>>55211384

Use a fucking keyboard with spellcheck. Dear god
What are your thoughts on Lua? I find it really fun to program in, and amazingly simple to organize things. I just wish the libraries and bindings were better maintained.
>>55210969
All of my Lua experience is configuring awesome wm, at least for that is not bad.
It is dead simple to embed in C, which is nice
There's a lot I dislike about the language, but those may just be quirks I'll get used to
I love it. I mean, I haven't made that much with it because I've been working with Python lately but it's good shit.
>using brand new phone without a screen protector for two weeks now
Who else here lives their lives on the edge?

If the transparancies melted, how could the jew know it was anime pornography?
>>55210580
They probably use a printing server which stores who printed what
>>55210580
Most printers in corporate environments have hard drives on which everything anyone prints gets stored
Alright lads, Let's talk college since I graduated high school last month.
What are the pros and cons of either pursuing a Computer Science Degree or pursuing an Information Technology Degree?
I did shitty in math back in high school so I'm leaning towards Information Technology. Thoughts?
College sucks
/thread
>>55210520
Information Technology is basically the political science equivalent of computer related fields.
>>55210520
>lads
>I did shitty
You need to brush up on your language skills first.
Is Scala a language really worth learning or is it just a meme?
It seems like it's becoming big and they have plans to build compilers to move it away from the JVM and to native binaries.
It's going to be interesting.
>>55210652
what does that mean in codecademy programmer terms
>>55210687
it means stick to php and wordpress, now suck my cock millennial trash.
What the everloving fucknuggets is wrong with Windows Phone?
I made the mistake of trusting someone else in the care of my LG G3 and now half the screen is unusable, so I had to take a Lumia 640 as a loaner while insurance brings in a new phone- and oh my fucking GOD, this OS is a shithole.
Spotify's app is literally a direct port of the Android version, sans a few features.
Even after SEVERAL YEARS, Google has STILL neglected to make a proper YouTube app for this platform, meaning that the only "official" app simply links to the website.
The IRC apps can't run in the background like AndChat could, and IRC7 will disconnect if you LOOK at it wrong.
Visual Studio has literal TEMPLATES for this shit. Why is nobody using them, and why the fuck are the people who have so incompetent?!
>>55210467
Aren't you the same fucking faggot who shilled the Lumia and how you just bought one? Fuck off faggot, you deserve this.
People who write like THIS are fucking RETARDED
Because Microsoft keeps changing their fucking minds on how WP apps should be made. UWP was just the latest in a string of "Actually, you should have apps run like THIS" that they've been doing with the platform for the past few years, since they've had no idea what exactly WP is supposed to be.
But since UWP apps are supposed to be delivered through the MS store, devs first want to see that people are actually using the Windows store. The problem there is that nobody is using it because all the applications are terrible.
You know what Isn't in the Windows Store? 7zip, Adobe Reader, Chrome, Firefox, fucking Office isn't in there. Basically anything that's packaged as an MSI or EXE isn't listed in there, and those are the only things people are looking to put on their desktops. Even the Apple store allows full applications to exist on their App Store because it's easier to grab them there and have them be remembered so when I rebuild my machine, all my applications are just a click away from being reinstalled and updated, all without having to set my browser out to the internet. Microsoft isn't doing this, so a key advantage of having an app store isn't being utilized.
Is chromebook still just a meme? Are there any good ARM based laptops these days?
>>55210395
Absolutely not.
>>55210395
there are intel based chromebooks that are pretty good. most even have an m.2 slot to put a big ssd in.
dont ever go for the arm ones.
>laptop
>arm based
they should be lap based.
What anti-virus and anti-malware programs do you guys strongly suggest NOT to use, and why so? Picture unrelated.
>>55210391
All of them. Nothing can make Windows safe, just relax and get used to it.
install gentoo
A script blocker extension for your browser, a fire wall and if need be, free tools on the internet.
Have you used a NoSQL database yet /g/?

For playing any game /software app , is this $600 USD build worth it?
http://pcpartpicker.com/list/VMdjXH
Also Mid-end budget build thread
yeah, it's worth it, i rate your build epic/10
now go back to /v/ where you belong
you need to wait until june 29th for new AMD card
then you really want to skimp on ram, remove dvd rom, add like $20 and get low i5 haswell cpu
>>55209996
>epic/10
>now go back to /v/
Ugh god "epic" .. are you trying to make me cringe, if you don't like the bored just ignore it and leave
I have had this daffy duck mousepad for over 15 years and have loved it and I love the softness and fabric of it. It is neoprene, polyester. But its starting to really stink, even if I wash it it really just stinks. Do they still make neoprene, polyester mousepads? What mousepad does /g/ use?
Pic related
I take my cock out and slap it out on the desk, hammer it flat, and use the mashed flesh for the pad. Honestly it feels so good having chunks roll under my g502 gamer mouse its almost as good as a textured razer mousepad. Feel that gristle roll around. It is truly other worldly!
>>55209968
Put it in the microwave. It will sterilize it and it no longer smells. Works with sponges too.
Hey all
So I'm starting as a CS major in the fall at my school, and I was wondering if there were sources that I could use this summer to get a leg up on the mathematics required for these courses.
Math is not my strongest area, but I do have the discipline to keep at it until I understand the minutia of the topics.
Also, I'm debating between the pure CS major, vs a pure Comp. Engineering major. My school won't let me do both at the same time, and the math courses required for each have some overlap, but they vary a little from major to major. If there is a source for both of these that anyone can pull up, that'd be amazing.
On another note - which does /g/ prefer, computer science, or computer engineering?
Paul's math notes
You can most likely put off the CS vs CSE decision until next year
It's harder than you think
>>55209934
I'm still stuck on whether to Major in CS or CE as well.
like >>55210147
said, you can pretty much put it off. Most standard first year classes are similar.
>>55209934
>My school won't let me do both at the same time
Well no shit, you would fail all your classes.
