What would Russia have looked like if Stalin hadn't effectively usurped the throne?
What if Lenin's testimony was read out? What if they adopted Lenin's New Economic Policy instead of Stalin's conservationism? What if Trotsky became leader?
>>1932970
>What if they adopted Lenin's New Economic Policy instead of Stalin's conservationism?
Collectivization*
>>1932970
Almost anybody would have been a better leader than Stalin.
>>1932970
>What if they adopted Lenin's New Economic Policy
They did while Lenin was alive. It helped a bit, but the real problem was the inefficient nature of planned economies

>he lived in Georgia(Soviet) under Stalin
>he literally said he was worse than Hitler
>he said everyone is his village was a Hitler supporter and wanted them to destroy Stalin
What exactly did he mean by this?
As far as I know, Hitler is the most evil person, why is my grandpa so bluepilled?
>>1932677
>why is my grandpa so bluepilled?
Because your grandpa know what he´s saying. He actually lived under the communism and The Red Terror.
Your grandpa was probably a kulak in a backward reactionary mountain people georgian village that's why.

The rise and fall of ancient Egypt.
Please don't post that frog, it's political now
This, it's great if you like early modern history. Deals with several aspects of the era, from Charles V's wars with the Ottomans and France to Martin Luther's defiance of the Catholic Church.
>>1932546
>Please don't post that frog, it's political now
are there actually people on 4chan right now triggered by Facebook frog?
What did the Austiran Empire (and Austro Hungarian Empire.. if they are different at all) actually do before WW1? Any major battles? Any kickass events?
And I have seen some kinda meme picking on Germans for trying to destroy Europe and all.. Are the Austrians better? Or worse in their own vices?
Are Austrians and Germans different in anyother way rather than dialect etc? Any cultural differences?
And last question. Austrian Coffee House or German Beer Hall?
>>1932250
Austrian*
Pardon the typos.
>>1932250
The Austrian Empire was the dominant great power in central and easter Europe before the ascent of Prussia.
>>1932250
It was corrupted shithole without any idea about the future. Instead they forced old fashioned reactionism what caused our destruction.

In the colonial era, was there ever large scale lands battles? Or was it just naval battles, small skirmishes and cities/forts sieges?
>Pic unrelated
>>1932145
I meant in the carribeans colonial era sorry
>>1932145
Might be stretching it into a different timeline but the Haitian revolt and the French troops vs natives?
Or that time France tried to install a puppet state in Mexico?
>>1932161
Tbh, most of the battles opposing euros vs natives were most of the time skirmishes or village burning
Why is this so prevalent in the U.S.?
I think it's pretty easy to understand why many of them deny having any apes in their family tree
It's racism.
>>1932130
>It's racism
Are you implying that black people are apes?
>>1932228
On a Freudian level, yeah, that's why Americans chimp out over claims that they are descended from apes.
What do you think of the concept of innocence? Is it acceptable to lie or hide information from your child to "protect" innocence?
Why?
>>1931925
Isn't the fact that dysfunctional people raise more dysfunctional people (compared to functional people) proof enough?
>>1931925
Children shouldn't be traumatized. That comes later, when they grow up.
>>1931925
Are we talking "Santa is real"-tier lies, or "starving thai hookers don't exist, there's no suffering in the world"-tier lies?
Your sarcastic quotes tell me you already have an opinion, though, so why make this thread?
It's the 99th anniversary of the October Revolution today /his/
What are your opinions on the revolution, the RSFSR/USSR and socialism/communism as a whole?
I admire Rosa Luxemburg so I'm quite critical of it but I'm interested to see what you think
>>1931899
Failed state. If we learned anything from it it's that authoritarian states will struggle in the era of information
[COLLAPSE]
>>1931899
Nice job of German spies.
Hello /his/. I have been interested in philosophy for a long time, but i never got around to reading it. What are the absolute must-reads of philosophy and religious texts?
>>1931683
>What are the absolute must-reads of philosophy and religious texts?
Why not start with a philosophy textbook and after that you decide what to read about more in depth?
>>1931778
I thought you could give me some recommendations for a newbie.
>>1931826
>I thought you could give me some recommendations for a newbie.
I'm preparing to get ass-blasted but the philosophy books that I've read so far, hardly impressed me. In other words: I think they are a waste of time.
However, within philosophy there are important concepts and ideas. Go to plato.stanford.edu and read that stuff. Read a textbook. See what you want learn about more.
Even popular scientific books and textbooks from other sciences will treat philosophers and their ideas.
And I think that some people read philosophical books for subjective reasons instead of learning something. Someone like Kant might hardly be pure ideology, but I would say someone like Nietzsche is.
So suggesting you to read Nietzsche, of which I like certain ideas, would make little sense to recommend.
But as you might notice I am not exactly a philosopher kind of person, and most likely really piss students of philosophy and philosophers off. Just consider that the philosophy book I did enjoyed was from a non-philosopher: Nassim Taleb.
He connects philosophical concepts and ideas with science such as the science of complex systems and thus it makes more sense to me.
So really, you need to start reading about it in general, and look at what you want to learn more about or which you want to delve deeper.
Okay so now that we know that elites regularly fuck kids and worship Satan, let's discuss why is it that power almost always brings out the worst in people and turns them into monsters.
One would expect more rationality and reason from those who can judge the society from a bird's perspective, but it's obvious that such levels of power will naturally cause twisted perceptions of the world. Those who have it all will want even more, and that will throw them into depraved, questionable stuff, because they need to prove to their inflated ego that they are above everything, even laws they personally set upon those beneath them.
It seems like morality and self-respect don't exist in this world of elites. Was it always like this? Is power inherently corruptible? Can anything be done to change it?
>>1931662
yes, give me all da powa!
babby fuck?
it's awwwwwww right
Most elite are not pedophiles and have no motivation to do so.
