Who /laptop/ here?
In light of the Vault 7 leaks I think Rykek is good for opsecfags like me.
>AMD ryzen plans on releasing libreboot and coreboot BIOS support
I no longer have single grain of trust on intel chips due to half decade-old core i-series ME/Odin backdoors plus the EFI crap.
Ryzen laptops should be available around Q3-Q4 2017.
>possible to be shipped with AMD Vega
>tfw feel good to hax again in a multicore libreboot GNU laptop that doesn't suck
>time to replace my 45nm lapcrap
>>59560496
Yeah they'll be 4 core + Vega APUs, some leak had a SKU with 704 shader (11 CU). Thats a weird number, so I'd bet the top SKU is 768 shader (12 CU).
Make sure you get fast RAM, APUs love fast RAM.
>>59561985
Zen-based anything loves fast ram in general because data fabric.

Guys, few days back some anon posted an programming exercise that was like "if a snail goes up in a wall, and every new day goes up 0.9 times the last trip, plus every night goes down 20 cms, create a script that tells how much climb in N days" or something like that.
What was the answer? and do you guys have more exercises of that type??
>>59560378
In which coding language do you want the exercises?
>>59560378
How much does it go up the first day?

Would you buy a motherboard from Apple that let you build a Mac with your own parts?
No. It'd cost more than an entire set by itself. And it wouldn't guarantee compatibility. There'd be no point.
>>59560190
Well the only point of buying hardware from Apple is to run Mac OS on it. And I have zero desire to run Mac OS.
No. I did the whole Hackintosh thing and I got bored of it. Macs are only worth it if you have a very specific need to run Mac OS.

What's the best camcorder for $300? $600? $900? I'm about to drop a reasonable amount of money on something to shoot a variety of projects. Triple CCD or equivalent would be nice, 4K would also be nice but not needed (1080p or maybe even 720p with a really good lense will do fine).

Were Nvidia tards ever been BTFO'ed this hard?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOaHpZjQ73M
Nvidia really made the worst decision in its existence, by supporting Direct3d over OpenGL
With the release of Vulkan, not only did my r9 390 shit on 970, but also on 980, and if it keeps going, soon the 1070.
>>59559869
I'm sure Nvidia will improve drivers so they better perform with Vulkan like they improved them for DX12 recently.
They won't get the same gains that AMD got, just like with DX12, but it'll still be acceptable. That's mostly down to just how inefficient AMD drivers were for DX11 and newer on the overhead level.
>>59559869
Linus BTFO'd Nvidia years ago.

I remember people were speculating motherboards were simply not ready for Ryzen, and they needed bios updates to fix performance. It's been over a month since the release. Has this theory been confirmed yet? Are there any before and after comparisons?
>>59559784
only anus boards have grave problems with ryzen, other boards had way less problems at launch, and most of those were fixed already, while anus is still trying to fix high frequency ram crashes
tl:dr: don't buy anus
Ryzen was launched in March 2, currently it's 24
22 days have passed since launch, which is about three weeks and less than a month

watching this now.
Sup /g/, I need some help with a very basic powershell script.
I need to trim a string to make something more "pretty" for a coworker.
Right now my script is...$Server = Read-Host -Prompt 'Enter IP'
$Results = Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Desktop -ComputerName $Server | select-string -pattern "Name"
$Results
pause
and the output of this looks like...\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="NT AUTHORITY\\SYSTEM"
\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="NT AUTHORITY\\LOCAL SERVICE"
\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="NT AUTHORITY\\NETWORK SERVICE"
\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="DOMAINNAME\\DomainUser1"
\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="DOMAINNAME\\DomainUser2"
\\HOSTNAME\root\cimv2:Win32_Desktop.Name="DOMAINNAME\\DomainUser3"
I'd like the output to only be the part between the quotes, any suggestions?
my guess is your'e probably going to need to use the -exclude modifier. Other than that all i can say is install gentoo
>>59559657
You should install gentoo
The first problem is you're using winshit, install anything else
