Will this ever substitute normal rifles /k/?
>Five of the weapons were deployed with the 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan in October 2010,[13] along with 1,000 hand-made air-burst rounds. The soldiers reported that the weapon was extremely effective at killing or neutralizing enemy combatants firing on US troops from covered positions.

>Will this ever substitute normal rifles /k/?
>instead of rifles, everyone just carries air burst grenade launchers
Think before you ask such questions next time.
>>30144955
Why not?
>>30144947
>Hand made rounds
Christ the hipsters have even gotten to the Army, did they also use locally produced organic explosives?
What are a good pair of boots for flat feet?
Jungle boots nigga
>>30144543
do ballet until your feet arch
>>30144543
>boots for flat feet?
Stop being so overweight that your feet arches give out. I bet your size is in EEE too.
Where is that guy who started sleeping with a Markov when he caught Greys on his webcam after setting it to motion detect?
Also general alien home defense thread
I'd guess he's halfway back to Alpha Centauri by now.
>poorfags actually delude themselves into "preparing" for shit like this
probably out at the local job center like the welfare recipient/makarov owner is.

Just pierce the base of the neck famalam
How does /k/ feel about .22s for self defense?
>>30143923
>unreliable cartridge
>low energy
avoid, 22 is better than nothing but anything centerfire is better than 22
>>30143923
If you're getting a cheetah for any serious use, there's no reason to go for a rimfire. Just get one in .32 if .380 is too lively for you
>>30143923
the .22 short would be almost useless, and a .22LR would be less than useful
I guess I would take one over a knife, but it would be a toss up
you would have to shoot for the head to cause any serious injury, which in a self defense situation wouldn't help your odds getting a hit on target
with a larger round, aiming for center mass means a poorly placed shot could still at least hit a target in the shoulder/arm/gut
aiming for the head would mean a missed shot would have no effect at all
and as has been mentioned, 22's don't feed reliably
there are a multitude of small calibers for hold out guns/pocket pistols out there.
do your own research, I'm a nogunz; but I wouldn't recommend it and I havn't heard many people who would
Just fuck my Navy up

It's the official USN page btw

How does this make you feel?
Jesus christ.
These truly are the end times.
Is it just me, or have pistol caliber carbines seen a significant uptick in popularity recently? Why is this?
>>30143448
9mm box of 50, 9 bucks
5.56 box of 50, $25
That is why.
>>30143448
Because most pistol calibers out of a rifle type system are pretty fucking fun and pistol ammo is cheap as fug
>>30143460
Please tell me where I can get 50 rounds of 9mm for that price that isn't Tula
Not being snarky, I legitimately want to know. I'm getting a 9mm soon and I hunger for ammo.
ITT: Post /k/ tier fictional weapons

But fictional weapons are gay unless they're not fictional

>Anthropomorphic interactable firearm
>Literally a living firearm
>Can interact with its troops and also provide comfort in case shit goes south
>Boosts morale
>Literally the term "An infantryman's best friend is his rifle"
>Turns into the actual weapon when operated by the operator
>Can be modified (Depends on model of firearm)
>Can be fixed if damaged like any other firearm
>Downside if damaged severely and parts replaced, they'll lose their memories permanently
>tfw this will never be real
The only thing that irks my autism is that they're anthropomorphic form are not drawn in the uniform
Hey /k/. Don't post in this board much, but having just recently re-watched Star Wars, it got me thinking about armored walking vehicles.
Under what circumstances,if any, would walking tanks be preferable over traditional tracked or wheeled tanks? If not a good idea now, will technology and/or circumstances ever make legged tanks a practical tool on the battlefield?
They're top-heavy, so none.
>>30143069
That could be mitigated by mounting the legs in a way similar to a spider, allowing it to raise and lower the hull depending on terrain.
>>30143056
Maneuvering through rough terrain is the only benefit I see, but even then we'd just fly over it in the first place and never encounter the rough terrain so I really don't see any purpose.
CZ Scorpion opinion?
Looking to add an SMG to my collection. It is between the CZ Scorpion or the MP5 clone from Atlantic...
Anyone here ever shoot a Scorpion? Thought?
Also what do you guys think about having a SMG in your SHTF arsenal? All of my pistols are 9mm so most of my ammo stash is 9mm. I think a SMG would be a great addition. Thoughts?
Fags

