>look into university history curriculums
>60% courses are about national history of my irrelevant Balkan state
>the rest is minor courses on european history
Why are national programs so terrible? This is why Europe needs to be violently integrated and cured of its national myths.
Any State sponsored university has a unstated interest in keeping the State happy. Be too controversial and they pull funding.
That last panel would work better as a pompei graffiti. Real reason why I posted.

What are some critiques of Plato's Theory of Forms?
Aristotle's metaphysics.
I like the the theory of forms when it comes to mathematics but the idea that there is a such thing as 'computerness' or 'phoneness' or 'beerness' floating around in the ether does strike me as a bit ridiculous.
>>1286257
if you construe the "ether" as each individual's brain matter then plato was pretty close to the mark, though only for how each individual brain works. for example we have a form of "chair" in our mind that is informed by all past chairs we have interacted with and each new chair is mapped onto. but I don't see how there could possibly be the form of "chair" outside a human cognitive frame of reference

Perhaps it was to be honest.
Charlemange was the first to gain the title of Holy Roman Emperor, because he kicked the muslims out of France and went on a crusade to convert/kill the Saxon's till they accepted Christianity.
For all purposes, the Carolingian Renaissance did seem to be a revival of many Roman traditions after antiquity and he largely did restore Imperial rule in the West.
If you can consider the Roman Catholic Church to be the spiritual and in ways cultural dictate of the Roman Empire, Charlemagne as the dude who reunified the West into a coherent Empire and who did try and revive Roman tradition (ie Carolingian Renaissance) + added legitimacy at having kicked muslims and pagans out,
plus the notion that Catholics were Romans, and him being the new protector and Emperor of these Roman-Catholics (Church being the biggest attempt at Roman continuity)
Holy Roman Emperor seems like a pretty fitting title

Why is that two headed eagle not some kind of monster in DnD?
Why didn't it find its way into mythology, like existing in a fable?
Too cool of a thing to just remain as some old timey symbol for dead empires 2bh

First of all, basing knowledge on sensory experience automatically puts focus on the individual, since it is always an individual's senses that are experiencing something. Any talk of 'general will', 'spirit of the people', 'historical inevitability' and the such simply has no place in this context. Politics can only be seen as concerning a set of individuals, never a nation or some other collective entity.
Further, any large collective projects undertaken by the government (or some other political body) can never be justified by the before mentioned collectivist understandings or rationalist grand theories. They can only be justified in the utility that they would produce, and that needs to be guaranteed by actual experience of previous such projects.
Therefore, massive changes are something that will always be seen with scepticism, and as such they are more likely to be rejected in favour of smaller, safer, experience-based actions and plans: 'small, limited government', 'letting it trickle down', 'letting things sort themselves out', etc. It basically turns into a sceptic justification of the status quo, as long as the status quo guarantees certain basic rights to the individual.
In the end, just compare the list of famous liberals with the list of famous empiricists (and persons from subsequent schools) and observe the massive overlap.
What are the best books on these two men?
I've been intending to skim through these ones, considering that I've been told that they're entertaining (erm, therefore is difficult to nuance whether those are your aims, given that "best" isn't that precise of a criteria). Supposedly does a run-through of his career.
It hasn't been disclosed to me though whether it has a translate version.

I know that england declared war on Germany afterwards, but why did he decide to invade france?
He should have known that the French would never submit to german rule, the might take France, but they could never keep it.
He should have stopped at Poland, sealed up his boarders and waited it out.
At any rate, invading Russia was fucking foolhardy, I don't know how no one could have been like, "Umm, mien fuhrer? I think this is maybe not being such a good idea..."

>>1285810
Invading Russia was always the plan, it was THE reason for Nazism to exist. Invading France was necessary after the Allies DoW, Hitler's real mistake was in breaking the Treaty of Munich and so revealing himself to be a liar. After that, there was no more room for a negotiated settlement over Poland since the Allies had no confidence Hitler would confine his ambitions to the Polish Corridor.
>>1285810
Becase he wanted France. Among other things. So he needed his east border secured. That's why he tried to ally with Poland and when that failed he allied with Soviet Union which some faggots still ignore. Then they defeated Poland waited a bit and turned to France that was still patiently waiting for the attack all this time.
