Now you listen to me, Aaron: you don't blow your money on those comic books, you understand? They don't do you a damn bit of good.
And the nude mags? You're gonna be inheriting mine when you're 16 anyway, now look: the junk food and the candy just rots your teeth, gives you bad breath, and the girls run like hell.
Stay the hell away from buying any rock TV shirts, or hip-hop gear, or anything like that.
Arcade games, pick out ONE that you can do, okay? ONE that you can do as opposed to a whole bunch of them you don't know what the hell you're doing.
Techno music just puts a hole in your brain- are you listening to me? LOOK at me when I'm talking to you!

Don't cry either. Those god damn rock lesbian sluts you watch on tv cry, its probably where you learned how to be a sissy from.
HEY KID
IM A COMPUTAH
Who wants a body massage?
Left: Antiheroes, villians and dangerous antagonists
Right:TRUE PATRIOTS.
Why is it that in DC, when superheroes decide to go rouge and do whatecer the fuck they want its presented as bad or at least dangerous, but when Cap does it he is lionized? Is Marvel DC morality reversed somehow? Why would Cap be FOR unchecked power, given America by origin and design was built on preventing that?
The Cadmus Arc in JLU was basically Civil War done right, because the Government wasnt given a bunch of straw villiany and the Leauge realized they had a point and they needed to work with the people.
Hell wasnt that even kind of the moral of Civil War?
How is it that a stance consistently seen as misguided as best can sudenly be fetishized just because thr guy doing it wraps himself in a flag.
In Civil War, Tony became a stand-in for Bush and Cheney.
>implying Tony isn't going to be right yet again
>>80627463
>Why would Cap be FOR unchecked power, given America by origin and design was built on preventing that?
Because he knows that the unchecked power lies in the hands of those with the moral fiber to use it responsibly, as opposed to politicians who will literally kill people under the pretense of "national interest".
It's the Superman problem in BvS: Even if Batman has a point, that Superman has unchecked power, what can he do to stop him? Even kryptonite may not be enough. He'll just have to trust him.
We have to trust our heroes. If they truly are as powerful and noble as we think they are, not only will government oversight be meaningless (how easily Cap escaped from the helicarrier in the comics), but they'll make themselves accountable to the people anyway.
What went wrong?
Too mature for kids.
Too childish for adults.

What's your favorite Silver Age Marvel comic?
I'm currently reading Amazing Spider-Man to completion but I'm looking for something else that has a lasting appeal and a lengthy run of quality. I started reading old Iron Man, but frankly it's a bit of a snooze.
I was considering Fantastic Four or Avengers, but encourage suggestions for other stuff as well.
>>80626451
Lee/Kirby FF is dope
>>80626451
Yeah, Iron Man is a tough go; ASM, Avengers, FF, are much better. Daredevil's kinda dull, X-Men is hit-or-miss (not for me, though, I'm a big X-Fag).
Dr. Strange is one of my faves from the Silver Age; can't really go wrong with him.
Lee and Kirby's Fantastic Four is must read and the highlight of Marvel's silver age. Read it.
What went wrong?
The animation, but I do like the trap.
Too punny.

big/long hair is for men, not women
Hey /co/, I'm trying to level up my Hopps, Elsa, and Mulan.
Grinding in the hub on random spawns ain't doing it, what are some good online and offline stages for exp?
>>80626122
Can I see your Hopps?
Toybox Takeover on harder difficulties is great for EXP.
>>80626161
Can't yet, accidentally got some hot glue spilled on it.
Why is the Silver Surfer so NOT in fashion those days ? After a pitiful attempt at portraying him in a Fantastic Four 2 which was an abortion of a movie, he's absent of any Marvel work I can think of.
But he was such a great character, tragic hero with poetry and drama, psychological fights against Mephisto and Galactus, a power capable of destroying pretty much anyone (and the very standard for Cosmic-level), he has wonderful stories with the Asgards, the Inhumans, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, etc... do you think the new movies about those groups and characters will ever portray him again ?
I mean he was THE main character in the Infinite Gauntlet (well except Thanos) and now he's nowhere.
>>80625471
He's hard for writers to get "right" though I hear Slott's take was pretty solid. That and Marvel doesn't seem to give a fuck about cosmic shit.
What was actually wrong with him in FF2? He looked spot on.
>>80625542
>though I hear Slott's take was pretty solid
I hear it was just silver Doctor Who
So, now that peopla are arguing Spider-man, which series do you think did justice to spidey? Cartoons and movies only.Challenge mode: No Spectacular. It still hurts.
>>80623647
I still really like the 90's Spidey.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EeIOeYKd-c
I never knew people had reservations against it until recently.
I also didn't hate the Raimi films; I thought they were cool.
So which did him justice but we cant talk about comics? Fuck you, its a comic book board. Fitting capcha

His comics are kinda shit, let's be honest

>Turtles Forever part 2: Nick pisses off 80's kids again
I don't want to deal with another unjustified bitchfest from denialist fanboys...
From what I've seen the 87' Turtles are a lot more in character than they were in Turtles Forever. They were fucking ridiculous goof balls but they didn't piss themselves and cower in the corner when danger came along, laugh at their own jokes or give noogies. I feel like this is going to just be a shorter Turtles Forever sans cheap potshots.
These are great jokes that "get" the 87' turtles.

Jesus, they are unsettling.
How could we have a team of a male Dove and a female Hawk without it being just Doormat and Megabitch, yet still stay true to the concept?
>true to the concept
But the concept sucked as did Hilly and Don.
>>80622997
>Doormat and Megabitch
That was the concept. Steve Ditko wanted to trash those pansy leftists, and Hawk is just kind of an asshole.

Why no Dreamworks King of Man?
Because big animation studios are run by jews
>>80623007
This, first of all.
Ignoring that, Jesus is the most divisive figure in human history. The Hebrew Scriptures are recognized by all major Abrahamic religions; the ancient prophets and the narratives that surround them are mostly consistent through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. You're not going to run into much controversy if you're adapting them faithfully, since the stories and attitudes towards them are pretty much the same everywhere.
Now with Jesus of Nazareth, that obviously isn't the case. According to Christianity, Jesus is the messiah of prophecy and divine in nature - they believe he was born of a virgin (and thus unmarked by the original sin), and was a perfect and sinless being who gave his life to redeem mankind for their sins. According to Islam, Jesus is the messiah and was born of a virgin, but he was only a prophet of Allah and never claimed divinity. He's seen as a precursor to the more important Mohammad, and had apparently foretold the latter's birth. Jews obviously don't believe any of it, believe that Jesus was either a liar or just not real, and still are waiting for their promised messiah.
There's no way that Dreamworks, a major motion-picture company that develops children's films for international (but primarily American) audiences, could get away with a film about him. No matter what they did, too many people would attack them: and remember that this is an animated film, so religious parents are going to react with extreme negativity if they feel Dreamworks is trying to feed their children lies, or undermine their interpretation of scripture. Any depiction of Jesus (other than maybe as a charlatan and liar) is going to be received poorly by Jews, while claims of godhood and neglect of Mohammad would piss off Muslims - but if you leave that stuff out (and make Jesus subservient to Mohammad), then Christians are going to get pissed off. There's no real way for them to win.