Where do I start?
>>30142431
With .22LR like everyone else.
James Yeager.
Talk to your local shady folk, get a glock or hi-point, and just start blasting people. Cops won't fuck with you because you're 1. armed and 2. (presumably) not muslim.
Good Luck,

Why should I get one over an A4 receiver?
https://youtu.be/IMi2AEbmfK0?t=53
what's wrong with you family
>>30139796
Receiver? Just get an a2 stock.
They aren't. Literally the worst adjustment
A1s are KISS as fuck, and the a4 is the a2 with the option for good optics mounting and good weapon light mounting.
Why aren't airships more common for airlift and replenishment?
They cost a hell of a lot less, more can be supported with a similar amount of people, they carry more and are more economical.
I understand planes when used for fast response. But continuous replenishment should be an airship only job.
>>30138542
>they carry more
I'm calling bullshit on that. Then again, I know jack shit about airships.
It looks like ass
>>30138560
Fucking good.
You'd rather it look like a cock, like a C-17?
Theres a farmer near me with loads of land that I think would be fun to shoot on, and Ive seen people there with guns before but how do I approach the matter of discussing if I can shoot on his land? Im a britbong btw
Pic unrelated
>>30137646
Don't be a SPERG and ask the guy nicely.
Have you tried asking him?
Are they huge tracts of land?
Hey /k/.
How about a thread about the worst of the worst?
The most fucked up examples of firearms to ever leave the factory. Be it shitty workmanship, bewildering design decisions or just abject failure.
If your favorite gun is posted and you get butthurt, you're too easily trolled. But please, do try to keep it on-topic, guys.
To start things off, the relatively unknown Crossfire Mk1. It's a pump-action combo gun (.223 and 12 gauge) that no one asked for and everyone knew would be trash except for the guys making it. Heavy, expensive, clunky, ugly and an all around disaster. It's only worth buying as an oddity you forever leave in your safe.
Next up, the "Zip gun".
This little bugger makes no sense. Why would you want to mount a .22lr pistol onto your rifle or shotgun? Why would you put the charging handle in front of the gun DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BARREL?
Worse yet, the bolt, being made of polymer, is so light weight that almost all of the work in this straight-blowback POS is done by the springs. This means the bolt moves so god damned fast that even Ruger's own magazines are too slow to keep up. You'd figure they would have figured that out in testing, right? Apparently not.
Uncomfortable, of dubious utility and barely functional, this thing was dead on arrival. You would almost be better off with the cheap, home-made single shot "zip guns" people have been making for several decades.
Or how about the now infamous INSAS rifle?
An AK derivative produced by India to be their main service rifle, the INSAS has proven to be a failure in every way conceivable. Inaccurate, unreliable, inconsistent manufacturing... The rivets never seem to be in the same locations from one rifle to another, they have been known to spray oil into the face of the operator, the magazines crack in cold temperature... Every single corner there was to cut has been cut and the result is a firearm that still ends up costing significantly more than it is worth.
Good thing India is replacing it... With a modified version of it called the Excalibur, with changes like having an AR style stock instead...
Now this one might actually piss some people off...
The SPAS-12 has been a staple in movies, tv shows, comics and videogames for decades... But was it any good?
No. No it wasn't.
The gimmick was that it could function in semi-automatic or pump-action if the rounds were too weak to cycle it properly.
Released with a dangerous flaw that caused the gun to fire when flipping the safety, a mechanism that destroys itself without the addition of rubber buffers in the back of the receiver (which have a tendency to degrade), the ergonomics of a brick and a ridiculous price tag made this shotgun little more than an interesting movie prop.
What brought the gentle giant down? Anyone hear what rifle was used? I want to know what drops a 450lb ape.
>>30136217
I thought they shot the gorilla not the ape
a .22
>>30136217

That little ape isn't 450 yet.
