As a "tech" person, I am appalled at the idea of paying $500 for this thing. It could be done a lot cheaper with, say, an ipad and a mechanical kb. In addition, the files could be encrypted and secure. On the other hand, as a writer, I find this beast to be sexy as fuck.

I don't think so. otoh, e-ink is pretty readable at any angle. And it has a front light so you can use it in low light or the dark.

WES7 is literally master race.
It's modular, so you can strip and functionality you don't need.
It's lightweight, literally takes ~1,5GB of storage space after installation and upgrade
It's as functional as Windows 7 Ultimate
It has lower requirements than Win7
