When did music become a thing that made you a celebrity and not a slave that plays an instrument or sings to amuse a King or other rich people? Also when did celebrity status in general become a thing for people with useless talents like sports? Weren't they just slaves playing for the amusement of common folk and their rulers?
capitalism

This.
Or just the end of feudalism in general.
Anarchists made some nice music imho.

>When did music become a thing that made you a celebrity and not a slave that plays an instrument or sings to amuse a King or other rich people?
For Europe, the 18th and early 19th century. First it was famous castrati like Farinelli, then later instrumental virtuosi like Paganini and Liszt. It's tied to the emergence of bourgeois audiences which meant musicians could perform for someone other than the courts.
How did the Spanish subdue the Caribbean and Americas while outnumbered and without the use of firearms?
But they used firearms?
>>1921542
They didn't. Firearms of that period were awkward, expensive, and largely unavailable.
From what I read so far, the conquests were done by horseback and melee engagements. Horses were not used in the Americas and the natives didn't have the knowledge of how to combat cavalry.

People who fucked up big time.

christianity or islam.why?
>>1914368
I'm an atheist through and through, but assuming I'm a King and I were to be forced to choose between the two, I'd choose Christianity for the populace. At the very least Christianity has managed to solve its doctrinal issues through centuries of warfare. Now they're pretty chill (Ireland being the exception). Islam has not yet been able to fix its doctrinal issues so it's much more likely to lead to civil war/social unrest by its inclusion.
Furthermore Islam is much more of a political ideology as well. Any society that is infected by it, slowly but surely has its characteristics eroded in favour of a barbaric worldview. I don't doubt that given a couple of centuries it has the potential to be the docile version of modern Christianity, but that won't happen anytime soon.

Islam
Society at large will treat you like a white during apartheid, you can get away with treating your wife like a slave and refusing to interact with homosexuals, and you'll be well-prepared in case the /pol/ Islamic takeover meme somehow becomes real

Russian conservative monarchists are super pissed about an upcoming Russian film, 'Matilda,' which purports to tell the story of Nicholas II's affair with a teenage ballerina before his marriage.
They are trying to get the film banned for "offending religious sensibilities," on account of Nicholas II being canonized in Russian Orthodoxy.

Duma Deputy Natalya Poklonskaya, the former Russian chief prosecutor in the occupied Ukrainian region of Crimea, will file a legal request with authorities about the film.
She's a super monarchist who, for some reason, decided to carry an icon of Nicholas II during an Immortal Regiment march to celebrate the defeat of the Nazis... which is meant to celebrate the fallen soldiers and veterans of WWII.
>>1919436
When did she get into the Duma?
>>1919436
>Ukrainian region
no such thing
So why exactly were the Ottomans involves in WW1 and how large was their role? They don't teach this shit in school

The most decorated soldier in U.S. history was 5'5". Exactly how powerful is manlet fury?
>>1913015
Audie isn't the most decorated soldier in U.S. history, just the most decorated in WWII. Some Spec For Colonel in Vietnam was most decorated of all time.

Is that so? How tall was he?
>>1913050

Well, people only use it because of V for Vendetta anyways. I doubt most of the people who wear it know its actual significance.
How can a culture be considered "sacred" when most elements of it are taken haphazardly from foreign sources? My country's religion started in the Middle East, and almost none of its major figures lived anywhere near my country. More than half our language is loan words from other languages. Our dances, food and past times are derivative or outright copies of other things. Why then should I care if someone wants to "force his culture" on me, provided that their culture is beneficial?
>>1925541
>How can a culture be considered "sacred" when most elements of it are taken haphazardly from foreign sources?
Because people are stupid and afraid of change.
People are too used to the culture they know to recognize the foreign elements.
Some cultures are very enlightened and modern

why is it called a revolution when it was actually a revolt
>>1925213
sounds cooler
>A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turn around") is a fundamental change in political power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time when the population rises up in revolt against the current authorities.
Fucking idiots
Why have literally all attempts of communism, turned into something that was actually almost the opposite of communism? Why has real communism never been tried?
It has been tried, its never succeeded. That's the point.
>>1925082
In all these examples the state immediatly seized the means of production, instead of the workers
communism good
communists a shit
>According to a genetic study in 2000 based on HLA, French from Marseille "are more or less isolated from the other western European populations. They are in an intermediate position between the North Africans (Algerians from Algiers and Oran; Tunisians) and the western Europeans populations (France, Spain, and Portugal)".
>According to the authors "these results cannot be attributed to recent events because of the knowledge of the grandparents' origin" in the sample.
>This study reveals "that the southern French population from Marseilles is related genetically to the southwestern Europeans and North Africans, who are geographically close" and that "a substantial gene flow has thus probably been present among the populations of these neighboring areas".[121]
