Only America's and Russia's were accurate. Let's redo them.

"When Bane is called a Big Guy, it symbolizes CIA's inferiority complex, as he believes that Bane will be remembered and loved by millions, while he will be forgotten as a minor character by all. Obviously, this wasn't true."

Rest of the world got ahead of them.
Also, yhy did they disappear while pygmies and ethiopians are still here?
They suffered the same fate as the monopods. God bless their souls (I hope they were able to convert before they died out).
What was good and what was bad about 20th century socialist economies?

Depends which ones we're talking about. For example, there was increase in production and living standards in Anarchist Catalonia, and the USSR suffered little effects from the Great Depression
nothing
People that lived under communism Russia, Romenia etc.) liked the job stability the most, and resented the lack of consumer goods the most.
Also everybody pretty much knew the system was bullshit. "We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us" was a proverb.
How would the world be different if he would've won his Gubernatorial race in '62? Would he still have ran for President? Would he have won? Would California be different now?
Rocky wins in '68 and '72; Nixon runs as a darkhorse in 1980 against the incument Scoop Jackson and wins. Today he is remembered as a top ten president.

Asking for /his/'s opinions on the concepts of retributive and restorative justice. For those who don't know, retributive justice is a system of criminal justice based on the punishment of offenders rather than on rehabilitation, and restorative justice is just the opposite.
My problem with restorative justice is that it treats criminals like victims rather than punishing crime. Proponents of restorative justice however argue that retributive justice is ineffective in deterring crime, though I would argue that that is irrelevant as it is not the point of the criminals justice system.
What do you guys think?

"man is not guilty, he is responsible" -Albert Camus
>>2442846
IT IS A SPURIOUS DICHOTOMY; THERE SHOULD BE DISCERNMENT IN LAW; RETRIBUTIVE JUSTICE, OR RESTORATIVE JUSTICE, SHOULD BE APPLIED APPROPRIATELY IN EACH INDIVIDUAL CASE; THERE ARE SOME PERSONS WHO DESERVE TO BE PUNISHED, AND SOME OTHERS WHO SHOULD BE IMPROVED.
EXAMPLE OF RETRIBUTIVE JUSTICE: DEATH PENALTY FOR MURDERERS.
EXAMPLE OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE: COMPULSORY LABOUR FOR THIEVES.
>>2442846
You can't lock every criminal, minor or major, away for life. That means you're going to be sending these people back into the society where they offended.
For most, the punishment is ann ineffective deterrent and can make them more prone to future crimes.
Repeatedly imprisoning someone is expensive and money would be better spent trying to keep them out of prison.
ALSO, restorative justice is justice geared toward benefiting the victims of crime. You meant Rehabilitative Justice. The Rehab model DOES punish...losingyour freedom is a punishment. It's just not the main goal.
can we get a thread dedicated to the cucked city that is Jerusalem?
Seems like there is a lot of History in this ancient city. So much blood, some much violence, so much jews, so much trade, so much hummus.

Wikipedia is not a proper source to cite your bullshit meme answers.
If anything it is a jumping off point for beginners who are looking for insight on a subject.
STOP LINKING WIKIPEDIA.
>Take a pic of a book, why this is an image board.
>link a documentary, why we have embedded links.
>Pull up primary sources and secondary sources, There are hundreds of thousands of data bases to do this that takes little more time than highlighting, copying, and pasting a link and segment that is probably obscurely false from Wikipedia.
>>2442757
But doesn't Wikipedia have those sources already linked.
No.
>>2442757
Guess someone got blown the fuck out by a simple Wikipedia article.
Just stop being dumb and then you won't be intellectually dominated by people capable of using Google. Is Wikipedia a valid source? That really depends. There are citations on the page generally. Anyone who cares to find out the validity can do so. It's not a big deal.

Do you follow the teachings of Jesus Christ to the letter?
If not, what makes you a Christian?
He died on the cross for your sins.
Are you going to add more suffering to His eternal salvation?
I mean, why do you even believe in God? Because you read it in a book, or because you've seen the realization of the Book in your daily life?
If I'm making you uncomfortable, then good. Reconciling a true belief in the Christian faith with the modern world should make you uncomfortable, especially if you're posting on an imageboard where adding "kys" is a common occurrence.

Where's that? Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's the "humanities" crowd who flood any and all history threads with their creationist, Earth-is-6000-years-old bullshit that I'm targeting.
You know motherfuckers in the Roman Empire fucking died trying to convince others that Jesus was divine?
And all these motherfuckers can do is delete threads and respond with banal, uninspiring, max-two-line posts.
Humanities was an utter and complete mistake.
Let's discuss the history of games, best historical games, etc.
