What is the crappiest PC that you owned /g/? Was it your first PC?
For me it was an older E machines. Somewhat similar to pic. Had an 800Mhz processor and I think 512mb of ram. 80gb HDD? Played Roller coaster tycoon pretty well. That's about it.
God this thing was infuriating...
Everything was wrong with it. The display only worked if you tilted it in the right position (and even then the right 1/4 the screen had glitchy vertical lines), the battery didn't hold a charge at all, and even with a fresh install of XP, as soon as the fans turned on the fucker ground to a halt.

Amiga 600 was my first. Can't called it crappy. Was pretty epic tbqh.
>>59391182
Holy shit. I forgot about these. My friends mom had one. That thing was a pile of shit to say the least.
Is this the best $200 and under tablet currently available?
I have two
Well took one completely apart and destroyed the soc out of curiosity
But it's great bang for buck, feels a bit android tier cheap in hand as you'd expect

hey look a protoswitch
>>59390509
Oh and it's great for emulators, battery life is not the greatest, it can get hot under load
Those speaker grills are misleading, the speakers are tiny as fuck

This graph is useless without a legend

That's what AMD does.
Makes a powerful product on paper that has terrible efficiency in real world applications.
The furyX is a prime example of that
Fuck ton of horsepower, but 20% of the shaders were unused and sat idle most of the time.
Then combined with driver overhead, it was slower than it's competitors.
Pic unrelated
>>59389658
it's almost as if software that isn't optimized runs less efficiently on architectures it wasn't designed to run on

What went wrong?
>>59389419
Nothing? DisplayPort is actually quite popular.
It's basically a requirement if you're going to use a high-end monitor.
>>59389424
this, unless your talking about TV's
>>59389419
Monitors often stop being detected when they are turned off, which is terrible for multi monitor setups.
Why don't they replace the keyboard on a laptop with a touch surface or even a touch screen?
It would be revolutionary. Imagine if you were typing and you could flick the previous word away with a gesture. You could switch from typing to cursor control just by moving your finger like a trackpad instead of typing. It would be epic.
Am I the only one?
You're a fucking idiot.
that's fucking retarded
>>59389350
Yes lets get rid of the one thing that makes a laptop a laptop and make it even more annoying to type on
What are the best desktop environments and why?

Aqua .. why .. because macOS

KDE is shit but everything else on linux is even worse, at least it's usable
I really wish my desktop was hackintosh compatible

So should I still use vlc player even though cia fagots can see what I watch or should I choose another. I'm on linux mint so if any suggestions that are compatible with linux would be a plus

/g/ extremists at their finnest faggotry: I don't like what I don't use even if I have no arguments about it
Hey /g/ what is the best gaymen laptop out on the market now? I travel a lot for work and miss playing games sometimes. Plus sometimes I just find myself with nothing to do in my hotel room
I really like the new Alienware style: they're way classier now and less manchildrened. They even look better than macbooks now.
And of course Alienware probably makes the best laptops, Pristine airflow, top notch build quality, top notch upgradability, day+1 at home intervention if you have a problem, etc. etc.
>>59388462
Oh and forgot proprietary fucking external GPU device.
>>59388319
I recently started using Ubuntu, and I kinda liked the OS. But I don't see a reason to stop using Windows. Most things I can do in Ubuntu, I can do in Windows (some things better in Windows). So, I would like to know a reason to use Ubuntu as my main OS.
PS.: I don't really care about privacy and stuff.

>doesnt have the atrocity called registry
thats all you need
>>59388278
use macOS
>>59388310
You know, as a Windows user for the entirety of my life, I've really never found any issues with the registry. I haven't really messed with it other than to change the Windows 7 logon screen background, or in the Windows 8 beta to enable to start menu and disable that metro crap. What purpose would you have to be messing within the registry? Why do you consider it atrocious?
Which programming language will be the most popular in 10 years?

so when is OLED finally going to make a breakthrough and be released as a monitor.
oled displays don't last long, after a year of use the colors will be fucked and it will not be as bright, also burn in
flawed technology
>>59387695
Says who?
>>59387719
anyone with an oled phone or tablet
Why aren't you using RedoxOS instead of Linux or Windows?
RedoxOS is literally master race.
It's modular, so you can strip and functionality you don't need.
It's lightweight, literally takes ~1,5GB of storage space after installation and upgrade
It's as functional as FreeBSD
It has lower requirements than Win7
Come on anon, explain yourself
literally no drivers, apps or support whatsoever
>>59387366
>It's modular, so you can strip and functionality you don't need.
Let me know when you can add functionality that you do need
>It's as functional as FreeBSD
This can't not be a joke
What are you working on, /g/?

C is a disservice to intelligent programmers. It has almost 0 features that a modern and intelligent programmer uses to be productive. Since C is such a timesink, it's popularity is falling more than any other languages in the market.
C is dying and it should die ASAP
