Help me out here /k/.
My uncle is pretty much ready to kick the bucket at this point. I was over at his house today to help him with some computer stuff, and we talked about my grandfather's rifle, which will be left to me.
Unfortunately, since it was only in passing, I only got a little information about it. It's a Savage 99, bought in the 50's, and uses a cartridge that isn't made anymore.
I was hoping to get an idea of what this might be exactly (Google has shown me a bunch of different rifles for the Savage 99), and what cartridge this is. He said he had a couple boxes of rounds, but they would have to be reloaded to get anymore as far he knew.
This will turn me from nogunz to onegun, so any help is appreciated.

It shoots the savage .300 which you can still buy online. It's a fun brush gun but the round is hard to find since there are better rounds out there. Get it, clean it, cherish it, and when you get the chance put a few rounds through it.
Bumping. I should also note that the gun was bought on layaway in the 50's, so it would be safe to assume that it was a recently produced model at the time.

The 99 was made in a number of calibers. Do you happen to know which one this is?
>This will turn me from nogunz to onegun
Not a bad start, it's a very good rifle.
What kind of gun is this.

Some guy wanted 300 dollars for this at the local flea market. There are many reasons why I think its fake, but mostly it's that the text is on upside down. More pics to follow.

Here is a flipped version so that the text is legible.

Looking to upgrade my plate carrier. I bought this POS when I was a poorfag. I am less of a poorfag now and I'm looking to get something that is actually semi-comfy.
Pic related, the AR500 PC I own now.

Do you have experience with it?
Do you hike/wear it for any distance/extended period?

What exactly does a Marine Corps ground intelligence officer do? Why do they get training in scout sniper school etc? How competitive is it to become ground intelligence officer at OCS/OCC. In b4 MUHREENS. Bumping with Muhreens
I accidentally posted this in /his/ because I am an idiot.

that ruger gp100 is a fine choice.
How accurate is this?

It's disturbing that some people's perception and conclusions are based entirely off of memes.

Of all the threads I see on /k/, the most trolled and the least quality ones are about Russian guns, with the next most trolled being about Czech guns, then German/Austrian, Italian, and then American. Explain why owners of foreign guns get worse the farther east you go.
Thread for the best deal in firearms. Single shot rifles and shotguns.

Maybe not the best deal, but the answer to a lot of gun questions.
If you've never spent a quiet weekend collecting a hodgepodge mixture of wild game with a single shot 20 gauge, you're wrong.

Sure OP, maybe 5 years ago when they were everywhere.
They're impossible to find these days and everyone always wants $150+ for them. I managed to find one after like a year of casual searching for $150 even but damn, at that price you may as well get a Mav88.

Or maybe a Type 94
You have to pick one...
Either have a XD compact be the only pistol you can own for the next 2 years or..
Ever so gently kiss the tip of a mans penis and fondle his balls for 5 seconds
You do realize most people on here would do the second thing just to do so, gun or not.
>>29954356
Jokes on you, I already CC an XD compact daily.
prove to me that /k/ isn't full of airfags and 12 year olds acting hard with their daddy's gun.
>>29954334
Just how is age supposed to be proven?
Go to an ATF thread sometime. We have a lot of alcoholic 12 year olds that smoke.

Just got membership at an outdoor range that nobody goes to. Thinking of buying pic related as a range toy. Is it a fun gun? I've never had a black powder before.

The 1858 Remington repros are a bit easier to disassemble and clean.
>>29954259
What's the cost on the Remington? I was thinking the 1851 because at Cabela's right now it's like $130 with a coupon. Which is just mad mad cheap.
I bought a sig p250 sub compact for 300, good deal or bad deal ?
>>29954057
Great deal, how many mags and what Cal.
>>29954057
Used? Yes.
New? YES!
Prepare for 50+ posts of people telling you how you bought the worst semi-auto ever made. The P250 is a good pistol.
>>29954057
It's a DA only hammer fired 320.
It's DA pull, is the best smoothest there is but it's still a DA pull will gives the user now opportunity to pull one direction or another when firing. It's a reliable gun and should be good to practice your fundamentals with.
As for the deal you got, I don't think you got screwed or anything.
Is there anyway I can learn British Army training online?
Want to know about tactics, procedure for ordering in air strikes, standard kit, what soldiers shout to each other when the see an enemy, throw a grenade ect.
