A comic that has completely lost its charm.

Seems like an eterntiy that I remembered it for having an actually good story.

Which it did. For only the first 5 years of its run
>>
There are so many webcomics like this that are just zombies; shambling along without ever improving or dying. Sluggy, Twokinds, El Goonish Shive, Goblins.

I mean obviously not every comic is going to be Lackadaisy even if they try and try for decades, but god damn if you know you've plateued in 'your' style (often 'your' style in these cases being knockoff anime) do SOMETHING. Even Penny Arcade which seems to be becoming "gamers get older and out of touch THE COMIC" has an artist who's still trying to mix things up, even if it's in a way people dislike.

So why did people hate New52 Superman so much? Looking back at his relatively short reign, he actually got some great stories:
>Morrison Action Comics
>Johns' Men of Tomorrow
>Superman Unchained
>Paktion Comics (especially the first arc. It wavered after that, but was still good)
Heck, even Lobdell's DBZ-tier shit was pretty decent to read with your brain turned off. I think getting 4 great arcs in 5 years is pretty impressive, especially for Superman.

And when you look at what some other characters got, you gotta give the New 52 some props. Wonder Woman got an excellent run, Batman had a few great arcs, Lemire's Green Arrow was awesome, Shazam's new origin and inclusion in the JL was fantastic, if underutilized, Johns' Aquaman was the best thing to happen to the character since Peter David, and Parker's run was solid, Jonah Hex had a great series and probably the best finale issue he could hope for, Forever Evil was fun, too. There are probably a bunch of other little things New 52 certainly isn't the cancer people make it out to be.

Unchained was crummy but still those are the exceptions, not the rule.

That said, I don't understand why anyone thinks he's "edgy" or anything like that because he's not. It's just his costume sucks.
>>
There was nothing wrong with him and I don't understand why they had to kill him.

They could've left him depowered and then Clark's identity problem would've been resolved.
>>
>>83212641
Turns out that Superman fans are the real casuals that don't actually read comics.

This is also proven but how few people buy those comics.

Realistically, what the hell was his plan?
>the Earth Kingdom people are pissed about the hundred years of war and genocide and won't submit their natural resources to us peacefully
>let's just burn it all down, making the entire past hundred years of war pointless
Is there any good justification for this other than making him mustache-twirlingly evil?

It was a final solution, anon. Ending g a war does not make the preceding conflict pointless. It ends the conflict.
>>
The fire nation had am abundance of resources and he thought since they were the strongest nation he thought theu should take over the world or explains it in the episode when he talks to avatar roku so pretty much it was only about conqueeing tje orher benders not resources thats qhy they killed all the air nomads

This isn't a shitty poem OP, people don't go to war over pointless symbolism, they go to war accomplish a goal.

Alright you silly fucks, listen up.

This episode was flawless.

It:
-Fixed the "Time Remnant" plot hole from previous episodes
-Concluded Barry's arc with Iris
-Cleverly inverted Zoom's behavior with time remnants by having Barry's remnant sacrifice himself instead of just using duplicates and murdering one to avoid wraiths
-Had Barry literally save all of creation
-Completed Wally's arc with Joe
-Revisited the fucking retarded season 1 finale and fixed that shit
-Wrapped up Barry's arc by having him be willing to sacrifice himself and his timeline to right what Thawne had done
-Provided closure and emotional catharsis with Barry stopping Thawne
-Perfectly book-ended the series

As far as I'm concerned the show ended here. That was the series finale and it was fucking perfect. Anywhere they try to go from here will fail.

>the team tries to stop Zoom by throwing him on earth-2, despite knowing he can open a portal whenever he wants and despite not being satisfied with having him off earth-1 earlier in the season
>Zoom needs Barry to run 500 laps with him around the thing for his plan to work. Instead of doing 1000 laps himself. Or 500 with a time remnant that would have been a willing participant not trying to stop him

>flawless

Is really hard to introduce a complete new superhero (that is not a successor or derivative) and make it a success?

Or it is just they are not willing to do it?

So, in other words, we don't have more actually new heroes cause the readers or because the editors?
31 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Bit of both. It's significantly harder and so they're unwilling to bother.
>>
You can introduce a new hero and earn 80, or use an old one and earn 100. Every time.

So the choice will ALWAYS be #2.

Which do you choose and what do you change?
