What is /k/s opinion of stippling handguns? I know I guy who spent $400 on a frame job from agency (pic related) and I honestly think I could do just as good if. It better myself...so I bought a OTD stippling kit and it arrived today, I'm gonna start out fiddling around on some AR mags tonight just to try my hand at it, I'll post pics if the thread is still up. In the meantime post anything stipple or framework related I guess

it can be practical and look good, but your friend was ripped off

that pic is disgusting. If somebody tried to charge me $400 for that piece of shit I would kill every man, woman and child in their village, burn it to the ground and salt the earth, the neighboring villages too, future historians will never know they existed and their shame will be lost to the ages.
>>
>>32951518
They literally poked it with a soldering iron a bunch of times. They were probably laughing their ass off the whole time thinking about the $400, too.

I have a question. I am wondering about soldier fatigue in reality. When you are running a long time and then need to aim your rifle, how badly are you affected by the fatigue? Is this an issue or not? And how much weight does a typical soldier carry? Thanks.
71 posts and 11 images submitted.
>>
>>32951083
Different people are affected by fatigue differently. As long as you're in shape and conditioned. It won't be bad. If you're a softbody, just stop and give me 10.
>is not being able to hold your rifle up in combat due to fatigue an issue
Don't know.
>weight
Depends.
>>
>>32951083
>how badly are you affected by the fatigue?
Personally not that much, i.e. I can still hit a man-sized target pretty well but there is a noticeable difference in accuracy.
>Is this an issue or not?
It is but how big it is depends on the individual.
>And how much weight does a typical soldier carry?
Hard to say, because I was an atypical soldier. Chest rig weighed about 8 kg, small backpack maybe 10 kg and rucksack anywhere from 20 to 40 kg depending on what I was doing. Add to that the clothes I was wearing, the rifle I was carrying and other stuff I may have had. Overall I guess the whole load was between 35 and 55 kg with the rucksack and 15 to 25 kg without. If there were heavy anti-tank weapons and mines or other large stuff involved, it was 10 to 20 kg more.
>>
>>32951083
How much weight did I carry. Approximately 90 pounds. I am able to do the math based on every piece of gear, I've broken it down before. Minimum 70 UpTo 100.

I was a SAW gunner, we carry the Lmg and a shit ton of ammo.

Fatigue is huge. Don't let anyone on this thread say otherwise. Strength to a point but it's all about endurance.

Also, just for record keeping purposes, I was a USMC 0311, not an 11b. So our shit is more or less the same but just telling you.

I'm leaning towards the original barrel length, but the arty 5.5 barrel length is also quite appealing.

Arguably one of the most hyped concepts in recent firearms history, the Maxim 9 is a dramatic take on a new platform that is sure to take off. A lightweight, compact integrally suppressed pistol that incorporates nearly every feature a shooter wants in a handgun.

Let's take a closer look at how it functions, its features and how it comes apart.

Right off the bat you'll notice ambi controls.

Keep in mind this example is a prototype, the finish on the frame is rough because the majority of it is 3D printed. Production models will be cleaner and injection molded.

The pistol takes readily available Glock mags, huge plus.

It also features a keymod interface on the bottom of the suppressor for a rail segment or something.

>Why ETS mags over magpul or lancer?

because they're translucent, $20 each, and have built in couplers. I already started buying some and smashing them on things and they seem pretty sturdy. The website says they are resistant to heat, cold, chemical, corrosion, etc. One thing I noticed is that plastic/metal mags tend to get cracked/broken feed lips from dropping but the ETS mags feel like a softer/more malleable plastic which would bend more under stress.

First of all before you accuse me of being anti gun or /nogunz/ I own 22 guns and worked at a gun range that rented out full auto funs for almost 9 years. You have no idea some of the shit i've seen. It's a minor miracle that I've never seen anyone brain themselves although it did happen a year before I joined and trust me I've seen many bullets fired into the ceiling. The only reason no one died on my watch is because I started off by loading 5 rounds into the magazine placing my hand on the gun lightly to be ready to control the muzzle if necessary. If you have ever worked in customer service and dealt with the general public you will understand: they are not competent, and they are not safe. It's not just the issue of a few darwin cases either. That i wouldn't have a problem with, it's the fact that these morons will be spraying bullets everywhere that can and will kill innocent people. It WILL cause deaths, sure not 33,000 toddlers like liberals claim, but it will be more than enough for the media to jump on and use as ammo to demonize guns which brings me to my next point.

I want legal cans man, and I want them to STAY legal. I want every day hunters to be able to buy suppressed rifles for reasonable prices so we can wipe out these damn hogs once and for all. This is a great way to make sure that another equally (or more) restrictive gun ban gets passed a few years down the line. I don't want that, and I'm sure you don't either.

Do I want a better market for full autos where I can buy Vietnam Surplus for what it's worth? fuck yes, but there needs to be oversight. There needs to be some barrier to entry for full autos, at least to start out with. We can't get too greedy man. We are so close to destroying support for gun control that we can't afford to fuck this up.

I think
>modern sporting rifle
is a pretty good term from a propaganda perspective (which let's be honest, is the intended purpose of the term.) This term is good for two primary reasons:
1. "Modern." Everyone wants to be modern. Being called "old fashioned" is an insult to the sort of low-information anti-gun DNC voter this terminology is intended for.
2. "Sporting." Everyone likes sports, or at least respects sport as a legitimate peaceful hobby. This term doesn't bring to mind any sort of violence (either assault or defense. Remember that even violence in self defense makes anti-gunners feel uncomfortable in a way that sport shooting doesn't).

>self loading rifle
This is fine but a bit too functional. It lacks much emotional impact

>repeating rifle
The problem here is people think of lever guns. Also "repeating" is a bit too functional and it's easy for liberals to be afraid of "repeating" anyway, reducing it's propaganda effectivness

>defensive rifle
Sounds too reactionary. If you say "defensive rifle" people will think that's just a reaction to "assault rifle", which of course it is, which reduces it's propaganda effectiveness.
