Wew lads. Wew. Not entirely unexpected but still mind-boggling

not disagreeing that its crazy but also makes me think, how relevant are huge attack submarines these days? not saying that they aren't, just wondering what role they play
like when was the last time a country actually used a huge submarine to attack something
>>32942950
Not that long ago. USS Louisville and USS Pittsburgh fired in anger during Desert Storm in 1991, and HMS Conqueror sank an Argie cruiser during the Falklands in 1982.
Not a "huge attack submarine" but a Nork sub sank the ROKS Cheonan in 2010.
>>32942981
Also,
>inb4 1991 was a long time ago
Literally who the fuck else has had anything floating to shoot at? I mean, there's unconfirmed reports of US attack subs firing cruise missiles in support of OIF and OEF, but they're unconfirmed, and literally every other conflict that actually had shots fired that involved someone with attack subs was against a third-world landlocked insurgency.
What is your opinions on the OICW and it's ilke?
>>32942755
I didn't really like Battlestar Galactica
>>32942755
it was a retarded concept but it led to a bretty good grenade launcher so I'm ok with it
>>32942755
>C-wire gloves
They really were trying to create the least practical infantryman with that project. I know for a fact that CVC and flyers' gloves existed back then and they put the poor bastard in c-wire gloves.
Why is there no project for land forces that is similar to F-35?
What I mean is, look at Merkava, there is a MBT, IFV, a proposed wheeled vehicle and a proposed SPG based on the same chasis even though Merkava wasn't actually designed for this. I wonder if it would be good had the concept caught on and an actual chasis for several purposes had been designed. It'd also simplify logistics quite a bit, and you'd be able to push old ones into less critical positions with a turret switch.
Also why doesn't anyone do front engine anymore?
>>32942616
>proposed wheeled vehicle
The Eitan is not based on the Merkava's hull.

>Massive Behemoth Tonnage chassis should be the same standard as other frames.
Strykers and Bradley's are fairly modular from what I can recall.
>>32942780
My bad, I just assumed because of its looks.
>>32942786
>Massive Behemoth Tonnage chassis should be the same standard as other frames.
But 44t (Type 10) or 50t (Type 90) or 46t (T-90) is quite possible, and it is acceptable considering Bradley is about 30t and they're constantly adding stuff to it. I don't think being a behemoth will benefit tanks that much in modern warfare anyway.
I heard this is the place to go for weapons questions. How do I get a bazooka like the on in the picture I posted?
>>32942605
Buy a deactivated one and reactivate it on a Form 1, stupid.
>>32942605
funny you should ask, we were just discussing that.
http://www.autoweapons.com/products/destructivedevices.html
lot of money and paperwork. deactivated ones are cheaper if you just want one for your wall.

I want a bazooka so i can blow stuff up.

Hey buddy whats that on your wrist? Is it your GPS coords?
>>32942577

I just started a machine shop job and I wanted a few projects. I'd like to make an oil filter adapter for an AK. Can someone link me to a schematic please.
>>32942492
hi atf
>>32942492
I'm sorry sir but that would be illegal without the proper stamps and paperwork
Alright. So how come I can pull back a straight pull bolt but the force of bullet detonating in the chamber doesn't blow it back open?
>>32942390
Basic physics.
>>32942390
Because locking lugs
When you pull back on the bolt handle it turns the locking lugs, unlocking the action
Are snake guns a meme? Are venomous snakes a legitimate enough threat to justify the need for a handgun that can dispatch them or is this just a sales gimmick?
>>32942264
copperheads
other Texans will understand this
>>32942264
It's just an excuse for buying a cool gimmick, the same way people who buy magnum handguns are never actually expecting to face off with a bear.
>>32942264
>Creature that is stealthy and can kill you with a single bite
>Not a threat
ITT ATF is doing an inspection on this board
Battle buddy thread it is.
Boating thread!
Hey guys. I recently purchased a .22 suppressor, but sins it has been over 6 months, and when I contacted my buddy who ran the shop that sold it to me, he said mine was still going to need a few months till I get it. I started looking into alternatives, and saw the oil filter suppressors. I'm wondering if you guys had any experience and if you know the legality of them. Specifically in Texas
>>32942239
Do you own any dogs?
>>32942287
Why can't you shoulder it?? That is something I never understood!?
>>32942368
shouldering it constitutes re-manufacturing the weapon as a rifle. a short barrelled rifle specifically which is illegal unless you pay the tax stamp
>daily reminder that you will never feel the wonderfully soft recoil or the surprising accuracy of a 550
Truly the best AK platform.
The Swiss just make good shit.
>that knot on the barrel
Swiss engineering is best engineering
>>32942176
But what does it do?!
Why invent 338 lapua when 300 win mag was already a thing?
Why invent cartridges that are very similar to already existing ones?
>>32942022
Because this is America, dammit
>>32942022
Cause .038 more
.338 Lapua has like 20% more energy, it's firing heavier bullets at the same velocity. It's gunna do better at long range.
So one of the family cars was stolen last week out in the street. Out of worry my aunt parked her car where we can see it from the second floor windows, and conveniently in perfect sight from my room.
There's been a string of car thefts in the past two weeks, would I be okay firing a few rounds of ..223 from my window at anyone trying to steal another one of our cars?
Pic ever so slightly related.
Generally no, but it depends on what state. Some states allow shooting someone to defend your property
>>32941985
>What state
Yeah, I should've mentioned that. I'm in Texas, Duncanville to be precise.

So /k/, what do we think of the h9? Abomination or the high power 2.0? On paper it looks good and everyone at shot show was sucking this things dick. Any flaws or obvious things to watch out for? It could be a pretty cool gun in my opinion
>>32941934
>we
Stop giving a shit what /k/ thinks, anon. /k/ is equally divided between people who know what they're talking about, people who don't, people who do but shitpost based on their opinions, and people who don't but shitpost based on their opinions. Like what you like and don't give a fuck what anyone else thinks. Unless you're just asking out of curiosity, which is fine. Sick of people asking if things are /k/ approved like they have to please internet stranger faggots.
>It could be a pretty cool gun in my opinion
It could be, but in my opinion, despite looking cool as fuck, I think it'll end up being a gimmick like the KRISS Vector, where the theory behind it is sound but the cost will deter it from ever being popular. Also people bitch about how mounting a light on it would be way low despite that like 10% of people mount lights on their guns. Truth is most folks can't or won't spend $1100 on a pistol, especially a brand new unproven one.
>>32941934
At the very least it's sci-fi as shit.
If it's good enough to still be being sold in five years I'll grab one.
