would it be a stupid idea to try and survive in the bush for 3 or so weeks with nothing but a compound bow, some emergency water and a first aid kit?
>>29899591
shelter? how will you get more water? have you hunted before?
>>29899591
Yes
3 weeks is a lot of socks
Anyone out there a WW1 collector? Here's some of my gear, my penis is obviously tiny hence the massive overcompensator I got in my right hand there.
>>29899583
Jesus Christ, where'd you get that thing?
>>29899714
A museum in Australia had sold it, because they couldn't trace where it was from, unbelievably lucky find, don't think there is many T-Gewehr's in Australia.
>>29899714
It has 'unknown' very faintly written on the side in maybe paint? it was mostly cleaned off it's very faint now.
why doesn't /k/ start a PMC
Legion Puceaux
>>29899503
Because nobody would hire a bunch of fat neckbeards, effeminate crossdressers and hungry skeletons with nuggets in milsurp cloting and ushankas.
>>29899899
Quarante Gâteaux anon
What is /k's opinion on the canik tp9sf? From what I've read, its outperforming the Glock 17 in all aspects, and for a much lower price point and is quickly becoming a preferred gun of choice for tactical shooters.
>>29899436
Made by filthy t*rk pieces of shit/10
>>29899443
Stag mad isis ;^)
>>29899436
At the moment, I don't know why you wouldn't choose one over a Glock, other than perhaps the trigger.
>>29899453
i mean, its $200 cheaper and apparently shoots more accurate.
europoor here, how efficient are kukri at home defense? Gun laws are incredibly strict in Polan. I could get myself a black powder revolver, but im thinking a good melee weapon would be good enough, and kukri looks like a fine tool for being the go-to weapon.
Is there any benefit to the forward-bent shape? Are there any Gurkas who can answer this?
>>29899163
Just get a regular machete and / or a small baseball bat
>>29899177
Increase chopping efficiency for reasons I don't care to get into
They are fine but more reach is better and they are primarily used with chopping/slashing motions so you'll have to determine if you'll have enough room to use it
While they can be used to stab the range is limited, if I were serious about using a mele tool for home defense it would be a short spear like a Zulu iklwa, if it has a longer blade it can be used like a hewing spear for the occasional chop or slash, the cold steel short assegai or boar spear with a shortened haft are some of the better ones I've seen on the market
A short spear can be used in close with one hand or two as you would a bayonet and you will be able to out reach things like long knives, machete and bats
Hey /k/, im turning 21 soon in Arizona and am imterested im buying a handgun to conceal carry for self defence and occasionally to shoot at a range. Im 5'6 and average weight. What are some good options? Money isnt a big deal, im willing to shell out a little more if its something i feel ill have for a long time
Pic not related
Walther PPS M1.
buy a glock 19 and shut the fuck up
>>29898813
No, Glock 23.
So it's popular here because it's cheap?
*was cheap
>>29898686
$150 isn't expensive.
*was popular
So, commissioning via OCS in the army. Lets say somebody finishes out dead middle of their OCS class. Would they still stand a pretty good chance to branch into a combat arms MOS by the end of it? I am talking stuff like infantry, artillery, air defense artillery, Engineer, etc.
Also, how competitive is it to branch ordnance or transportation? Intelligence?
Gonna bump with some operators.

What are the best /k/ related baby names?
The missus liked "Aegis", but wouldn't take any of the other silly ones I'd thought of like Mac or Ike
Though she's proud of her German heritage, I doubt she'd go for Heinz
>>29898049
>>29898049
"Curtis" LeMay
"Edwin" Rommel
Bernard Law "Monty" Montgomery
"Jack" Churchill
"Douglas" MacArthur

"Nex Alea" sounds reasonable to me.
I've noticed that we don't discuss optics much here, at least as is own topic. Anyway, I'm looking for a rare sight and could use some help. Anyone know where I can get my hands on a 1P59 "giperon" scope? It's like they only exist in pictures.
Help, I know one of you faggots has one.
No?
God, nu-/k/ is such shit.
I've been thinking on getting a shotgun to add to my line of home defense items.
I've only shot skeet with friends a couple of times so my shotgun knowledge is limited.
I've done some research and I'm coming up to three models of shotguns and I may regret this, but I'm wondering what you guys think of the following models:
Remington Model 870
Remington Model 1187
Mossberg 500
Mossberg 590
I looked them all over at my local Cabellas and the only thing I like about the Mossberg's is that they will have the capability of having one more shell in the tube compared to the Remington.
What are the pros and cons between the two companies?
I'm looking for more of a milspec shotgun, something I can depend on when the chips are down. I heard that both police and the military use both brands, true or false?
>>29897588
Get the mossberg 500 home and field combo if you're going to be using it for both HD and clays/hunting. Get a pre-freedom group (police magnum preferably) 870 if you want an 870. 590 if you're going for HD only.
>>29897588
get a mossberg maverick 88, its a discount mossberg 500 that costs $200.
Mossberg 500s are pretty cheap, I've picked up two, both were about 150 used, 18 and 28 inch barrels. I also picked up a used 870 tactical for 250. I prefer the 870, it just feels better than my 500s, but they are all good guns. Just look locally online, someone is always selling a decently priced 12 gauge
So I've been genuinely wondering this for a while.
When aiming down a site on a gun (be it iron sites or a holographic site) Are you supposed to close one eye or keep both eyes open?
If so, which method is better?
Do whatever works best for you, sunshine.
Both open for situational awareness. But since you're not a wannabe muhreen, just do whatever's most comfortable.
>>29897582
Sights
Either will work
The Wild Geese is fuckin' gnarly. FALs, UZIs, Roger Moore, Rhodesians for christ's sake. My new fav combat flick. Add your own favs, but no Enemy at the Gates or Saving Private Ryan. We've been through this already.
>>29897560
I'll leave then
>The Wild Geese
>Flamboyant fag medic
>Hamfisted (even by modern standards) racial subplot with crossbow guy and blacks
TWG would be GOAT if there was a recut that dropped some of the fat that has aged horribly. As it stands, its a good movie, but there are long stretches that are just cringe central. As if the saffer would have actually given a fuck about serving with darkies in a mercenary company.
What are some good blunt weapons, /k/? Also, what's the best and cheapest pair of brass knuckles I can but?
Rock in a sock
PR-24, 36" riot baton, 3+ De cell maglight, wrecking bar, demolition hammer, Louisville Slugger.

meme weapon. you have such a small margin of effectiveness, and that margin is wildly uncontrollable. if you have the time to prepare rocks in a sock, you have time to prepare literally anything else. where theres rocks, theres sticks
So, what exactly would happen if someone were to destroy a nuclear submarine in the ocean? Would it irradiate the ocean or do the reactors have some sort of safety shut off?
And if you must ask, yes, I am watching The Hunt for Red October.
>>29897438
well, working off of the findings from the uss thresher and the soviet sub, it bleeds radiation for a long, long time.
basically an underwater chernobyl, not fun shit.
>>29897450
>well, working off of the findings from the uss thresher and the soviet sub, it bleeds radiation for a long, long time.
>basically an underwater chernobyl, not fun shit.
this
but it doesn't really matter because the ocean is a huge place.
>>29897438
Considering 12in of water reduces bassically all radiation to about zero. It's probably not that bad.
