn 21. Bonus points for cheap ammo because I will be practicing on the range a LOT.

Pic related, I like the aesthetics and history of both the Walther and Makarov.

Also post CCs

I'm in a similar boat as you anon but there is currently a p-64 thread going. You'll probably have more luck going there than starting a new thread
>>
Makarov was my first pistol.

I had to completely disassemble it to get off the cosmoline (bought mine as unused milsurp) which taught me a lot about the weapon. Unfortunately there's only like one YouTube tutorial that instructs complete disassembly.

I thought it was inaccurate until I bought my glock, now for some reason I've been shooting out the bullseye on targets with my Mak.
Idk what happened but it's definitely an accurate pistol, and easily concealed.

The ammo (9x18) isn't super common, but cabelas carries some good ammo including hollow points and hornady critical defense rounds.

Overall I love my Mak, but I CC my glock because I don't want to put all the wear and tear on my Mak. I just love it too much :,(

Maybe I'll buy a second one
