Good afternoon /k/ommandos, I am starting this thread as a sort of companion to the Warsaw Pact threads that show up here from time to time. I've learned quite a bit from those threads and have accumulated rather large picture folders for the Combloc military forces of Eastern Europe, however I do not have corresponding folders for their counterparts. It appears there's a lot less media of NATO forces from the Cold War period, so I'm wondering if you guys have anything.
Going to start with some BAOR forces.
P.S.
While part of the Cold War, I would refrain from posting Vietnam stuff since we already have entire threads dedicated to that and we only get 150 images to a thread.
More Chieftain tanks. They have a bit of a mixed combat record since the one time they were used en masse in the Iran-Iraq War, they got screwed pretty badly fighting Iraqi T-55s and T-62s during the Battle of Dezful (pretty sure it was Dezful, might be wrong). Granted I attribute most of the Chieftain casualties to the atrocious Iranian battle strategy and shit terrain (plus the Iraqis were waiting in hull-down positions), but that still doesn't make for a great track record. Maybe with British crews and the updated later models things are different, but that's what we got for actual use.
Another Chieftain.
Some members of the BAOR. Paging autist anon for details on the British Military during the Cold War, I have very little background knowledge on it.

You're looking at a gun
Considering you didn't know what kind of gun it is, whether or not you want it, or what its value is to you, let alone the fact that you didn't know it was a gun means you should not spend your already poverty levels of chump change
are winchester 1300's as good as the mossberg 500 or remington 870s?
i have a mossberg 715t that i got as a gift and i was gonna sell it and buy a mossberg 500 or remington 870 but a friend offered to trade me a winchester 1300 for it

also this.
A place to share books, stories, and assorted writefaggotry.
All writing is welcome, even if it's only tangentially related to /k/.
Give thanks to Polybus and Archivefag for keeping /wfg/ afloat.
It's been unscientifically proven that a lack of (you)s for writers can lead depression, alcoholism, story abandonment, and an hero.
But it's so easy to make a difference in a writer's life. Just one (you) a day can make the difference between a happy writer and a writer on permanent hiatus.
Please, post now. Help make a writer's day.

ULTRAMARINE-COLOR COCKED BERET!
I didn't see one and I have questions.
what's a good price for mosin-nagants and what the hell should I look for as a collector who likes to shoot?

Subtle.
I love it.

>what's a good price for mosin-nagants
Depends on what model, manufacturer, and nationality you want. The most common Mosins available right now, the M91/30 infantry rifle refurbs from Russia and Ukraine, go for about $250 online these days.
>and what the hell should I look for as a collector who likes to shoot?
Matching serial numbers, bore condition, stock condition and fitment, feel of the trigger, etc.
>>33692269
> bore condition
should I go for bored or counter-bored?
I see a shit ton from black market arms and was contemplating grabbing one of the cheaper ones.
Best frigate-class reporting in.
>>33690595
I'm gonna say the Iver Huitfeldt is a slightly better frigate, on account of the lower crew requirements.

Condor Hudson Bay
>>33690548
I'll have to take a pic latter, along with some new stuff I got (not knives, but related) later.
But I think the smallest would be my Spyderco Bug, and largest (knife) would be my XL Espada. My largest blade would be my Valiant Armory Longsword.
What are some of the guns that you want to own but never will?
My grandfather's WWII service weapon which would be an M1 Carbine. I mean the exact same weapon.
Probably sitting in South Korea or some asshole's collection right now. And I'll never get to hold it.
