I have to make a Power Point about cyber crime. I want to make it as lame as possible without getting failed. I don't want to make it cringey though, so no Anonymous or frogsquad stuff. What are some memeable misconceptions about cyber crime that would look scary to normies?
Do your own homework.

PDAs were king before everyone ditched them along with netbooks in 2010 for those smudgy Fisher Price toys that are tablets/smartphones.
What is the modern alternative to the PDA? Something that has a decent word processor and is portable. Something that isn't a tablet with a bluetooth keyboard.
>>54876981
>Modern alternate
It's literally just a smartphone, if your nasty fucking hands smudge the screen, then wash them
>>54877003
This. Smartphones are literally just PDAs that can also function as phones.
>>54877003
But smartphones don't have any decent office apps, they are glorified stick it notes that I have type into like a fucking chimp or use a bluetooth keyboard.
ITT: Shit you would never in your life spend your money on but if somebody gave it to you or you won it in a contest you'd be happy to have.
I've considered buying them a few times but my inner Jew just won't let me spend the money. The practicality to cost ratio is awful but I'll be damned if they don't sound good from what I've heard on my friend's Rokit6's.
The catalog is full of consumerist cancer and you still had to go and make a new thread.
Much, much, better monitors exist than the Rokits.
Honestly, they're the Beats by Dre of Studio monitors. Muddy as fuck.
>>54876939
I'd personally go for some Yamaha HS8's or HS5's over the Rokits.

I ended up making an option C and I just bought a wireless charger because is was much cheaper and less of a hassle than sending it in and risking fucking $700 for a phone
Just installed Xubuntu on my laptop. What now?

I knew there would be an upcoming change to the order of photos on a user's feed, but they have also completely disabled the ability for third party sites to provide the original chronological feed.
Now when you go to any of the previous places you could view Instagram online like Iconosquare or webstagram they are trying to sell you some dumb analytical service.
This has got to be a huge mistake. Even facebook gave users the choice to go back to a chronological layout for their feed. Right now the service is near unusable because you can't even look at a grid view. You have to scroll past each photo one at a time.

Correct. I am intelligent enough to not have to fuck my own hand.
It is possible to program a PIC using a OTG device fron the phone.
Also general electronic thread
An AVR yes, a PIC, idk...
PIC32 has USB OTG functionality, I never used it though.
>>54877938
I'm being stupid, I didn't quite read your question. If your phone can be a USB host, you can use it as a software programmer, yes.
For example, for PIC32, I use pic32prog(*). I don't know if you can compile it for Android though...

So for the past week I have been on 'holiday' in the middle of fucking nowhere in Scotland. Usually I'm in Hartlepool, UK which is where I live. A town of 90,000 people or so, the town is graced with virgin media super fast broadband cabling in every street, and 100% 4G LTE coverage across the town (Every mast is 4G), so I kind of take Internet connectivity for granted. But this holiday has got me thinking. Why haven't we, especially for rural communities, figured out widespread satellite 4G? It makes perfect sense. I am aware that satellite broadband already exists, but it is costly to install. If legislation was passed to allow carriers to broadcast stronger data packet signals, you could have a system where base stations beam data up to satellites, then the satellites provide coverage for a wide area. Even if the technology didn't exist for a signal strong enough to go directly to smartphones, you could have a system where the satellite provides for a wide area, then land based terrestrial stations pick up the signal and broadcast it out conventionally. These base stations could be small and wouldn't have to be connected to any form of infrastructure for data or for electricity through the use of solar/wind power for electricity. This system could also he used to cheaply provide static Internet connectivity to homes and small businesses. This would be especially useful in rural areas. With new legislation being looked at in the UK to allow carriers to erect masts under 25 metres in height without planning permission, this would allow rapid expansion of the network. I would create some diagrams but I'm on my phone. What does /g/ think?
