The GIGN is a special force unit supposed to intervene when terrorists attacks occur.
In the night of the 13th of november, we already know the killing in the bataclan started at 21h40 and ended at 0h15.
Almost 3hours in a big city with no elite force acting?
Just so you know, it took less time to special force in norway to reach Breivik and he was on a island and they had no helicopter...
Not only we know that some soldier could have act very early in the killings but again the orders were : don't do anything.
Now we know also that the GIGN had 40 men ready but again : don't do anything.
Here is the source in french

GIGN is a joke.
IIRC this isn't the first time they just sat and waited while shit went down
>>30604868
Classic French men.
>>30604868
For having worked for a French company, I can say that Frenchs love red tape. Nothing gets done without overcomplicated, overthought and tedious directives/processes. No shortcuts are allowed, and should you ever try to do something outside the box, like take a shortcut, the others will sabotage your work (especially if you shortcutted a boss, he will be extremely butthurt and resentful). Once SHTF all the blame will fall on you for not having followed procedures. So, that boss who didn't send the GIGN did exactly what normal French people do, follow dumb procedures and show no initiative. If he had sent the troops and something would have gone even more wrong than it did, he would have been sacked. Instead, he chose the French pépère-pantouflard way.
Today the EU will vote on new gun control laws that would ban all semi autos from civilian possession (including handguns).
Are we fucked /k/?
The EU wont survive another 3 years anyway. I wouldn't worry about it.

Junker please
>>30604861
Yes you are.
The EU is hella regressive.
Let's hope Swissland, Finland, and Czechland all completely ignore it
Why aren't they? Was at my LGS and was looking over a S&W 910 and loved everything about it except for the fact that the mag release is not reversible. Why? Like I get that we are only 10% of the population (this number is growing however because there are no longer nuns hitting your hands until you use your right hand) but wouldn't it make sense for firearms to be ambi all the time or at least convertible for a lefty.
For me, I can think of several reasons why they should be ambi:
1.) What if during a firefight or in the case of a civilian, a self-defense situation your right hand/arm becomes disabled and no longer are able to properly use it for the duration of these events? This seems like a major detriment to either a soldier or a civilian.
2.) What if you are in an accident and permanently lose the use your right hand/arm or at least have limited use of it? Now if you are avidly into firearms you now have a vast collection of firearms you can hardly use or would now make it dangerous for you to use.
3.) This really only applies to bullpups, but what if a soldier needs to fire around a wall or an obstruction from certain angles? This would otherwise expose them too much to return fire by using their right shoulder for shooting. (Pic related below, too small for an OP image.)
Finally why are mag releases not relocated to the heel or part of the trigger guard where it would be universally accessible all of the time? Also making a slide release present on both sides of a firearm does not seem that hard to be implemented. I know there are some designs that have these features incorporated but why has this not been more commonplace for decades now?

Advantages and disadvantages of a sling, compared to bow?
>>30604670
Bows are more of a precision weapon, slings are easier to train people to use and they have more range, but less accurate than a bow in the hands of a trained sharpshooter
Assuming you know how to hit something:
Pro:
Since hunting arrowheads turn into rotating blades once you fire a rock might leave more intact meat when hunting small game.
Also, the longer and sturdyer the sling, the further you can shoot. Or you can use bigger rocks.
It's easier to find fitting rocks then making fitting arrows
Cons:
Penetration kills larger targets better then bashing, because hits to not vital areas will still lead to a lot more blood loss.
Bow formations can be packed tighter with more shooters per area.
>>30604708
you don't hunt small game with hunting arrows. there are blunt arrows for birds/rabbits.
Let's talk.
>>30604644
chechnya not russian
Probably lightweight 10mm if you can get it in FMJ for better wall penetration during drive by's.
Okay /k/ommandos, I have some extra money and I'm considering either an FN Five Seven or a Dan Wesson 1911 in 9mm. (already have two in .38 Super so don't mention that option)
Why not a HiPower? Because I already have 4 and I'm trying to decide between a Five Seven pistol or a 1911 in 9mm. And before anyone mentions it, I have access to "green tip" (IE red box) 5.7x28mm.
So what should I get?
>>30604540
If you gonn get 1911 better put lots of love and care in the parts. Make your pistol personal
>>30604540
Why not .45?
You don't seem to mind getting a gun in a new caliber or more expensive ammo.
>>30604540
>5.7
Why? It's too expensive to be a toy and it's not good enough for a self defense round.
post stories, Infographics, and gear suggestions or the like related to fucking around in the woods or exploring
I have so stuff. Dumping
Is multicam the best all around camo?
>>30604291
If you're gonna ask about camo, why post a webm showing nothing but an empty ship deck?
I dont see anything?
>>30604291
Total side note, I got confused when I first saw this webm in another thread because I read something out of context and thought this was footage from the latest MGS game. When you convince yourself you're looking at a video game it actually looks really uncanny because of the video degradation.
Post traps here

Why does Germany make the best guns? The P320 and H&K VP9 are hans down the best German guns in the market atm
Korth makes some nice guns. I would love a Korth Combat and a PRS.
>>30604267
How is it that Germany has been cucked so consistently by Austria throughout its entire history?
Belgium better
So yesterday was just looking at pictures in google images. It was then i saw this picture of two soldiers. Other one of them had a supressed PKM. That got me thinking, aren't machineguns primaly a loud weapon that is used to supress enemies. More I thinked about it I came up with few options: A) Suppressor is so that the enemy would have a harder time locating the shots. B) Its there so that the gunners ears wont explode. C) It's the special forces, everything needs to be cool and special. D) Just no reason, just looks kinda cool. Give your thoughts /K/.
some people enjoy their hearing, just let it be
>>30603958
With unsupressed machine guns you basically have to change the barrel after so and so many shot because it gets too hot. I imagine if you used a supressed machine gun like a machine gun is intended it would get hotter even faster. Unless we're talking about a water cooled machine gun.
have webm of silenced dshk, but 4chan too shitty poor to upload more than 4mb...
hey /k/ I've been looking at buying some smoke grenades for emergencies and signalling, also just to generally have. but I keep finding that military smoke grenades maybe considered destructive devices but can't get a clear answer. it seems to be a very grey area. so does anyone here own any smoke grenades or know the actual laws on them? I'am thinking it may be illegal to use but not to buy. anyways any input would be great.
Depends
If they have a .mil fuse with some primary explosive that could be removed and used on another explosive, then they're probably illegal
I'm sure there's legal smoke "grenades" that you can buy, though
>>30604063
I thought about that but there are guys selling old new stock military grenades on gunbroker here is one of them and it doesn't say that I need a background check or a ffl or any licensing to purchase. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/570503381
>>30604108
I'm sure it'd be fine then
What are the chances of UK Bros getting some regulations removed and I can finally shoot a desert eagle one handed like in a movie?
>>30603900
Never happen. As far as Britain is concerned the gun argument is settled. If anything they'll make it hate speech to talk about relaxing gun regulations.
Get rid of those dress wearing idiots and you may
Curious as to what the general opinion of /k/ is on homemade armaments. Let's assume a scenario in which there is a substantial lack of arms (Red Dawn, NWO, whatever you mongloids want) and one would have to create one. What is /k/'s favorite homemade weapon?
Bleach based explosives are always fun but they have a shit shelf life.

Then again there's nothing wrong with filling a wine bottle with petrol/Styrofoam napalm.
