I know the mechanical reason why Civilization made Gandhi a warlord but how possible would it have been for the actual Gandhi to have snapped and become a warlord?
Would probably have to happen in South Africa when he was racist to blacks. Maybe some native assaults an Indian and he goes crazy and starts a riot against all blacks.
In reality though, this is a shit question and I don't know why I bothered making a response when the likelihood of this happening is close to 0.

He would have lost all his credibility and moral authority, so "not very".

ghandi was a bad ass, i wouldn't be so sure. while his dad was on his death bed, ghandi was in the next room fucking his bitch. true story. ghandi said he regretted it but who knows what could unleash that beast again.
Can Christianity and Islam really coexist peacefully when both are proselytizing religions?
Christianity wants everyone on earth to be a Christian. Islam wants everyone on earth to be a Muslim. Sooner or later, something has to give, right?
They'll water themselves down once the standard of living for each group gets high enough. Muslims are more resistant to it but they'll still erode to enough reasoning over a few generations.

sure....
>*kills you for being an infidel!

Gulf states don't exactly have a poor standard of living.
Why does history teach that this man was a hero? He was a pinko terrorist who gleefully sang songs endorsing the genocide of Europeans, tanked his labor market into the ground, transformed his nation into the rape capital not of Africa but of the entire planet (25% of South African men admitted to having committed rape in a 2009 survey by MRC), and flooded it with AIDS and migrants.
All things considered, he was a terrible person

What is the point of monarchy in a society with a free-thinking, educated middle class?

No point. Extremely suboptimal for said conditions.

What is so wrong about "an eye for an eye"? I'd say there isnt justice in a criminal murdering someone and getting to keep having a life 20 years later.
Its worse with murderers who are under 18 that only get 5-10 years in Juvie.
If human beings aren't challenged, they become complacent and ignorant.
Hence why it's the industrialized social democracies that come up with all this stupid shit about abolishing capital punishment, or ending war, or mass immigration from third world shitholes.

They should just be stentenced to death, it's the most human things to do with our technology.

The problem is thanks to various bureaucratic and legal red tape it takes years to finally execute someone, at least in america.
>there are people who still believe in 20th century communist ideas
Guys, it ended. We have to reform the ideas again and do not do shit until we have any ideas. You know what happened in Greece, Syriza won, and well, they have no fucking ideas and they still do shit.
I fucking hate MLs, democratic socialists and other 20th century bullshit.
Reform ideas as it is fucking 20th century and we have fucking internet.
Stop being lazy pieces of shit worshiping USSR.
It was shitty as any eastern bloc country as they were fucking poor.
Communism, as every idea it needs reforming. There wasn't fuck huge middle class in USSR and there is no down-trodden proletariat now.
I hate this 'le lets do revolution' guys, how are going to revolution when you fucking first have to gain privilege to work.
But nobody still got their shit together for 21st century. But we are fucking idiots for thinking that any idea which was used in completely different world of 20th century can be used today.
Also fuck those liberal leftist, but they are just continuation of demsoc ideas of 20th century.

During the Iran-iraq war ( what a shit name, I prefer to call it the first of the three persian gulf wars), the American f class fighters were able to dramatically outperform the mig class fighters. Why? The soviets had stolen the AIM9 technology long ago.
It wasnt even ground missiles: there were ore iranian aces, although the best ace was the single Iraqi one with only fighter kills.
Can somebody with a lot of knowledge on this suggest somw books?
Bumpalumpbumpalump
Really an underrated war desu. It was one of the largest and most tactically diverse wars in recent history but nobody knows shit about it.
At least part of it is probably down to Arab pilots.
real talk here, who would win; a low-tier angel or a high-tier combat saint (such as saint george) BUT he is armed with the holy lance of longinus
well, what is it /his/?
Angel wins in all wings, however who wins is up to the blind god.
>>2023748
That's an eternal battle, if by saint you mean a Christian who is already dead.
If your "saint" is still alive, the angel wins, easily.
the least of the angels can kill the entirety of humanity, if left unchecked.

Could he defeat Achilles?
No mortal man could equal Achilles, in combat.
>>2023718
What if he wrote a skirt?
Achilles is universally recognized as the greatest warrior of the age, so no. I bet Herakles could take him, though.

What do phil majors do with their degrees? All I ever hear is "as a philosophy major, you would have so many options that blah blah blah" and "haha flip burgers haha" and "LSAT".
But on a more serious note, has the value of a phil degree depleted (or if you think all degrees have, has phil depleted more in particular?), or have the philosophers of prior generations just been exceptional? It's just that every time I hear about a famous "modern day" philosopher, they're typically spoken of as they were only a philosophy-oriented Bill Nye. Has the emphasis on STEM and it's separation from philosophy caused it to overshadow it? How well are phil departments in universities typically doing nowadays?
I see this more as commentary on the field rather than any current events in particular. I mean, people talk about Zizek here, that typically isn't considered a violation of the 25 year rule.

Why do you need a degree to think about things and write books?
