What are its notable weaknesses and technological flaws/disadvantages? Why has it lasted so long?
>>54869830
HTML 5 was released at 28 October 2014
Whereas Flash was released at 1996, that's why Flash lasted so long because it was a available, popular and widely used web multimedia software platform back then. Youtube used it, as well as many other sites did.
The main weakness is Security, Adobe Flash Player is capable of executing malicious code.

Should the Internet be taken seriously?
Name one thing that the collaborative efforts of the Internet has accomplished that actually matters in real life.

If you say this, then you don't know what the internet is.

Hi /g/ I just "learned" lua. By that I mean got through a tutorial. What is the next step? Also what is your language learning algorithm. Are there some specific programs you always create to get better understanding of language?
>>54869731
>What is the next step?
Think of a very small but useful program. Write it in that language.
I suggest a calculator.

Script to learn.
Don't learn to script.
Now gtfo.

Hello, /g/.
I'm trying to mod a game executable. I just want to change some values around if possible.
I've managed to edit some game text in a hex editor but, except for some plaintext function names and such, everything else seems to be garbage characters.
I disassembled the binary but I have no idea what I'm looking at, and I tried converting the assembly code to C++ with a program called Snowman but that just looked even more ridiculous and unreadable.
How exactly do I go about finding basic variables in the game if I only have assembly code to work with? Any tips on reverse engineering?

what should I do with my rPi model 2 B?
I've been using it for retropie but it's getting old as it's more convenient to emulate shit from my laptop.
I have a 10GB microSD, and shitty bluetooth and wifi dongles.
Obviously I have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard with it.
Also general Raspberry Pi thread
fuck I meant class 10 not 10GB
Raspbian so you can browse with it like you can do with your laptop.

India offers cheap quality labor that remembers to do the needful everyday and cheap prices for their server, and India, as any other superpower in the world has very good internet.
Even DigitalOcean today opened a datacenter in Bangalore.

Why don't you bring shit-posting to a whole new level with your brand new Indian server?

Is Vivaldi just another botnet?
Version 1.2 just released.
I don't know.
I switched to it from Chromium recently because the codecs STILL don't work quite right.
I guess I just let the botnet win.

don't buy quiet computer parts that cost an insane amounts of money.
Instead, buy cheap but from respectable brands and then put your computer in another room!
Don't buy Noctua fans, they are overpriced. Don't buy "quiet edition" power supplies. Just put your computer in another room and make a hole through your wall for the incoming cables!
Not only will you get a more cost effective computer, you will also get a completely silent battlestation, because the computer is not in the same room as you are!
Bumpedy bump bump
don't buy a case/mouse/keyboard/any peripheral with lots of lights if you plan on putting the computer in the same room you sleep.

if you accidentally press enter twice or more quickly then it fills the next raw_input()
any way to make Python "forget" the enters ?

Flush stdin before reading from it again.
First of all, switch to Python 3.
>>54869159
tried sys.stdin.flush()
doesn't seem to do anything

But i had to install gta v
will copying and pasting it back work?
I'd just recommend a fresh install.
If you back up everything in your user folders (and appdata folders) it should be a fairly smooth install, with little fucking about.
Don't know much about GPU's but I have an AMD R9 200 series it looks like pic related with the copper/brass looking tubes on the bottom.
It's having issues with running Dark souls 3 and staying at roughly 40ish I'm not sure if that's the cap for the game itself that FROM put into the game but I assume not. Is it time to upgrade?
Jesus christ
What you just did is say
>I have a car but it only goes 80mph, it kinda looks like this and it has 4 wheels and some doors, it's a volkswagen by the way is something wrong with my car?
what cpu do you have?
that is most likely the issue
>>54868739
there are many 200 series card models, and quite a few with copper heat pipes. that said, even the 290X is getting a little old. either get a GTX 1070, GTX 1080, RX 480 (or two of them), or wait for AMD's new flagship in the coming months
