It's far too repressed in Western society at the moment still, which is why the excessive expressions of sexuality in the West (particularly the United States) came as a reaction of that. I think sexuality needs to find a good balance, I feel an extreme reaction to current trends will pop up. People already brand others as degenerates, but these are usually autistic people with sexuality issues of their own projecting onto others. Like most things it has good and bad effects. The good effects is that itncsn be used to bring large groups of people together into cohesive societies and nations that can perform certain tasks more effectively. It is not the only force that create a shared sense of identity however.
On the bad it can lead to people becoming to rigid in their ways because they expected to follows uniform culture in order to be a member of a nation. It can also result in excluding people's that don't fit into the nation. This means that the state's will have access to less resources. Also, patriotism can be used to silence those who have real and necessary criticisms of the state or nation.

However they only have themselves to blame since during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, whilst yelling at the Habsburgs for MUH SOVEREIGNITY, they were in turn telling minorities within the "Hungarian" lands of the Empire that they weren't whatever they are and told them they had fake nations and they were Magyar.

Hungary needed to lose some land and were hypocrites in demanding independence while still ruling over Croats, Slovaks, etc., but got stripped of too much. Their 1941 borders are actually fine and Horthy was probably the least evil of the Axis leaders.

The thing you need to understand about the Balkans OP is that they're not people. Not being /pol/ here, but not 'human' in the sense that we think of other humans.

It's hard to put my finger on it actually, but all Balkan men have a condition of perpetual butthurt. At life, at history, at their neighbors, at other people. Someone who is always angry cannot become great and this infuriates them. To be great you need discipline, you need focus, you need a calm temperament.
