I have a question, lads.
If calories in calories out is all that matters when it comes to weight loss, and restricting calories in leads to a lower calories out (metabolism adapts), why don't people just eat their normal calories in and then increase the calories out with the extra energy they have?
Like, instead of eating 1800 calories a day and being sedentary, eat 2300 and go for a few walks/jog during the day. I know cardio/activity just burns calories but wouldn't this have the bonus effect of not allowing your body metabolism to "adapt" to a lower amount?

So why are machines so frowned upon, exactly? I get that free weights work more muscles than machines, but surely machines are better because the muscle you're trying to work out is the one under stress? Like, I can easily bench 225 for reps on a smith machine but struggle with free weights because of the shoulder strain. I know that's probably poor form but in that case the machine is better as well because it ensures perfect form. Not to mention I'm trying to work chest when bench pressing, not shoulders.

Nope. If it did that, you'd be use to doing that thus not have bad form when with free weights. Machines are easier to use, target less muscles, and allow idiots like you to lift with poor form. Thus they are trash, for the most part. Various isolation machined are good. But free weights should be the core of all you lifting movements.

Elbows in more so you work tris more than delts and dont have the bar all high up like inline with your shoulders, I put it just below nipple

In case you aren't :
Machines don't ensure perfect form. They ensure only one movement path, which doesn't accomodate to your anthropometry.
They also don't recruit stabilizer muscles.

All of this basically means that you can get strong on smith machine but as soon you wanna lift something that isn't the exact same bar path, you will snap your shit up. This isn't just free weights in gym but anything heavy in real life.

No nigga. Bench press is compound lift that works chest, shoulders and triceps. The same applies for smith machine press or any press for that matter. Reason your shoulder is strained is definitely shit form and lacking stabilizers. Also rotator cuff weakness.

Anyone else get really fucking intimidated by girls that lift weights?? I am fine with girls in the gym doing cardio or whatever but whenever a girl comes into the weights section I get so self concious and scared. How can I improve muscle recovery?

I'm running a big deficit and I'm training everyday.

Sterons aren't an option due to bmi and age, and eating more is the last thing I want to do

Starting out working out but worried about muscle recovery is good but we can do better by worrying about general stamina overload stretch. For examp, if you do a good set, not those bad un-good-sets where you do not lift enough to train a seal, your muscles will be looking up at you screaming 'ah help us we hurt'. You should at this point eat 1/2 of your daily caloriy limit to improve recovery past the point of recvoery. hamunpos

Need suggestions for a good no-equipment bodyweight routine that I can do in my room since I'm traveling and gyms are too expensive where I live right now (Sweden). The simpler the better. I'm thinking something like this:

Push-ups 3x15 (or F)
Burpees 3x15
Crunches 3x30
BW Squats 3x15
Planks 1x60

Not sure what other exercises I could add or how to change the sets/reps scheme. Again something not requiring equipment, so unfortunately pull-ups are out and so are dips. I plan on doing this every day for a month. My expectations aren't to get huge or bulked before you shitpost but I want to at least stay active and maintain a bit of what I have.
