So why should i use Firefox Nightly?
>>59025100
Some guy last night said to use Firefox developer edition so far I'm loving it.
>>59025100
I don't know. That's up to you, anon. Startpage around and see the differences between versions or other browsers and make your own choice.
>>59025100
You shouldn't. Updates way too often (of course, they're nightlies).
Just get Aurora, they call it "Developer Edition" now, it's the release channel in between beta and nightlies so you get new features but they aren't that unstable.
So I went to boot up my PC the other day and I have no display, with solid red VGA_LED light on my motherboard. I can type in my password and hear the windows login sound, so idk what exactly is wrong. I swapped monitors to see if anything changed but no dice.
Running an i5-2500k and an AMD 6950 if that matter
Should add, is it the GPU or motherboard? I needed to replace the GPU soon anyway, so if it is the GPU then it works out just fine

Any chance they are going to kill eachother?

lmao
why does the board themes break if you zoom in too much or make the browser too narrow?
>>59024541
meaning if you change it to tomorrrow (like it should be by default)
it reverts to the boards default colr
Because you're a fucking retard. Kill yourself.
Because this site is fucking shit made by retards, for retards.
Does /g/ know how to do right hand rule for solving maze arrays? It's in java
inb4 do your own assignments
pic related is what I currently have but it is not working, can anyone identify the problem.
What do you have to do? Also try Stupid Questions Thread
post code not pics, what is the question?
Yo /g/ I am in possession of a mid 2011 macbook air, 200gb flash hd, 4gb ram, 11 inch... and i can return it for around $400 buckaroos, or possibly make it into a media server for my room. What does /g/ suggest?
I wouldn't mind swapping it for something slim, really digging the micro-laptop 11 inch form but perhaps would like something more durable? idk how that would work with a slim form factor, don't think there's a thinkpad that's similar specs as far as form factor goes, but what does /g/ suggest?
inb4 not tech support help me pick the best option planning to be on it a lot and hopefully travel, perhaps i'll just keep this apple.......
return, that seems like a very good deal
>>59024475
agree
>>59024532
>>59024475
i am leaning towards returning it but am unsure of any comparable laptops, i'd like some modern specs for a similar price but don't know what would offer this form factor that i have fallen in love with like literally
>CPUs plateaued after SandyBridge!
Is this a meme or is there any truth behind it?
it's when diminishing returns really started yeah, but "progress" in general really started slowing around the mid 2000s on the hardware level and practical gains from each new generation is even lower because it turns out that the same old algorithms we perfected decades ago are agnostic to the passage of time and don't get any hungrier for system resources as they get older... really depolarizes the synapses
>>59024413
Pretty much, yeah. If you're not playing gaymes you will hardly tell the difference between a CPU made in 2010 and one made in 2017. You can even go as far back as 2007 if you use top of the line CPUs from that time.
>>59024413
There is maybe a ~30-35% improvement in performance between a Nehalem and a Kaby Lake CPU with the same clock rate. While performance has stagnated, Moore's Law hasn't stopped since technically they're fitting more transistors per unit of space (by making the die smaller) which gives very good improvements in power consumption.
But yes, the days of Moore's law being an indicator of performance growth is over. Silicon will reach its physical limits in the next 5 years and there's nothing concrete planned after that. It's just gonna be moar cores.
>buy used thinkpad (x230)
>some keys stop working
>battery life is horrific
>useless red dot is on the keyboard
Fucking hell, you guys memes me so fucking hard. There is no other board this savage.

Nothing wrong with thinkpad

>useless red dot
it's called a trackpoint and only the most advanced human beings use it.
you don't DESERVE to own a thinkpad.
So I have this piece of shit phone, an LG Escape 2. I hate this phone with a burning passion.
Think of everything a smart phone should do even on the most basic level and this phone does not do it.
To make matters worse I decided to lend this phone to a friend in financial trouble while I got a chinkphone so I proceeded to wipe the thing only to find it not only wiped all the data, but also the ability to FUCKING TYPE.
The keyboard just would not show up, I even bought a cord to connect a physical keyboard to it and it still didn't work.
No work-around worked to get through the LG sign-on so I simply gave up, but today I had an epiphany, is there a way to maybe format this phone and re-install a version of android without all of the LG bloat on it? Like installing Lubuntu on an old netbook?
I've tried googling all sorts of stuff but all I'm finding is tutorials on how to perform a factory reset and that's what got me into this situation in the first place.
So is this sort of thing possible? Or is it a fool's errand? I would like to know what you think.
Yes.
>>59024342
I would really appreciate a tutorial of some kind, I sure as shit can't find any.
>>59024329

is openvpn 2.4 only 64bit?
why dont i see a 64bit version?
>>59024186
Nice fearmongering.
Does anyone have or currently use a Synology NAS? I've done research but looking for real experiences.
Even QNAP is hella expensive but the primary purpose is set and forget it for non technical people to share storage.
there's xpenology (rogue firmware mod to run xenology linux on a pc). get compatible hardware, enjoy your 40% cheaper storage with interface for normies.
>>59024217
That's actually an interesting point. I know they are behind on versions but anyone have some insight into running this?
>>59024316
Well, its a shady botnet sort of thingy, but yea, got it running for family over a year ago, DSM 5. The thing has yet to bug out. UI glitches are the same as synologys, frequent, but normies are ok with it. DSM 6 is out now, but didn't have anything with that yet.
Security updates are behind a lot. If you must expose the thing to the internet, at least put it on non-standard port, better yet, setup a separate nginx proxy on it with independent .htaccess and point that on the internal http server gizmo, iptable out the non-proxy out from the outside. The thing is a swiss cheese mess, you definitely don't want to rely on their auth if it's in the wide open.
Long story short, I copied my friends entire Keepsafe folder to my PC, I want his gfs nudes.
Wat do
Kill yourself.
