The SA were basically a "workers army".
But in 1934 Hitler "betrayed" National-Socialism by allying himself with the bankers and the conservative elites, who wanted to keep their power, and he brutally eliminated the social elements of the movement.
The Night of the Long Knives happened and we also got the horror of WWII.
