How do I stop Firefox from gradually trashing most of my RAM after a few hours of use? Having to restart it daily is getting annoying. Having limited amounts of tabs and bartab aren't being helpful
>>54879244
Stop spreading your lies.
>>54879255
Stop thinking I'm some chrome shill. I realize there's probably something fucked up in my config and I'd like to rule out some of the more obvious causes
Uninstall chrome and your problems should go away.
If not, install Gentoo.
Does anybody here have any tips for learning Prolog?
When I start learning a language, the first thing I do is work through the first few Project Euler problems. Thing is, it's become pretty obvious that Prolog isn't a very good language for cute math problems. Can any of you /g/entlemen suggest some small projects where Prolog might really shine, or tell me some things that Prolog is really good for?
>>54879166
Sudoku solver?
>>54879405
Beautiful.
>>54879166
I worked with prolog back in college.
Back in the 1980s.
Prolog is long gone. You need to keep up with the times.
who designed this os? two choices that open the same fucking window!!!
>need to enter control panel to change some settings
>navigate to it
>get a simplified menu for illiterates
>have to click through 300 pages to get through the one I want
what were they thinking? what the fuck were they smoking?
>>54879123
They should rename it to Windows xD
>>54879123
Nevermind the fact that there's two completely separate control panels and the new one just opens shit in the old one because they were to lazy to upgrade
Still a pretty nice OS though
>one of first rpms
>comes with great support for both kde/gnome/xfce
>great stability(Leap 42.1)
>bleeding edge(Tumbleweed)
>YaST
Why haven't you tried it yet?
How is Tumbleweed compared to Arch/Antergos?
>>54879019
I have tried it once! rally liked it. KDE buggy tho...
>>54879032
In Arch you have to compile your shit and even fuck up your system. Forget that with Tumbleweed
>falling fot the arch meme
Also, what's the most efficient way to block adds on Android. Adblock plus, adaway, something else?
Unrelated question: if you wanted to try out cyanogenmod, when using root, do you need to install SuperSU? I heard there's some built in function that does the same thing.
adaway
>>54879070
>adaway
Why this over adblock?
>>54879015
For adblocking, i use xposed framework with minminguard and adaway as it's built in to my current rom.
For the root on a CM rom, you have to go to developers settings & enable it. You can replace it with supersu, as some apps (i can't remember any right of the bat) may complain about it not being supersu.
>Pay $700

Or spend $400, get an equivalent setup with AMD's long lasting architecture. Right now it competes with the 1070, two years from now it will be competing with the 1270.
You are an idiot if you do not go AMD this generation.
>>54878885
Holy fucking shit can we stop having graphics card threads already?

AMD pajeets paid to shill m8.

They're just zealous fanboys.
What are the chances of buying a second hand hdd on say ebay or gumtree and finding stuff on it?
>>54878635
decent I guess. Finding anything remotely interesting will be tough, and finding anything that actually worth it's money is probably impossible.

Why the everloving FUCK is Flash so hard to get working on Linux?
I've tried the normal Flash Player, HTML5 conversion plugins, and some stupid shit called PepperFlash and NONE OF IT WORKS
WHY IS FLASH SO SHITTY?
WHY IS LINUX SO CONVOLUTED?
FUUUUUUUCCCKKKKK
inb4 lel, why r u still using flash anyways?
There are still quite a few fucktarded websites that are still using Flash that I need access to.
How can I get Flash to work with Debian 8? (preferably without so much hand tweaking that I might as well just write the code from scratch)
>>54878442
write it from scratch desu senpai
>>54878454
That seems to be the answer for most Linux programs...
Now I am a #MacShack
>Install Ubuntu
>Press "Install third-party software"
>You now have flash
Hey guys, I'm really excited to be writing on 4chan. It's such an honor. I just want a processor that will play Time Crisis 3 for hours while I put lemons in my rectum. It's fun to do while watching Time Crisis gameplay and Resident Evil II. Should I install Windows 10 with that processor? Thanks boys :*

So, I'm thinking of installing a patched kernel. -ck and -zen seem promising. Which one is better? -ck seems more popular.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Linux-ck
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel/Overview#zen-sources
I'm curious about this too
>>54878199
As am I. -ck seems to have made my penis erect after merely scanning that wiki page.
Niggers.
Sup, /g/.
How to view private Instagram profiles without having an account ? Google spits me up survey shit. Anyone knows how to do it ?
Thanks in advance.
>>54877813
GTFO faggot
No.
Can't you make a fake profile with a hot chick/dude pic and ask to follow said person? 9/10 times they'll accept the request.
>>54877915
Don't wanna be a creep :(
Plus how will I create "real" profile ? I have to download someone's pics of Facebook, rite ?
why does /g/ hate windows 10?

Want to build a new desktop computer for $1k or less for gaming, watching videos and internet (nothing more advanced than StarCraft II, Diablo III or Steam games). There are several problems, however:
- I want a quiet, yet adequately cooled system, including a graphics card that gets the job done but doesn't sound like a jet engine - passively cooled get way too hot, unfortunately. I don't want to deal with water cooling.
- I want a CRT monitor but I'm not sure where to get one except to look for a used one. I would really like a newer model that's as light as possible though.
- I want a decent enough processor that it can deal with nearly 200 open tabs in a browser (I tend to do a lot of research), while also having Word and maybe a PDF file or VLC and/or other programs open and not chugging.
Anyone?
I got that very same pc in your pic.
Do your own research. That's part of the fun of building your own pc. Besides no one will know exactly what you want except you. /g/ will be a lot more help if you come back with a complete build on pcpartpicker and ask for input then.
