Can someone confirm to me what the magazine limit in NY officially is? Is it 7 or is it 10? My LGS keeps telling people who are trying to transfer guns there they can't take them and forces them to sell, even when it's a couple Ruger .22 pistols.

Is my neckbeard friends story true?

He is an open carry fag and carries his ar around like a tool for no reason. He told me a story that went like this.

>driving on freeway
>see cops stopped up ahead
>they're in a stand off with a suspect holed up in ditch
>he stops and gets out with his ar brandished
>approaches cops and offers assistance
>cops says get over there and provide cover with your ar

Later he says he provided suppressing fire whilst a swat team assaulted the suv

What do you think? Typcial ar15 neckbeard oc fag?

The Rafale's frontal sensor can detect heat emissions from a planes engine from 100 km away. So even if the target is invisible to radar, the Rafale is still able to lock-on and engage the target with missiles out to 100 km. This makes all the work that the US has done with radar-stealth obsolete because the Rafale is able to see the target no matter what. And with the MDBA Meteor the Rafale will have superior BVR performance against any version of the F-22 or F-35.

Thats interesting, considering it has no missile with a range that far :^)

>But what about the Eurofighter and the Gripen, surely they can defeat the Rafale, right?

WRONG.

The Gripen is short-legged and it cannot carry a good payload. Meanwhile the Eurofighter is unable to perform air-to-ground missions and it has inferior electronics and EW capability compared to the Rafale.

Can we discuss barrel liners real quick /k/?

Seems general fudd lore saysits only fit for .22lr, though I found a manufacturer making them for a variety of pistols, straight wall cartridges, and nearly any caliber for black powder.
Fudd lore states "high pressure cartridges will blow the liner clean out!"

Now I know this is complete bullshit as I own two different milsurps that were relined. A carcano-vetterli in 6.5 spaghetti, and a p-26 Finnish m91 in 7.62. I admit the vettei is poor proof as the action itself can't take the pressure for long (if at all for the brave) but not once had the Finn impaled a target with what used to be its rifling.

Simply put, why was this tech completely dropped pre ww2 and only kept around for small time stuff?

I have a few milsurps that would be perfect shooters if their groupings weren't barn sized

Are you trying to suggest that modern rifle barrels are not chrome-lined?

They totally are. That, or some other resistant coating like melonite.
>>
>>29979223
Lining a barrel is great at combining the cost of making a new, rifled barrel with the cost of fairly intensive gunsmithing.

Generally speaking, making a new barrel is now cheaper and easier. They remain for legacy firearms where a new barrel just isn't an option.

For any Mauser action, and for many others, a new barrel is cheaper and easier.
>>
>>29979223
This board is also a terrible place to ask technical and smithing related questions, unless you want advice from 12 year olds on AR handguards.

In the specific role of a subsonic long range round with some armor piercing capability, yeah.
>>
>>29979022
I can't believe that SF really would use that kind of cartridge, is it really that lethal?
>>
>>29979068
It's a subsonic armor piercing round. Fits a niche role; for when you'd like the noise of the body armor being punctured to be louder than the gunshot.

I see a lot of these guns for sale online for pretty affordable but have never considered them as serious options because they shoot a relatively weak, relatively expensive cartridge, and are themselves fairly big and bulky pistols. However, I have seen a few people on gun forums expressing regret that they missed AIM's last batch of them (apparently these people have never heard of Gunbroker, but let's ignore that for now).

So, what gives? Why would anyone want to spend $300 on a 13-shot, all metal (heavy) .380 handgun that's about the same size as a Glock 19?

All that I can really figure out is that it's about the size of a Walther PP, but it has a double-stack magazine. It's like a CZ 83 or a double stack Makarov, but is made in a first world nation and has a locked breech (I think it does, anyway) design. Or maybe it's for people who are big fans of Beretta pistols, and just want to flesh out their collections? Help me understand this, folks.

It's for people who live in countries where you're not allowed to buy the same ammo that the military uses.

Central/South American countries are like this, and they fucking love Berettas for whatever reason.
>>
>>29978947
They are very accurate and very pleasant to shoot. The price is great for a Beretta anything, old and new their stuff is very high quality when you look past the quirks.
>>
>>29978947
It also has a manual safety and is DA/SA, which is preferable for some (including me) to the Glock, even at the cost of a weaker cartridge. It feels very nice in the hand, too. Like most Berettas though, you really should get inox instead of blued.

Hey /k/
Untill recently I never gave much thought about the way I cleaned my AR. I use a one piece coated rod, bronze brush and hoppes 9/ Ballistol and clean breech to muzzle.
However,I have been reading things on the internet that are making me kinda paranoid. You use a coated rod? It's gonna pick up grit and scratch your barrel. You use a Steel rod? It's gonna scratch your barrel because it's steel on steel. You don't have a bore guide(didn't even know those existed)? You are wrecking havoc on that poor barrel.
I find it kinda hard to believe that slowly moving a rod through a chrome-lined barrel could do more damage than a tightly fit bullet travelling through it with hot gasses behind...
What do you guys think about it? Is it really that easy to scratch/damage your rifle barrel?
