Why did FOX give back the rights to Daredevil to Marvel?
>>83193010
Because Marvel wanted Silver Surver and Galactus to use for their cosmic side of the MCU in exchange for Fox to have the Daredevil rights longer. Turns out, Fox has plans for those characters (ala Fant4stic) and so Fox decided to revert the Daredevil rights back to Marvel
>>83193010
I've heard it was so they could keep the rights associated with the Fantastic 4
>>83193010
They just let them expire because they didn't want Marvel to have anything related to Fantastic Four.
I bet they are kicking themselves now.
Anyone find it odd that Rebirth seems to have the exact opposite message of Infinite Crisis? That entire event was about the old guard who wanted everything to be the way it was being the BAD GUYS. But now Johns is pulling the same tainted earth stuff he decried ten years ago?
He sold this as hope but we he gave is nostalgia.
Nostalgia is the opposite of hope.
>>83192946
Nostalgia can be hopeful, in a "we've been there before and we can be there again" sort of way
>>83192946
Eh. That's a weak argument; you're stripping both events of their context.
As much as IC rejected the regressive old guard, it embraced the history and the modern simultaneously and showcased the depth and variety of characters in DC's backlog, dusting off characters that hadn't been seen in decades. IC wiped out the changes from Zero Hour and most everything published by DC was made canon, to some degree.
The New 52 was Zero Hour on steroids. It burned entire franchises to the ground. Rebirth was a rejection of THAT. Like Barry said, how could we ever forget about them?
>>83192946
The DCU is worse now than it was at the time of IC.
Also, IC's villains were weirdly complaining about DAROS, Death in the Family, Knightfall, and Emerald Twilight, not the present.
Between Rebirth and Marvel NOWer, along with the general decline in quality of comics; why are you still reading comic books
I personally have nothing better to do and I enjoy shitposting about it with y fellow degenerates on /co/
>2 comic companies are all of comics
Hrm
>>83192539
I'm one of "the comics guys" in my clique, so when my friends come across the weirder bits of soapboxing in comics, they ask me to try and explain (even though I tell them that I can barely unpack it myself half the time). At this point I skim books I'm barely interested in on /co/ just to stay abreast of the next pity party in comics.
>>83192742
They may as well be
So is Lex Luthor just Batman without the moral code?
>>83192128
No they're two different personalities all together with similar circumstances
>>83192128
>Batman without the moral code
Ra's is more fitting for that role
>>83192128
That's Owlman
Why /co/?
>>83192105
To sell comic books?
I'm confused, what other motivation could you imagine a comic book publisher might have?
>>83192105
I thought it was cool. I have no idea why the Comedians badge was embedded in the walls of the Batcave though...that had me scratching my head. But the reveal of Manhattan was amazing.
Give a well known Marvel superhero and give them a new power. If Superman can get shit, so can Spiderman.
>>83192016
anon, Nu52 Supes' new power ended up killing him.
>>83192053
I know.
>>83192016
Carol Danvers
New power: a personality
Do you agree with (justified) murder?
>>83191957
Murder isn't justified by definition. Do you mean justified killing? Yes
Yes.
>Before DC Universe Rebirth, The concept of many jokers has been discussed, and largely a popular fan theory on /co/
>After DC Universe Rebirth, The Multiple Jokers are widely panned for "being retarded" on /co/
I don't get it
Because it doesn't make sense for the world's greatest detective to not realize that he has been chasing after 3 different people this whole time.
>>83191924
>batman
>world's greatest detective
>batman
>even an adequate detective
>>83191714
>a small amount of retards discuss retarded things
>one of those retarded things becomes canon
>retarded thing gets called out for being retarded
>because it is retarded
>retards act surprised when they get call out for being retarded and discussing retarded things
Where did you get lost?
>>83191478
All of the Thing is worth reading.
>>83192648
really/ is there a /co/ reccomended Thing?
This always struck me as retarded. What sense of accomplishment can there be in defeating large men when you yourself are a large man with superhuman strength made out of stone?
Let's play, /co/.Don't worry mods. There was a Jamanji cartoon.
Van Pelt was the meanest motherfucker.
Remember the episode when they kept going back in time because Alan always died in different ways? I think in the beginning he gets zapped by lightning and only his beard is left. I should've thought it was funny, but I didn't.
I really wished the whole "trapped inside a game" genre died.
This was pretty neat until they entered the alien structure and the drawing couldn't keep up with flimsy writing. Anyone who has read Nihei will feel extra disgust at how poorly drawn that megastructure is.
Anyway, how did Grant Morrison manage to stay forever in the angsty teen occult phase and then try to cram it into every single work of his?
>>83191153
>art
>bad
I bet your pleb ass thinks Quitely is bad too.
>>83191191
No, Batman and Robin was great
art in Nameless is below average to horrible.
>>83191191
>Anglo-saxon comics ever having good art.
The fact that it is less shit than utter shit doesn't make it good.
Let's get down to business!
TO DEFEAT
>>83190903
THE HUNS
HRAH!
So is Dr Manhattan responsible for the Nu52?
or was that the "Empty Hand"?
or is Dr Manhattan the Empty Hand?
>>83190883
Manhattan stole ten years from the DC continuity to tweak as he saw fit.
Empty Hand is the reader. Manhattan can sort of be seen as a reader in a way but I think Rebirth is more directly using him as a self insert for modern creators and the message they took from Watchmen.
>>83190938
>>83190969
Thanks
So Empty Hand has nothing to do with Rebirth/Nu52?

Post yours, defend it against others critiques, mock theirs, spend hours in seething comment trains that will eventually be lost into the void of meaningless in which all we do is someday subsumed!
Mine:
Iron Man > Guardians of the Galaxy > Age of Ultron > Winter Soldier > Avengers > Civil War > Iron Man 3 > Thor > Captain America > Ant-Man > Thor 2 > Incredible Hulk > Iron Man 2
>ironman at the top
>aou above civil war
Stop
>>83190681
I know I'm the minority with Ultron but honestly I left that movie feeling like it was everything I never thought a comic book movie would dare to be. When that city started flying I was just thinking 'holy fuck this really is a super hero comic come to life'
Right from the beginning with the Avengers tearing through Hydra mooks it established that tone too, it's weird to me that so few people were able to get on its wavelength.
Was it a bit of a mess at parts? Absolutely, but so is every other MCU film except Iron Man.
But that movie delivered in every way I always wanted a superhero movie to deliver.
>>83190681
What could be above Iron Man? I thought it was universally considered the best of the bunch
What the fuck is his plan?
>>83190274
He can see into the future. He doesn't need a plan. In fact, having a plan is pointless. He just does what he's supposed to do at the time when he's supposed to do it.
>>83190274
Crashing the DCU with no survivors.
Fucking DCU's underage female characters
