What's up with medieval art? Why's it so crappy looking?
Art wasn't a medium of entertainment/outlet of human expression at that time. Everyday life revolved around religion, and artworks were basically only meant to sate the basic need of depictions of the bible and whatnot for the public, especially illiterate serfs & peasantry.
The Italian Renaissance is the de facto next step of the evolution of art. Many artists who focused on proportions, the Fibonacci Sequence, and perspective were surrounded by the rebirth ("Renaissance") of antiquity: the rediscovered works of ancient Greeks, and were influenced by the then-new concepts of geometry.

IT I didn't even lurk for a day and this is my first post.
There were no art schools, just monks going at it, and the result is pretty cool imo, they created unique styles.
I want to become a freemason, build up in ranks my whole life and leave a legacy for my children and their children.
How do i become one?
Can anyone just become one? or do you need a certain privilege?
>>2064894
There are a few requirements, but you mainly have to find two freemasons and get them to vouch for you. And you have to ask to join, they can't ask or recommend it to you.
>>2064894
>or do you need a certain privilege?
lol no.
>>2064915
>find two freemasons and get them to vouch for you
^This.
Find your local lodge, find the date of their normal meeting, and wait in the parking lot. When people come out, calmly and non-creepy like, ask to speak with the Most Worshipful Master. Explain to him that you don't really know any Freemasons and would like to apply.
That should show some initiative in your part.
What if nappy won?
>>2064841
Everybody would speak and write french and know that it's not "haute chateau" but "haut château"...

I'd say he got a cultural victory.

The perfidious Anglo would only be in the history books and we would all wonder how the people of Europe tolerated a disease for only 800 years
>fuck your harem and have your every need taken care of up until the age of 29
>THEN give up all your worldy possessions
it's not exactly asceticism if you've already indulged in every worldly luxury the world has to offer
>>2064822
Dem ears though
>>2064822
There is no end to attachment. You can never end the desire to indulge by indulging.
>>2064933
Of course you can.
If people haven't tried a thing they may spend decades romanticizing the thing instead of moving on from it after they know how it really is.
Discuss.
Is it fair to make an argument that if it wasn't for The Enlightenment and The Renaissance, world and Europe would currenty look like rural Afghanistan and remote parts of South America?
I am not baiting but I legitimately interested in how accurate these two charts are.
Please keep shitposting to the minimum.
>>2064815
>rural Afghanistan and remote parts of South America?
Landlocked lands are landlocked, next.
>>2064815
Germany seems rather low.
Russia too.
Some other civilization would fill the same niche a little later.
Britain would be like Japan and Europe would be like China
how do we make it a reality?
>>2064805
Blacks are stronger, whites are smarter. So what do?
>>2064806
I'm looking for a higher brow discourse on this issue
if I wanted to hear about whites, backs and jews I would have posted on /pol/
By funding more research into genetics research and CRISPR.
But normalfags are already getting buttmad at that too because they can't cope with the fact that people are merely a consequence of whatever genes they win in the cosmic reincarnation lottery and that free will is a lie.
Why should anything be illegal?

Austrian school of economics = people who understood the limitation of economics as a science and came up with a better way to understand it.
>understood the limitation of economics as a science and came up with a better way to understand it
This is like saying YEC's understood the limits of accurately dating rocks and have come up with a better way to understand the formation of the Earth.
Rothtards and Misshits= cultists
>>2064587
It's not the same.
>Austrians argue that logical positivism cannot predict or explain human action, and that empirical data itself is insufficient to describe economics, which in turn implies that empirical data cannot falsify economic theory, and that logical positivism is not the proper method of conducting economic science.
That statement might be true for Subjective ToV, but libertarians are through and through believers in Economics as Hard Science.
Economics isn't a science, some of its most fundamental ideas are assumptions, and no one can make even half-decent predictions. Economics is much more about power, and thus about politics, than any economist likes to admit.
But that isn't what Austrian Schoolers believe. They avoid "charts n' sheet" because, often, data clashes with their political ideals.
But avoiding predictions and data isn't the same as recognizing the limits of economics.

Why was Guderian so smug? On every single photo of him he's smug as fuck.
Because he knew Germany's success was thanks to him and it would do even better if he was given free reign.
It's an awesome feeling being smart and correct about everything.

What is "normal?"
Should people strive to be "normal"?
>>2064180
Striving to be normal is like saying "Everyone should be white bread"
Sure it's ok in most situations but the differences in the bread is what makes it special
No, as a matter of fact being normal is a bad thing because people are normally morons.
>>2064180
Yes people should strive to be normal. We are inherently different and come from a collection of different experiences. We are already individuals, you dont have to try extra or make a show of it.
If people dont stive to be normal, it becomes a competition on who can be the most unique and edgy. Thats how you get annoying ass people who think they are intersting because they walk around dressed like a mental patient or ask edgy questions like "but why is pedophilia illegal when being gay isnt?"
Being part of a society and having individuality promoted instead of unity is the most retarded thing I have ever experienced.
