Where were you when the biggest innovation was made?
KFC is fucking dogshit now. I'm not surprised they're literally begging for your money with gimmicky shit like this.
I used to eat at their restaurant almost everyday 2005-2010. But now I feel sick to my stomach even thinking about KFC. Something went wrong, very wrong.

Need some help /g/ I have a shitty 1080p lg monitor and want to upgrade to a 1440p monitor for gaming and programming. I also plan on having a 1440 x 900 vertical monitor for the side.
I'm currently looking at these:
Asus VX24AH 24" IPS - €260
AOC Q2577PWQ 25" IPS - €290
Dell U2515H ADZG 25" IPS - €330
Which of these should I pick? I live in Ireland and don't know if these are good prices or not either or what else I should go for? I hear good things about the dell but is it worth the extra money?

144hz smoothness is better than 1440p meme
>>55214921
Do you really think so? I don't think 1440p is a meme, 1080p UST doesn't seem high red enough, the pixels of diagonal lines forming that stair pattern is just far too visible for me at 1080p
>>55215000
Wait..you see stars when you look at your monitor?
>dongle life
LOL
fuck you apple
what are you connecting and why?
are you charging your iphone, or just syncing?
why are you using a macbook, which has a tiny battery, to top off your smartphone? why not use a battery pack or something more appropriate?
why am i troubleshooting this for you?
why are you so helpless?
It's your fault for buying a 1 port mac and not thinking of the consequences. I bet you next time they will innovate normal usb ports into the thing.

>think different
>Google Play Music, Apple Music, Groove Music
>noticeable buffering, usually 0.5-1.5 seconds before playing streamed tracks
>Spotify
>plays tracks INSTANTLY with seemingly zero buffering latency, as if they were being played from your local drive
How does Spotify do it? What Star Trek-tier tech do they use?
>>55214783
Can you download albums from spurtify to listen to offline?
>>55214783
its pretty easy to stream music buddy, it doesnt take long to receive enough bytes in a stream to start playing it. the other sites just like to prefuffer a bit before it plays
>>55214805
Yes, but you have to export them as playlists first.

You really should disassemble your laptop and clean it, you know? It's not good for it.
But I like dust sheep!
I just stick a pump needle on the intake and pump all that shit out

I agree, disasembly is not good for a laptop. Everytime I do it I risk breaking something.

Or are there better 13-inch Chromebooks?
Acer is the only brand you should be buying chromebooks from.

>2.1ghz quad core tegra 1
>13.3" full HD screen (1920x1080)
>4gb DDR3 ram
>dedicated kepler GPU
>32gb SSD

includes "comfyview screen technology"
i have no idea what it is but it sounds comfy
acer also makes the CB3 and C720, both of which are /g/ approved and the C720 is even FOSS
Chromebook user here: don't get one. Yeah they do basic stuff like web browsing but that's it. The OS is a gimped version of android and the specs are fucking awful.
I'm now struggling to sell the hp chromebook I bought on ebay. I'm really disappointed, this thing was more hype than function.
>>55214952
>gimped version of android
>can only do web browsing
someone doesnt actually own a chromebook
ChromeOS is its own form of linux distro, its more linux than android is, significantly at that, it use to be based on gentoo and parts of chromeOS today are still built on top of little bits of gentoo
its light as fuck, if you disable the desktop enviornment and browser the OS runs on about 60mb of ram, with the DE its still only about 250mb
its easy as shit to install linux on them, many have m.2 ports to install bigger SSD's in, some even have socketed i series processors and can be upgraded heavily
developer mode is a matter of pressing a few buttons and a clean wipe over about 3 minutes, leaving you with root access and the ability to do all sorts of neat shit
then again, some people just want shitposting machines, and chromebooks are good for that
OP, if you dont intend to do anything more than browse the web and watch videos, get the CB3, 170$ new, 2gb ram, n2840 celeron, etc
Need help deciding on what desktop to buy my budget is $500 and I only do some light to moderate gaming.

Why is /g/ so autistic against VLC?
It's not. It's VLCfags who keep making threads defending their shitty player.
>>55214524
The life of the average /g/entooman is filled to the brim with pain, misery, and loneliness, so, they fill the void with inane discussions about inconsequential features in software or hardware.

I am running a virtual machine with Windows 7 (64 bit). I am completely capable of running every other game on the battle.net client except for Overwatch.
After a google search, I found that the issue comes down to requiring DirectX 10.1 or higher", however, I have DirectX11 running.
I am using 2GB of VRAM, so it shouldn't be a problem at all.
My actual specs:
OS: Fedora 23
Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.5.6-200.fc23.x86_64
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 CPU @ 3.6GHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 950
RAM: 23996MiB
Would anyone be able to help me out? The only reason I am actually duel-booting right now is so I can play Overwatch, which is why I am trying to run it in a virtual machine... because fuck Windows.
Grow the fuck up already
install gentoo
Just install Windows you dumb shit
what is /g/ waiting for or just get?

babby learning his first python here
This program executes and spits out the text of the file just fine.
But where does the "read()" come from here? I understand that "open" is a built-in python function, but I can't find anything about "read()" anywhere in the documentation
lmao
Open returns a file stream object. Read() is a method of that object
>>55214461
read() is a method defined for file objects, which open() yields.
Anyone has a rooted S5 with custom ROM? Whats are your favorite ROMs in general and which one are you using and tell us why. Different users answer too.
>>55214421
Other info too
Using CM over a year. Other ROMs never interested me. CM seems the best option for me.
>>55214603
been using it for about 3 months, I kinda miss the Samsung theme but no way i'm going back there. It just seems to me that CM doesn't have lots of features to mess with. and battery is getting average. I had a rom for a week I dont remember the name and the battery there just wouldnt go downn
I'm getting a usb-c phone like a Nexus 6p. How the hell do I even plug my headphones into this crap ? Can I charge a lot of other shit at once or something? What is the point of this new tech?
Nexus 6P has a 3.5mm jack.
