Someone want to explain this shit?
>>57022117
Sheeeeeiiiiit I remember that solution for me when playing battlefront.
Too bad gamespy died and now you have to rely on third party software to play a Multi-player game.
I used to remember the answer, OP, but that was four or five years ago. So I'm just shitting your thread with nostalgia.
>>57022137
Oh shit I didn't know gamespy wasn't around I thought I was just putting off making an account, how do you do it?
>>57022175
Sorry friend I'm not quite sure what program I used but yes, gamespy is dead.
I didn't play much at all after gamespy died so my memory is shit.
Whenever I "start with debugging" in Windows Visual Studio my program runs and then immediately i get the "program.exe has stopped working" error.
How do I fix this?
>>57022077
Did you make sure to put a stop?

What graphics card would be optimal for 1440p? Is the GTX 1070 enough or must I get a 1080?
>>57021876
I can run GTA V on mostly high settings except for anti aliasing at 4k with a gtx 970. You should be fine.
1070 is fine, besides it's not like the 1080 is miles better, if one wasn't enough for 1440p, it's not like the other would magically be so much better that it WOULD be good enough.
They're only about 15% different. (but about 40% difference in cost)

I'm in the market for a new mouse, and I've just used this chink mouse that isn't terrible, but the build quality sure is.
So what mouse do you all recommend and use? I don't really want any "gaymur" gear shit.

Mostly a Gigabyte M6900, but I sometimes switch to an MX Performance if I feel like it. I got both for $5 while thrifting.

What's a good lightweight Linux distro for a headless Raspberry Pi?
I was hoping to use it for programming, and I have an intermediate amount of experience with Linux.
Second for Arch and Debian are both terrific Linux distributions.
>>57021768
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.
Anyone else just hate all DEs? They literally all plain fucking suck.
>>57021678
KDE is the closest I get.
If you think they suck now, wait until you try them on a HiDPI display. Pretty much every DE is unusable out of the box on a 14" 2560x1440 display.

Oh wait, wrong faggot.
Legit question.
Do audio Y-Splitters like pic related degrade audio quality?
If your an audiophile, yes they make shit unlistenable
In the real world it doesn't matter
>>57021625
to be fair it depends what headphones you're using, what the source is, and the quality of the splitter.
Assuming you're using audiophile quality equipment you probably would notice a difference with and without that $0.50 splitter from china. But for some $15 ear buds or similar, you'll be hard pressed to notice since those headphones are not overly clean sounding to begin with.
No.
>>57021625
>If your an audiophile, yes they make shit unlistenable
That's not audiophile, that's just letting expectations run wild.

That's total load of bullshit.

Ok, question for any of you with experience in this matter. I'm currently piecing together plans for a custom liquid cooling setup. Problem is, I'm not well versed in brand quality when it comes to cooling components. Anyone have any recommendations for parts, brands to look/watch out for, and general tips one would find useful?
Thanks in advance. I'm shopping from the US fyi.
