Let's just say for a second that BvS is too dark and gritty, that's fine, who cares, Snyder is as Snyder does. But how is this going to impact the future of the DCCU? What if this movie is shit but makes a billion dollars anyway? Are we really going to have to just be okay with 20+ years of dark, edgy DC adaptations? How many times can you retell the same shitty "hero is a pariah because he is too strong/ operating outside the law" story?

Snyder can't direct everything DCCU, just like Whedon couldn't direct everything MCU.
>>
>>80594626
The difference is that DC is opening with their Avengers. This movie will introduce the vast majority of characters that are going to be getting movies.
>>
>everything has to have the exact same tone as this movie
Stop thinking in terms of "cinematic universes". None of that shit matters. It only matters that we get good movies, and DC has said each movie is gonna be its own thing.

>she wasn't that good a painter

Jane was able to get into a prestigious art school.
>>
>>80595691
i'm not saying she wasnt "good" and she showed us she can copy van goghs and shit, i'm just saying i recall her artistic sense being kinda dumb. please prove me wrong, if we have some screencaps, but i recall it being pretty oogly

I'm only a few minutes in and this is more entertaining than Mystery inc. with its poorly written dialog, jokes and like woohoo, Scoob. I did like Velma, though.

Be Cool is a good show. Mystery Incorporated was also a good show. They both suffer in some areas though.

This movie is almost 80 years old, and yet it holds up like it hasn't aged a bit.
How is this possible?

Like shit. The entire premise behind GL is that you use imagination to create what you want for the problem you face. Games just aren't at that level to create something good with that level of freedom yet. And lets face it, his stories aren't exactly translatable to vidya.

Has /co/ ever read Storm by Don Lawrence? Or at least heard of it? It's very pulp and pretty good.

I've read the first one. I'd love to get the collections.
>>
Yes. It used to be published in a comics magazine here.
Always loved the art.
>>

Fuck yes. I pretty much grew up on Lawrence's Storm and Trigan Empire series.

Awesome shit, but sometimes it gets a bit -too- pulpy for my taste, especially Storm.

I pulled all of this from wikipedia.
>>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizotypal_personality_disorder

>>Schizotypal personality disorder (STPD) or schizotypal disorder is a mental disorder characterized by severe social anxiety, paranoia, and often >>unconventional beliefs."

Seems like it might fit.

>>The ICD definition is:

>>A disorder characterized by eccentric behavior and anomalies of thinking and affect which resemble those seen in schizophrenia, though no definite >>and characteristic schizophrenic anomalies have occurred at any stage. There is no dominant or typical disturbance, but any of the following may be >>present:

>>1)Inappropriate or constricted affect (the individual appears cold and aloof);
Check.

>>2)Behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric or peculiar;
Check.

>>3)Poor rapport with others and a tendency to withdraw socially;
Check.

>>4)Odd beliefs or magical thinking, influencing behavior and inconsistent with subcultural norms;
Check(In regards to Earth's culture, we don't know if she fit in or not on Homeworld).

>>5)Suspiciousness or paranoid ideas;
Check.

>>6)Obsessive ruminations without inner resistance, often with dysmorphophobic, sexual or aggressive contents;
Possibly, remember the whole "Is that a weapon" bit?

>>7)Unusual perceptual experiences including somatosensory (bodily) or other illusions, depersonalization or derealization;
Unknown.

>>8)Vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, over-elaborate or stereotyped thinking, manifested by odd speech or in other ways, without gross incoherence;
Check.

>>9)Occasional transient quasi-psychotic episodes with intense illusions, auditory or other hallucinations and delusion-like ideas, usually occurring >>without external provocation.
Unknown

So if I'm right, that's 6.5/9.

I love the design and animation in the new Powerpuff Girls. I can tell that Cartoon Network spent a fortune and brought in the world's greatest designers and animators.

I disagree with your take on the design and animation, but am sure your speculation about the designers and animators being expensive and better paid than those in other countries is accurate.
>>
inb4 but the worst part
>>
at least they're giving people a chance. imagine being a nobody flash animator and being given full control over one of the most beloved cartoon series of all time

even though they gave it to chumps, it was a good risk might have been good if it had been put into better hands
